My Bias, My Boss ep (9-12) review: Kang Hoon-Kim Hye Jun deliver warm ending despite uneven twists

The first four episodes of My Bias, My Boss established its playful office-romance setup, but Episodes 5-8 are where the drama finally begins to understand what makes its central love triangle work. Nam Da Reum's feelings become increasingly complicated as the fantasy of dating her long-time idol, Lee Chan, starts colliding with the quieter comfort she finds around her boss, Kang Ha Gi. By Episode 8, the drama has moved beyond the question of “Who will Da Reum choose?” and started asking a more interesting one: Who allows her to be completely herself?
What has happened in the show My Bias, My Boss (episodes 5-8) so far?
In episode 5 of the show, Ha Gi and Da Reum head out on a trip after APPELLO faces a major crisis, allowing them to share quieter, more intimate moments that deepen their bond. Meanwhile, idol Lee Chan grows increasingly uneasy and jealous as he learns about the trip, intensifying the ongoing love triangle.

While in episode 6, Da Rum agrees to give Lee Chan a chance after he confesses his feelings. The romance benefits from the slow-burn treatment, but some scenes could have been shortened without losing emotional impact. The drama is strongest when it focuses on character interaction rather than stretching familiar misunderstandings.
Final verdict
The drama moves away from the simple fantasy of “girl gets close to her celebrity bias” and builds a much more relatable romance around comfort, understanding and being able to be yourself around someone. The biggest winner is Ha Gi and Da Reum's slow-burn relationship. Their chemistry feels increasingly natural, while Da Reum's changing feelings are given enough space to make sense. A charming mid-season stretch that turns the love triangle into a genuinely engaging romance and finally gives Team CEO something to celebrate.

However, her dream is derailed when she clashes directly with Appello's prickly CEO Kang Ha Gi (played by Kang Hoon), whom she has already accidentally embarrassed prior to starting. Also Read: TWICE's Chaeyoung exits JYP Entertainment after Jeongyeon In episode 2, Lee Chan visits the Appello office as the fashion department director. Da Reum tries hard to win a spot on an upcoming foreign work trip to be near Chan, but her clumsy efforts to impress CEO Kang Ha-gi backfire, ramping up workplace chaos and misunderstandings. Da Reum has her first direct interaction with Chan when he spots her in the building, welcomes her to the company, and asks to shake her trembling hand.
