In addition, they receive a share from logo sponsorships as well as three&nbsp;percent of the revenues the PCB generates from the International Cricket Council (ICC).

This year, players' share of ICC revenue comes to approximately 1.53 million rupees each. However, payment delays have led to huge&nbsp;concerns. In addition, the report cites&nbsp;that the PCB has attributed the delay to administrative issues and pending revenue from various sources.

"The PCB is spending a lot on the complete facelift of the three stadiums in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi for the ICC Champions Trophy, besides other cricket-related expenses. But the dues of players would be cleared this month," the source further said.

Future central contract increments, slated for 2024-25 and 2025-26, does promise a substantial rise&nbsp;in players' earnings. In Category A, retainers are expected to see a rise to 2,070,000 rupees a month, with corresponding hikes for players in Categories B, C, and D. Post that, the Asian giants&nbsp;will leave for New Zealand for a white-ball series before the next edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) kicks off.

Another source pointed out, "Babar was captain in all three formats for more than three years, but Kirsten and the selectors have reservations over whether Rizwan could handle the workload in the coming months while also leading the side in ODIs and T20Is."&nbsp;

It is possible that the PCB might have separate ODI and T20I captains or appoint a strong vice-captain to Rizwan, for him to take ample breaks and manage his workload.

For the white-ball vice-captaincy, Shadab Khan, Saim Ayub, Test captain Shan Masood, and Shaheen are the obvious choices. They can also be considered for the captaincy role if Rizwan declines the offer or is overlooked.

Latif told ProSports as quoted by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter, "If Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli can change their approach in T20Is, then why can't Babar Azam? I would like to cite Rohit Sharma's example. You saw how he evolved his game in the 50-over format. He has made himself a role model. In this year's IPL, he had close to 140 strike rate. If he can change his game, everyone can. He did not do this overnight, he had to work on his game. India showed they can do this. This is not a problem of the player but a problem of the ones who make them play."

Rohit and Kohli impressed one and all with their attacking intent in the T20 WC. While Rohit had a successful run, with 257 runs (second-most&nbsp;overall), Kohli had an ordinary campaign before turning up with a fine 59-ball 76 in the final -- where India beat South Africa by 7 runs in Barbados on June 29. Post the mega event, both also retired from T20Is. Rohit signed off with 4,231 runs -- most-ever -- with Kohli following him at the second spot with 4,188 runs.

Latif further also gave Babar and his opening partner Mohammad Rizwan an ultimatum by saying, "I would give Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan five matches to change their batting approach in T20Is and if they won't, then there should be no place in the team for them."

Latif further lamented that Babar should not have accepted taking over as the white-ball captain when he was offered the post once again early this year. Notably, Babar resigned as Pakistan's full-time captain post the ODI WC in India in 2023. However, he was reappointed as the limited-overs skipper before the just-concluded T20 WC.

While Pakistan crashed out of the league stage of the tournament, some aggregator&nbsp;accounts on social media and influencers smeared the allegations against Mahmood and other officials.&nbsp;

The former cricketer took to his social media handles to clear the air and stated that he was 'pursuing legal advice' against those responsible for the allegations.&nbsp;

"I have heard some false allegations and narratives circulating on social media and other media platforms. I categorically state that these allegations are entirely baseless and false, and it is extremely upsetting to hear them," said Mahmood.&nbsp;

Prior to Mahmood, a report in Geo News claimed that Pakistan captain Babar Azam was also considering the legal route to take action aginst YouTubers and former cricketers who accused him of 'misconduct' during the T20 World Cup campaign.&nbsp;

<h2>Ugandan player approached by match-fixer</h2>

Earlier in the tournament, a former&nbsp;Kenyan international had approached a Ugandan player for match-fixing, according to media reports.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The alleged match-fixer approached the Ugandan player multiple times from different numbers. However, the unnamed player reported the approach to Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) officials, following ICC's strict&nbsp;anti-corruption protocol.

“I really don’t know. I went into the dressing room and found four-five players are sleeping in the dressing room while playing Test cricket. I was like, ‘How come you guys can do that? If you do something like this, you cannot be a part of this team. I want you guys to stay focused during the game,” he said.&nbsp;

Hafeez added that as a team director, he doesn’t get involved in what a player does outside of the game time. But during the match, it’s his responsibility to ensure the players are active and concentrated on the game.&nbsp;

“Off the game, whatever the guys do, it is their own life; I never get involved in it. But in the professional timings of the game, I want the team guys to focus on the game. Stay in touch. If you are a fast bowler, you can have a rest and a good ice bath, but you need to concentrate on the game of cricket, like how the other team is also doing. You cannot switch yourself off during the game, but unfortunately, the media (in Pakistan) didn’t like it,” the former all-rounder added.

Former Pakistan cricketer Mohammed Hafeez has yet again called Indian batters Virat Kohli and KL Rahul 'selfish' for playing for personal milestones during the 50-over World Cup last year.&nbsp;

After Kohli smashed an unbeaten 101 in India's 243-run win over South Africa at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Hafeez&nbsp;created controversy by calling the Indian batter 'selfish'. Nearly seven months later, Hafeez has doubled down on his version.&nbsp;

"I remember in the same tournament, KL Rahul played a fantastic shot over extra cover to finish the game off (vs Australia) and he was not happy that India won the game but was unhappy because he couldn't get his own hundred,"&nbsp;said Hafeez on the Club Praire Fire Podcast with Adam Gilchrist and Michael Vaughan.

"This is a selfish approach and then the same happened when Virat Kohli did the same thing when he was more into his 100 than adding value to the team (vs South Africa)," he added.&nbsp;

Hafeez went ballistic and called out Kohli for not playing safe and consuming additional deliveries while nearing a milestone.&nbsp;&nbsp;

"After 95, if someone is taking five balls to get to his hundred and not thinking of hitting off those three&nbsp;or four&nbsp;balls, and if the intention gets changed after scoring a 100, why can't I play the same shot on 95? So in that game (South Africa), Virat took a lot of balls to get to his 100 and he was not playing big shots," Hafeez added.&nbsp;

Muhammad Rizwan's 'India' comment triggers controversy as fans slam Pakistani cricketer

Pakistan cricketer Haris Rauf has allegedly been caught in an altercation with a fan&nbsp;in a video that has gone viral on social media. An angry Rauf could be seen charging at the fan in public who he believed was 'Indian' while his wife attempted to stop him from losing his cool.&nbsp;

The Pakistan star was having a stroll after the Men-in-Green crashed out of the T20 World Cup in the group stage. In the viral video, Rauf could be heard referring to the fan as: "Indian hoga (he must be Indian)".

However, the man replied saying: "Pakistani hoon (I am from Pakistan)"

Rauf could also be heard saying, “How can you abuse my father,” (gaali baap ko de raha hai) before proceeding to say, “Indian hi hai yeh’ (He is surely Indian).”

After the video went viral, Rauf released a statement saying when it comes to his family, he will never 'hesitate' to take such action.&nbsp;

"I decided not to bring this on social media, But now that the video is out, I feel it is necessary to address the situation. As public figures, we are open to receiving all kinds of feedback from the public. They are entitled to support or criticise us," wrote Rauf.

"Nevertheless, when it comes to my parent and my family, I will not hesitate to respond accordingly. It is important to show respect towards people and their families, irrespective of their professions," he added.&nbsp;
