Pakistan has moved a resolution in its Parliament supporting China in its fight against the deadly coronavirus outbreak. Doing so Pakistan has become the first nation in the world to move such a resolution. China is witnessing an unprecedented coroutine following the coronavirus outbreak. The whole world is concerned about it. The upper house called the Senate of Pakistan parliament has unanimously adopted a resolution to stand with China in its hour of need.

Pak Senate steps in support of China, Passes resolution praising China's fight against Coronavirus

More than 1,000 Pakistani students in China’s Hubei province were told by their government that it had ruled out the very possibility of their return home. The province is believed to be the epicentre of the deadly nCoV, and Pakistani nationals are being told by the government that they should abandon all hope of being rescued.

Despite such demoralising statements from the State, many Pakistani citizens who were studying in Wuhan are desperate to find their way home, a feeling which only compounds every day as the fear of contracting the virulent strain persists.

Some have grown increasingly critical of their government's response, especially after seeing how neighbouring nations of India and Bangladesh managed to evacuate their citizens from Hubei province including citizens of other nations, such as the Maldives.

Life of most students and families has been confined to indoor environments, which has increased feelings of isolation, anxiety and depression. Worsening this destructive state of mind is the fear of catching the virus and uncertainty as to how long the conditions would last.

Whatever binary slivers of hope the students from Pakistan had of returning home was crushed after the video conference call between them and Pakistan’s Health and Overseas Citizens Minister, who declined the prospect of an imminent evacuation.

Reason for such negligence on Pakistan's part was justified by students who suggested that Pakistan did not have the necessary quarantine facilities. Pakistan has seen two very disturbing developments this week, its Parliament passed a resolution demanding public hanging of child abusers

This is a violation of the United Nations rule, but the majority of Pakistan's Parliamentarians backed it.

A court in Pakistan said that men can marry underage girls as long as they have reached their menstrual age. The court was hearing a case of forced conversion.

A 14-year-old catholic girl was abducted, forcefully converted and married to a Muslim man. The court said, "The marriage was valid because the girl already had her first period."

According to these developments in Islamabad, it's not a crime when a child is forced to marry her abductor, but child abusers should be hanged in public.

This raises some serious concerns - does Pakistan have a different definition of child abuse for minorities? Or is the system confused?

Child abuse is a haunting reality of Pakistan. In 2018, the case of a 6-year-old girl shocked the world - her rape and murder led to massive protests.

The data is chilling. In 2018, Pakistan reported over 3,800 cases of crimes against children. There were over 900 cases of abduction, 452 cases of missing children, over 500 cases of rape, almost 600 cases of sodomy, over 300 cases of attempted rape and 130 cases of child marriages.

In short, every day there are at least 12 cases of crime against children, and these are only the ones that are reported and registered.

56 per cent of the victims are girls and 44 per cent boys. It seems the country is not even thinking of preventive measures.

It only wants a gory spectacle, the public hanging of convicts. The Parliamentary resolution referred to the Zainab Ansari case.

But the parliamentarians forgot something. Zainab's rapist too was executed and it did not stop the rape of young girls and boys.

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran khan went to Malaysia promising to unite the Muslim world but his balancing act may have back-fired.

Imran has slammed the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation for failing to speak in one voice over Kashmir as Saudi Arabia continues to show reluctance to accept Islamabad’s request for an immediate meeting on the issue.

Pakistan wants an OIC meeting on Kashmir and Saudi Arabia has reportedly rejected the request.

The Pakistan media says that no progress has been made by the council of OIC foreign ministers on Pakistan's request.

The reason — Saudi Arabia isn't game for this. They won't back Pakistan's cause. This is significant — because Saudi Arabia is the de-facto leader of the OIC.

Looks like — Imran Khan's stunts haven't paid off. Driving the Saudi prince around has taken the prime minister nowhere. That is not to say that the kingdom never backed Imran Khan.

In December — after his absence from the Kuala Lumpur summit of Muslim nations. Saudi Arabia had shown flexibility on the proposal of a forum on Kashmir.

This Saudi flexibility, however, was short-lived. Riyadh has now done a u-turn. Imran Khan's Malaysia visit has turned into a diplomatic disaster.

Turns out — Saudi Arabia was not taken into confidence. Reports of Saudi disapproval had emerged earlier too.

What probably adds to their reluctance -- is this confession by Imran Khan on divisions within the OIC.

“The reason is that we have no voice and there is a total division amongst [us]. We can’t even come together as a whole on the OIC meeting on Kashmir," Imra Khan said indirectly chiding Saudi Arabia and UAE for diluting Pakistan’s stand.

This may have been enough to miff the self-proclaimed custodians of the Muslim community.

The message from Riyadh is clear — domestic political narratives cannot drive foreign policy.

Prince William and his wife Kate left Pakistan Friday after a tour dramatically capped by a terrifying mid-air plane drama which saw their Royal Air Force pilot abort two landings in a fierce thunderstorm over Islamabad.

The turbulence from the Thursday evening storm during the flight from Lahore to Islamabad shook the plane so hard that seasoned foreign correspondents said they had never experienced anything like it.

"It was pretty bumpy up there," the Daily Mail's royal correspondent, Rebecca English, quoted the Duchess of Cambridge as saying.

"If I'm honest ... that was the most nervous I've ever felt in a plane," said ITV royal correspondent Chris Ship, who was on board.

The pilot of the RAF Voyager reportedly tried to land twice, once at a military base in the garrison city of Rawalpindi adjacent to the capital, and once at Islamabad International.

But the storm, one of the many squalls that often hit Islamabad in October, proved too powerful.

"The pilot circled for an hour but the lightning - and turbulence - was so bad we had to fly back," tweeted English late Thursday.

With the plane grounded in Lahore, some 270 kilometres (170 miles) from Islamabad, the UK High Commission had to rush to secure hotel rooms for the Prince, his wife -- and the roughly 100 people accompanying them, according to the travelling press.

With security one of the top concerns throughout the trip, it was no small feat.

But after a night at a five-star hotel in Lahore, the entourage was able to return to Islamabad Friday morning, just in time to visit an army centre in Islamabad where dogs are trained to sniff out explosives.

Thursday's mid-air drama did not appear to dampen the royal couple's spirits, with the press pack reporting that William -- himself a pilot -- had joked with them shortly after that he had been the one flying the plane.

There has been no statement yet from Kensington Palace on the flight drama.

Huge smiles

A planned trip to the famed Khyber Pass -- one of the two major border crossings into Afghanistan -- was called off after the flight drama.

The couple -- the Duchess wearing one final shalwar kameez in black and white, after highlighting the traditional Pakistani long tunic and trousers throughout the trip -- then boarded the Voyager once more, waving for the cameras one last time before departing.

It was Cambridge's first official trip to Pakistan, and a significant vote of confidence from the UK in the country, which has seen a dramatic improvement in security in recent years.

No British royal has visited Pakistan since William's father Prince Charles and his wife Camilla came 13 years ago, just as Pakistan was plunged into the worst of its long, bloody battle with militancy.

The army intensified a crackdown on militants in 2015, however, and since then the violence has dropped dramatically, though analysts still warn that Pakistan has not yet addressed the root causes of extremism.

The Cambridges spent their five-day tour promoting causes such as girls' education, conservation and climate change awareness while winning praise for their tributes to Pakistani designers and huge smiles as they took part in each event.

The palace had called the trip their "most complex" tour to date as the couple sought to boost ties between Britain and the second-largest country in the Commonwealth.

William's mother, the late Princess Diana, charmed Pakistanis on her own visits to the country two decades ago, and nostalgia for her lay heavy over the trip, both for Pakistanis and for Britons watching from home.

Pakistani press repeatedly flashed archive photos of Diana on her visits, comparing her to Kate.

The couple also met with Prime Minister Imran Khan, an old friend of Diana's, and visited the cancer hospital he founded which she had helped raise funds for.
