<p>As scientists develop more advanced telescopes and detection techniques, the detection level of the exoplanets will increase and the ability to explore the alien worlds will expand.</p>

<p>After the release of the docu-series <em>Rainbow Rishta</em>, which captures&nbsp;the challenges and vibrancy of the LGBTQIA+ community in India, WION caught up with Ayushmaan for a quick chat over a variety of topics.&nbsp;</p>

<p><em>Rainbow Rishta </em>is a compilation of six stories that show the rawness behind queer love and what it is like to be a part of the LGBTQIA+ community in India. One of these stories is of Ayushmaan's.</p>

<p>Speaking to WION in an exclusive conversation after the release of the series, Ayushmaan said that the queer community "has mostly been portrayed as either caricatures or victims in entertainment in India."&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Growing up, I did not have any queer role models to look up to. All the queer characters were shown as either sad or suffering. I hope that through this series people get to experience our joy, love, and laughter," he added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He said that even though even queer people "face multiple struggles and challenges due to society’s heteronormative setup" but at the same time they also "manage to find our happiness, allies, and chosen families."&nbsp;</p>

<p>"All the stories on <em>Rainbow Rishta </em>depict that it is possible to find love, and to be queer and thriving. I also hope that the viewers can see that LGBTQI+ people feel the same need for love and companionship as everyone else, and behind all our glamorous façade and stereotypes is the human desire to feel seen and visible," he told WION.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"With queer people behind and in front of the camera, we will be able to bring out the nuances in our life, beyond just the usual tropes."&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Queerness isn’t just one thing and it has several different aspects. I wish people could see the experiences of people across the spectrum. And <em>Rainbow Rishta </em>tries to do that. Moreover, queer people aren’t always accorded the privilege of leading normal lives, so in our urge of assimilating we shouldn’t lose the richness of our lives."</p>

<p>A US-based sports journalist, who was briefly detained in Qatar for wearing a rainbow shirt as a way of expressing support for LGBTQ, has died.&nbsp;Grant Wahl (49) collapsed on Friday while covering the World Cup quarterfinal match between Argentina and the Netherlands.&nbsp; According to media reports, Wahl suddenly lost consciousness while being seated in the press box at Lusail Iconic Stadium during extra time.</p>

<p>Emergency services were called in and quickly took Wahl to a hospital. It was later declared that the journalist had died.</p>

<p>“NPR can confirm the death of longtime soccer sportswriter Grant Wahl. He died today in Doha, Qatar while covering the Argentina-Netherlands World Cup quarterfinal (sic),” an NPR reporter tweeted late on Friday</p>

<p>US Soccer in a tweet said it was “heartbroken to learn that we have lost Grant Wahl.”</p>

<p>Grant’s brother Eric in a video posted on Instagram on Friday announced his death while suspecting&nbsp;foul play.</p>

<p>"My name is Eric Wahl. I live in Seattle, Washington.&nbsp;I am Grant Wahl's brother," he said announcing his brother's death on Instagram.</p>

<p>"I am gay, I am the reason he wore the rainbow shirt to the World Cup. My brother was healthy, he told me he received death threats. I do not believe my brother just died. I believe he was killed, and I just beg for any help."</p>

<p>"What had been a cold over the last 10 days turned into something more severe on the night of the USA-Netherlands game, and I could feel my upper chest take on a new level of pressure and discomfort.”</p>

<p>"I didn't have Covid (I test regularly here), but I went into the medical clinic at the main media center today, and they said I probably have bronchitis. They gave me a course of antibiotics and some heavy-duty cough syrup, and I'm already feeling a bit better just a few hours later. But still: No bueno.''</p>

<p>Wahl was earlier associated with Sports Illustrated before launching his own website Substack.</p>

<p>For the study, the researchers made use of global climate data, crowd-sourced images and a computer model. The researchers found that 66 to 79 per cent regions of the world will witness rainbows in greater frequency.</p>

<p>"Living in Hawai'i, I felt grateful that stunning, ephemeral rainbows were a part of my daily life," says land systems scientist Kimberly Carlson, who is now at New York University. "I wondered how climate change might affect such rainbow viewing opportunities."</p>

<p>Tens of thousands of crowdsourced photos were analysed. Data was gathered for photos for which location data was available. A computer model was trained to make predictions after feeding it this data and more like precipitation, cloud cover and angle of the Sun. The model then made predictions.</p>

<p>It was found that regions at higher elevation would experience &nbsp;more rainbows than those at lower altitudes.</p>

<p>But this is hardly to bring a smile to our faces as climate change is otherwise going to spell disaster. &nbsp;It's wise to steer clear.</p>

We are heading to a future with more rainbows, but there's a catch

<p>Two rainbows appeared outside Buckingham Palace moments before it was announced that Queen Elizabeth II died on Thursday at the age of 96. Scores of people had gathered outside the royal palace after officials warned that she was 'under medical supervision'.</p>

<p>England’s longest-reigning monarch passed away this afternoon. In a statement, Buckingham Palace said that the “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon”.</p>

<p>“The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow,” they added.</p>

<p>This formal statement was posted outside Buckingham Palace moments before the heavy downpour stopped, giving way to two beautiful rainbows over the London landmark.</p>

<p>Many on Twitter construed this as the representation of the Queen and Prince Philip, while others interpreted it differently.</p>

<p>Delegates from nearly 200 countries are in Glasgow to hammer out how to meet the Paris Agreement goals of limiting temperature rises to between 1.5 and 2 degrees Celsius.</p>

<p>At the halfway stage of the COP26 negotiations, some countries have upgraded their existing pledges to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, while there have been separate deals on phasing out coal, ending foreign fossil fuel funding, and slashing methane.</p>

<p>The promises followed a pre-COP26 estimate from the UN that said national climate plans, when brought together, put Earth on course to warm 2.7C this century.</p>

<p>With just 1.1C of warming so far, communities across the world are already facing ever more intense fire and drought, displacement and economic ruin wrought by global heating.</p>

<p>And a major assessment last week showed global CO2 emissions were set to rebound in 2021 to pre-pandemic levels.</p>

<p>Swedish campaigner Greta Thunberg said the summit had gone nowhere near far enough in a speech at Friday's youth march in Glasgow, where she labelled the conference "a failure".</p>

<p>Australians have voted overwhelmingly for same-sex marriage, paving the way for legislation by the end of 2017 and sparking rainbow celebrations on Wednesday, with people wearing wedding dresses and sequined suits and declaring &ldquo;our love is real&rdquo;.</p>

<p>Australia will become the 26th nation to formalise the unions if the legislation is passed by parliament, which is expected despite some vocal opposition within the government&rsquo;s conservative right wing.</p>

<p>Thousands of people in a central Sydney park broke into a loud cheer, hugged and cried as Australia&rsquo;s chief statistician revealed live over a big screen that 61.6 percent of voters surveyed favoured marriage equality, with 38.4 percent against.</p>

<p>Australian Olympic swimmer Ian Thorpe, who came out as gay three years ago, said the result was a huge relief.</p>

<p>&ldquo;It means that the way you feel for another person, whoever that may be, is equal,&rdquo; Thorpe told reporters at the Sydney celebrations.</p>

<p>The voluntary poll is non-binding but Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull immediately said he would fulfill a pledge to raise a bill in parliament with the aim of passing laws by Christmas.</p>

<p>Turnbull played down concerns of a split in his coalition government over the policy as the conservative faction presses for amendments to protect religious freedoms that discriminate against same-sex couples.</p>

<p>&ldquo;It is unequivocal, it is overwhelming. They have spoken in their millions and they have voted overwhelmingly yes for marriage equality,&rdquo; Turnbull told reporters in Canberra after the survey results were announced. &ldquo;They voted yes for fairness, yes for commitment, yes for love.&rdquo;</p>

<p>The result marks a watershed moment for gay rights in Australia, where it was illegal in some states to engage in homosexual activity until 1997.</p>
