India men's hockey team beat Pakistan 2-1 on Saturday (Sep 14) in the Asian Champions Trophy. This was India's fifth straight win in the tournament as they entered the semis unbeaten. A total of six teams are participating in the tournament in round-robin format.

All the goals were done in the first half itself with India skipper Harmanpreet Singh scoring both of India's goals. It was Pakistan who drew first blood as Ahmad Nadeem scored in the 8th minute for them.&nbsp;

Harmanpreet scored the equaliser five minutes later on a penalty corner and scored another one in the 19th minute to give India eventually a decisive lead.

The semi finals are scheduled on September 16 and the final will be played on September 17.

The match also witnessed a heated encounter between Harmanpreet and Pakistan's Ashraf Waheed Rana after the latter shouldered Jugraj Singh inside the Indian circle.

Jugraj was felled by the impact and was seen grimacing in pain. Harmanpreet and Jarmanpreet Singh were quick to counter the offender.

The on-field umpires and Pakistan captain Butt and other players of both teams rushed in to control the situation but Rana was shown a yellow card, which resulted in a 10-minute suspension after the umpire went for a referral for serious misconduct.

Meanwhile, in the first match of the day, Malaysia and Korea played out a 3-3 draw.

At the hearing, Danish Kaleem admitted the breach of conduct and apologised.

The Pakistan team has been provided with a three-layer security cover once they landed in the city, unlike other countries. The security layer is wider and more so because of what had happened during the 2014 Champions Trophy.&nbsp;

After beating India in the semifinals, the Pakistanis had upset the crowd by making obscene gestures towards them.

But Butt said his experience in India has always been a pleasant one.

"My experience in India has always been very good because I have visited this place regularly for hockey leagues and India-Pakistan series. As far as travelling with the national team is concerned, we have enjoyed the love of the people of Bhubaneshwar. The security also has been foolproof in arranging safe trips to places of our interest," Butt said.

According to Butt, the security here is lot more lenient than what it was in New Delhi during 2010 the Commonwealth Games.

"There was a lot more restrictions back then. Delhi, of course, is different from Bhubaneshwar," he signed off.&nbsp;

The high commissioner, senior officials of the Pakistan mission and representatives of Hockey India were present at the airport here during the team's transit on its way to Bhubaneswar, it said.
