The Indian cricket team's preparations are underway ahead of the start of the three-match Test series against South Africa. Virat Kohli &amp; Co. have been undergoing intense training sessions in Centurion ahead of the series-opener as they aim to get off to a winning start against the hosts.

BCCI on Monday shared a video of the Indian players enjoying a training session at the SuperSport Park where head coach Rahul Dravid was seen giving a pep talk to the team.&nbsp;The video started with Dravid encouraging the players for an intense and quality practice session before batting coach Vikram Rathour and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey gave a rundown of the conditions in Centurion.

"Next three days are going to be really important in terms of our preparation and getting ourselves right for the first Test match," Dravid can be heard telling the players in the video shared by BCCI.

Laxman, who has not coached a national side before, has served as the mentor of Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL and has also worked as a batting consultant for Bengal in the domestic circuit.

Ganguly revealed Laxman wanted to work with the Indian team but things didn't work out for him to replace Shastri. The BCCI president also stated that the batting legend will get a chance to work with the national team in the future.

“He (Laxman) was keen on the national team job, but that couldn’t worked out. But somewhere down the line, he would have that opportunity to coach the national team," Ganguly added.

I gave the reasons why I wanted to quit T20 captaincy and my view point was received very nicely. In pursuit of 310, Maharashtra were off to a flier courtesy Ruturaj and Yash Nahar. Despite their 100-run opening stand, the side slipped from 109 for no loss to 131 for 4. Skipper Ruturaj, who many believe can also lead CSK in the coming years, remained undeterred and continued to add runs to score a whopping 168 and lead his side to an impressive five-wicket win. He also completed 600 runs in the competition courtesy his latest hundred.

With this knock, Ruturaj joined some big names such as Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal and Prithvi Shaw to score four centuries in one season of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Fo the unversed, Shaw had achieved the feat in the previous edition of the domestic tournament.

Former Indian cricketer and chief selector Dilip Vengsarkar called for Ruturaj's inclusion in the Indian team as soon as possible. "You must pick a man in form. Butt, however, also stated that Rohit can be a short-term captain as age is not on his age (being 34 at present). "Sharma could just be a short-term captain. Ganguly revealed Dravid was carrying cones and wickets back to the dressing room after a practice session in Kanpur which reflected his down-to-earth character.

“I wish him (Dravid) all the best. I heard that in Kanpur, after the day’s practice he was picking up the cones and wickets and balls and bringing them back to the dressing room. It must have been a great sight for cameramen and photographers to see Rahul Dravid do that (smiles). But he is that sort of a person," Ganguly said in an interview with News18.

"We will support him and Rohit and Virat in test cricket whichever way they want," added the BCCI president.

Gangly and Dravis shared a number of years together playing for India and represented the team across formats. The two greats share a cordial relationship between them and Ganguly had earlier revealed he had personally convinced the batting legend to take up the India head coach job.
