Oli`s critics said the political leader was adding loyalists to his government because political allies were questioning the 67-year-old leader`s authority. He has been in poor health since a kidney transplant in India in 2007.

Although local media have reported that Oli may seek further treatment soon, his office has remained silent on the issue.

Oli, a moderate Communist, led a coalition with former Maoist rebels to a shock victory in national elections about two years ago. The former Maoists have since merged with Oli`s group.

In what was seen as a large concession to former Maoists, Oli agreed to allow former rebel chief Prachanda to be the executive chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party, a party spokesman told reporters on Wednesday.

Prachanda has been pressing Oli to let him take over as prime minister before his term expired in 2022 under a power-sharing deal between the two leaders.

Independent political analysts allowing Prachanda to run the party will let Oli complete his term as prime minister.

Oli during his first term stood up against a border standoff with India, a neighbouring power with major political and economic clout in Nepal.

The dispute resulted in a months-long shortage of essential goods like fuel and medicines in 2015 and 2016. India has denied imposing a blockade.

Since then Oli has been considered closer to China, which agreed to study whether a Chinese rail link could be extended to Nepal`s capital city, Kathmandu, and to help construct a tunnel across the Himalayas to Tibet.

China has also agreed to grant landlocked Nepal access to its roads and ports as the Himalayan nation seeks to lessen the dominance of India.

Seventeen members of Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's secretariat have tendered their resignation which will be effective from November 17.

The unprecedented move comes at a time of mounting criticism upon the government and health situation of Prime Minister Oli who underwent dialysis after encountering problem in the functioning of his transplanted kidney.

It has been reported that PM Oli himself asked them to resign.

"We have tendered our resignation to the prime minister. On Saturday, he called all of us and asked to resign. As per his request, we have resigned from the post clearing the way further but it will be effective from November 17 only," one of the senior advisors who resigned confirmed asking not to identified by name.

The senior official from the PM secretariat denied talking further about the potential reason behind the latest move of the prime minister which also has increased suspicion of a possible reshuffle in the cabinet.

Oli, who took charge as Nepal's prime minister in February for the second time, said the Prime Minister's Office will be made paperless within six months. 
 
Speaking during the 12th general convention of Nepal National Teachers Organisation in Kathmandu, he said that anyone at the Council of Ministers who does not know how to operate a laptop will be sacked, the Kathmandu Post reported. 
 
"I have already said in the Council of Ministers meeting that we will make the office paperless within six months and the meeting's programmes and agenda will be discussed using laptops," said Mr Oli. 
 
He said that the ministers can take help from their assistants in operating the laptops for six months.

"We will bid farewell to any ministers failing to operate laptops on their own after six months," he said, adding that the sacked ministers will be given the laptops so that they can learn to operate until their next tenure

Oli further said the government aims to take strides in making Nepal an information technology friendly country within the time period.

The Indian Prime Ministers two-day&nbsp;visit that focused on faith as the common link is over. It was PM Modi's faith diplomacy that was the main highlight of the visit. The visit started at Janakpur’s Janaki temple. Along with Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli,&nbsp;PM Modi flagged off the Janakpur Ayodhya bus service. The bus service connects Janakpur— the birthplace of Goddess Sita with the birthplace of God Ram in Uttar Pradesh. This will not only help in connecting the two cities but increase two-way tourism between India and Nepal.

At a public address thereafter PM Modi had a heart to heart talk with the people of Nepal. He said, “India is incomplete without Nepal”, referring to the common cultural connect. A number of Hindu pilgrimage sites are in Nepal. At the same public reception, he lauded Nepal’s democratic process and said Nepal opted for ballot over bullet and Buddha over Yudh.

He visited Mukhtinath and Kathmandu’s Pashupatinath. Muktinath in north Nepal is an important site of pilgrimage for Hindus and is revered by both Hindus and Buddhist.

This was his second visit to Pashupatinath. In his maiden visit to Nepal after taking charge as the Prime Minister, Modi had first visited the holy temple in Kathmandu.

At his second public felicitation in Kathmandu, he said he will come again, this time to visit Lumbini which he&nbsp;referred to as “birthplace of Buddha in Nepal”. It has been a light-hearted issue of discord between India and Nepal once with both claiming Buddha was born in the respective countries. So the debate is settled once and for all.

Other than faith, the focus was also on infrastructure and connectivity. On the connectivity front, India will build a railway line connecting Kathmandu with Raxaul. This will connect Kathmandu with Indian railway network. Inland waterway system is also been explored. Kosi will soon see inland waterway connectivity with an Indian team coming soon to Nepal for a feasibility study.

As Indian PM during the joint statement at the Diwarika hotel in Kathmandu said, “Nepal is no longer landlocked, its land linked and water linked”.

On the infrastructure front, both PM’s inaugurated Arun 3 project, which will be the largest infrastructure project in Nepal. India PM said that this will create “economic opportunities in Nepal”.

In a symbolic move, the Mayor of Kathmandu handed over keys of the city to Indian PM signifying that the city will be always open to PM Modi. While reactivation of SAARC was not discussed Bimstec summit will soon be held in Nepal.

The Left Alliance of the CPN-UML, led by Oli and CPN-Maoist Centre, led by Prachanda, had in December secured 174 seats in the 275-member Parliament in the historic provincial and parliamentary polls that many hope will bring much-needed political stability to the Himalayan nation.

It had also secured an overwhelming majority in the upper house of Parliament with 39 seats, paving the way for the leftist alliance to form the country&#39;s next government.

CPN-UML, with the support of CPN Maoist Centre, has emerged as the largest party after garnering the majority in the three-tier elections.

KP Sharma Oli will head the first government elected under a new national constitution that cements Nepal&#39;s transformation from Hindu monarchy to a federal republic 11 years after the end of a brutal Maoist insurgency.

The historic elections in December were the first under the country&#39;s new post-war constitution, which sets out a sweeping overhaul of the political system, devolving significant power from the centre to the seven provinces.

Dahal, better known by his nom-de-guerre Prachanda, painted Oli as an egocentric who refused to listen to the people and demanded that he resign. 
 
After debate on the motion kicked off on Friday, two smaller parties also abandoned the coalition, leaving Oli&#39;s Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist Leninist) floundering for support. 
 
The Maoists joined Oli&#39;s government last October, weeks after Nepal adopted the new national constitution.

Cracks began to appear in the coalition two months ago when the Maoists threatened to topple Oli, prompting the premier to draw up an 11th-hour deal with Dahal. 
 
But Dahal later withdrew from the coalition, citing the government&#39;s failure to implement that agreement to withdraw war cases from Nepal&#39;s courts and offer amnesties to people accused of abuses during the decade-long Maoist conflict. 
 
Since becoming premier, Oli has faced fierce criticism over his handling of protests against the charter, which triggered a months-long border blockade in southern Nepal by demonstrators from the Madhesi ethnic minority. 
 
More than 50 people died in clashes between police and protesters, who said the constitution left them politically marginalised. 
 
The new constitution, the first drawn up by elected representatives, was meant to cement peace and bolster Nepal&#39;s transformation to a democratic republic after decades of political instability. 
 
But ongoing discussions between the government and protesters over the charter have failed to yield agreement. 
 
Kathmandu accused New Delhi of imposing an &quot;unofficial blockade&quot; on the landlocked nation in support of the Madhesis, who share close cultural and family links with Indians across the border.
