<p>India’s premier&nbsp;investigative agency, the NIA, has booked Khalistani ‘listed terrorist’ Gurpatwant Singh Pannun over a video where he threatened Air India passengers.</p>

<p>The founder of Sikhs for Justice has been booked under sections 120B (criminal conspiracy), 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC.</p>

<p>He has also been charged under sections 10 (member of an unlawful association), 13 (for taking part in or committing or advocating any unlawful activity), 16 (terrorist act), 17 (funding terrorist act), 18 (conspiring or attempting to commit, or advocating, abetting, advising or inciting a terrorist act), 18B (for recruiting of any person or persons for terrorist act) &amp; 20 (for being a member of a terrorist gang or a terrorist organization) of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.</p>

<h2><strong>Shared threatening video on Nov 4</strong></h2>

<p>In a video shared online on Nov 4, Pannun had asked the Sikh community not to take the Indian carrier flight on the said date, claiming that their lives would be in danger if they did so.</p>

<p>"We are asking the Sikh people not to fly via Air India. From November 19, there will be a global blockade. Air India won't be allowed to operate. Sikh people, don't travel by Air India after November 19. Your life can be in danger," Pannun said.</p>

<p>IGIA is located in New Delhi, and one of the world’s busiest airports.</p>

<p>On November 19 (Sunday), India played Australia in the World Cup final at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.</p>

<p>He had also vowed to rename the airport after his plan to secede Punjab from India succeeds.</p>

<p>"The name of this airport will be Shahid Beant Singh, Shahid Satwant Singh Khalistan airport, when Punjab will be liberated," he added.</p>

<h2><strong>Pannun's threat spurred high alert&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>“The latest threat is in line with the same narrative, which Pannun has actively promoted in the past by threatening and&nbsp;attempting to disrupt essential transportation network systems, including the Railways, as well as Thermal Power Plants in India", it added.</p>

<p>Strongly opposing the "hate speech" delivered by Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the Hindu Forum Canada (HFC) has called for a prohibition on his entry into&nbsp;Canadian territory. The Canadian-based Hindu group has accused Pannun of instilling fear among Hindus and Indians residing in Canada.</p>

<p>Peter Thorning, the legal representative for HFC, expressed the forum's concerns to Marc Miller, who serves as the Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship in Canada's House of Commons.</p>

<p>HFC has urged the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to conduct a thorough investigation and take the necessary measures to declare Pannun "ineligible" for entry into Canada.</p>

<p>Emphasising Pannun's designation as a "terrorist" and the outlawed status of his organisation, SFJ, within India, HFC's attorney, Thorning, brought to the attention of the Canadian authorities the longstanding connections between the two countries, which have faced political challenges due to Khalistani elements promoting hatred under the guise of free speech.</p>

<p>“We highlight that the Government of India has previously labelled Pannu a terrorist, according to Indian media reports, and has banned the group in the country, accusing it of supporting violent extremism," said the letter.</p>

<p>"Canada and India have longstanding bilateral relations built upon shared traditions of democracy, pluralism and strong interpersonal connections. Canada is home to one of the largest communities of Indian origin, with approximately 4% of Canadians being of Indian heritage (1.3 million people). The deep cultural and political ties between Canada and India are strengthened by a growing network of official dialogues, agreements, memoranda of understanding and working groups," HFC's counsel added in the letter.</p>

<p>The Hindu group&nbsp;also brought attention to a recent video featuring Pannun in which he issued a warning to all Indo-Canadian Hindus to depart Canada.</p>

<p>In the video, Pannun accused Canadian Hindus of "working against the very nation from which they derive economic advantages," as stated in HFC's communication.</p>

<p>HFC's legal representative explicitly outlined the relevant sections related to 'Public Incitement of Hatred' and requested an inquiry into Pannun's actions, as well as the prohibition of his entry into Canada.</p>

<p>"Section 319 of the Criminal Code makes it unlawful to incite or promote hatred against an identifiable group. There is no doubt that Hindus are an identifiable group&nbsp;as defined in section 318 (4) of the Criminal Code," the letter further said.</p>
