<p>The styles contained nods to female figures or writers, including a couple of long, buttoned up white shirts, a style Susan Sontag has been pictured in.</p>

<p>"This social distance in some way doesn`t help us to have a dialogue with the other," Chiuri said in an interview. "So probably it`s also for that that I want this dialogue with other women, I don`t want to close myself in a room, to stay alone."</p>

<p>A mix of materials, including Indonesian ikat fabrics, also echoed the "collage" theme, as did the illuminated windows of the decor by Italian artist Lucia Marcucci, containing a patchwork of photos and newspaper clippings.</p>

<p>Some celebrities welcomed the low key nature of the show.</p>

<p>"I actually feel this new environment that we`ve created with more space and more respect for one another – I actually think that it`s a much more pleasant way of viewing the shows, and consuming art," said 'Games of Thrones'&nbsp;actress Maisie Williams.</p>

"Unfortunately, I'm really sick and unable to travel. I'm heartbroken to be missing this show, but I know that my amazing team, and my friends who are in town for the event, will help me be there in spirit," she added.<br />

Fortunately, Jenner returned to Instagram on Friday to tell fans that she's on the mend.<br />
<br />
"Alright, so before I get into this, I just want to stay thank you guys so much for all the well wishes, to my friends, to my followers," the star said on her Instagram Story, before previewing her Kylie Cosmetics x Balmain makeup collection, which was released later that day.<br />
<br />
Jenner added: "I really appreciate it. I'm feeling so much better".</p>

<p>Supermodel Gigi Hadid confronted a gatecrasher at Chanel's Paris fashion week show on Tuesday after the woman walked unchecked onto the catwalk with the models for the big finale.</p>

<p>The woman ran down from her seat and joined the models as they did their last walk along a spectacular set recreating the roofs of Paris inside the Grand Palais.</p>

<p>With security guards left floundering, Hadid -- who walked in the show with her sister Bella -- confronted the gatecrasher as she tried to further upstage the models, with the two facing off on the set.</p>

<p>The daring infiltrator was dressed from head to toe in a black and white Chanel-like tweed suit and hat, and slipped unnoticed onto the catwalk.</p>

<p>Marie Benoliel, a French comedian and YouTuber known as Marie S'Infiltre (Marie Sneaks In), later claimed credit for the stunt.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Guards only realised that she had joined the models when it was too late to intervene.</p>

<p>"I couldn't stop laughing because the hapless security guards couldn't spot her in the line-up," said New York Times fashion writer Elizabeth Paton, who had been on the front row.</p>

<p>By then the woman was giving it her all, waddling down the catwalk with her hands on her hips like a supermodel.</p>

<p>Moments later as the women left the line of models to pose further up on the rooftop, Hadid blocked her way before the visibly miffed model escorted the smiling woman offstage.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Chanel told AFP that the woman had taken them by complete surprise but that "this is not the first time that she has done this."</p>

<p>Born in Birmingham, Britain, Daisy-May's lower legs were amputated due to fibular hemimelia - a lack or shortening of the calf bone - when she was 18 months old. She started modelling for UK clothing brands a year ago and has walked at the London Kids' Fashion Week in February and at the New York Fashion Week earlier this month.</p>

<p>"Here to make history, that's what we do," she said on her Instagram account, which showed a picture of Daisy-May and her father Alex in front of the Eiffel Tower.</p>

<p>Daisy-May uses carbon blades for running and on the catwalk - she even did a cartwheel in them at the London show - but for school, she has a different set of prosthetic legs.</p>

<p>She told Reuters Television she loves putting pretty clothes on and posing for the camera.</p>

<p>"I get my hair done, then I get my make-up done and then I put my dress on, and my legs, and I get on the catwalk. Sometimes I do not even feel different," she said.</p>

<p>"When she was born, we thought it was going to be the end of the world. How people were going to look at her and perceive her, like boyfriends, and husbands. Now I see that she was a gift. Her disability is an actual gift and she wears that gift with pride. It does not hold her back in any way," he said.</p>

<p>Lulu et Gigi founder Eni Hegedus-Buiron said she had no second thoughts about hiring an amputee to model her luxury children's clothing, which can cost as much as $2,600 for a "Princess and the Pea Gown".</p>

<p>Dior went back to nature in its Paris fashion week show Tuesday with Greta Thunberg plaits and a garden-inspired collection that seemed to spring straight from the earth.</p>

<p>With climate change biting at the heels of the fashion industry, and the London shows hit by environmental protests, designer Maria Grazia Chiuri said she wanted to create clothes that "were not just about image but action".</p>

<p>To do that, she embraced the wild, with hemp gardening jackets and a series of stunning diaphanous dresses embroidered with wildflowers.</p>

<p>These were not the dainty pink roses of Dior yore but sinuous survivors, thistles and other prickly customers flowering on stony ground.</p>

<p>Most of her models also wore their hair in plaits not dissimilar to those of the teenage Swedish environmental activist Thunberg.</p>

<p>Three of the most striking looks bore the ghostly prints of real wildflowers, gathered and applied by an artist who has mastered the natural technique.</p>

<p>The Italian designer also pushed the couture boundaries by using hemp and raffia in eye-catching unusual ways, with a layered raffia ballgown and flower-embroidered raffia waistcoats.</p>

<p>All was set in what Chiuri called an "inclusive garden" of 160 trees, their roots wrapped in hemp, which will all be replanted in urban gardens being designed around the French capital by environmental architects, Coloco.</p>

<p>Chiuri told AFP that her inspiration had come from Christian Dior's sister Catherine, a French Resistance hero who became the first female flower wholesaler in Paris -- and who farmed her own roses in the Luberon in the south of France.</p>

<p>The couturier's first perfume, Miss Dior, was named after her, and Chiuri felt her legacy had been a little forgotten.</p>

<p>When she was arrested, she refused to betray her comrades despite being tortured by the Gestapo and sent to a concentration camp.</p>

<p>Chiuri said she was struck by a phrase of Christian Dior's after the war, "Fortunately there are the flowers" -- which she took as a sign of hope after the dark days of World War II.</p>

<p>"Flowers and humans need to live together if humanity is to survive," she told AFP.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The important issue for everybody, not just in fashion, is to be more responsible about what we do," she said.</p>

<p>Paris women's fashion week began Monday bracing itself for climate and animal right protests and with one of its biggest star designers -- Virgil Abloh -- missing.</p>

<p>Animal rights group PETA also took to the streets before the first show to denounce fashion's love affair with leather, saying tanneries were among the world's worst polluters.</p>

<p>Activists poured "toxic mud" on their heads in front of the Eiffel Tower to hammer home that "leather is a dirty business".</p>

<p>"The leather industry produces dangerous toxic waste and is responsible for the deaths of more than a billion animals a year to produce fashion accessories that are destroying the planet," Marie-Morgane Jeanneau of PETA told AFP.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Another rights group, One Voice, released an undercover video of "appalling conditions" at a mink farm in France, where they said up to five animals were kept in each small, dirty cage.</p>

<p>Earlier this month Extinction Rebellion activists had called for London fashion week to be cancelled entirely because of the "climate emergency" and the damage done by the industry.</p>

<p>Other protests are likely in Paris over the nine-day marathon of spring-summer shows -- by far the world's biggest and most important fashion week.</p>

<p>But there were signs the environmental message is getting through.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Many of the big luxury brands are abandoning fur, and 150 brands led by Chanel, Hermes and the French luxury giant Kering -- owners of Gucci, Saint Laurent and Balenciaga -- signed up to a "Fashion Pact" last month to reduce their environmental impact.</p>
