<p>The Musee des Beaux-Arts has said that soup was thrown on Claude Monet's "Le Printemps" (Spring) at 3:30 pm (local time) on Saturday (Feb 10).</p>

<p>The masterpiece, created in 1872 was behind a protective glass but the museum said that there will be close inspection and restoration of the painting. The museum also said that it would file a complaint.</p>

<p>According to&nbsp;AFP,&nbsp;two activists of the group behind the act have been arrested.</p>

<p>The group, Riposte Alimentaire or Food counterattack, accepted responsibility for the attack in a post made on social media platform X (Twitter).</p>

<p>In the post a 20-year-old woman named Ilona said, "we have to act now before its too late"</p>

Two climate activists threw soup at Monet's "Springtime" painting in the Beaux Arts Museum of Lyon. They claim the move is to highlight climate emergency. The activists belong to an environmental group that had already claimed responsibility for a similar action last month against the Mona Lisa painting in Paris.

<p>The women were arrested but not before they smeared red paint over the painting and glued themselves to the protective glass. The museum's press office confirmed the incident and said they were not sure if the painting had been destroyed or not.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“In the afternoon of June 14 around 2:30 p.m. (8:30 ET) an action was carried out at the National Museum in Stockholm. Two people made handprints with some kind of paint on an artwork by the artist Monet in the exhibition ‘The Garden – Six Centuries of Art and Nature’ and then glued themselves to the glass,” the museum’s press office said.</p>

It is unclear whether more people than the two arrested are involved in the incident, but a number of people have been checked and the police will, among other things, review the course of events with the help of the museum’s surveillance cameras,” the police said in a release.&nbsp;</p>

Just Stop Oil activists marched before the team bus with placards saying "life over oil", "we won't die quietly' and #no new oil and gas".</p>

<p>In Germany last week, protesters threw mashed potatoes on a Claude Monet painting in Pottsdam. On Sunday, activists glued themselves to an exhibition of a dinosaur skeleton at Berlin's Natural History Museum.</p>

<p>Scholz also urged the activists not to endanger others after a street protest reportedly prevented emergency workers from getting to the scene of an accident on Monday.</p>

<p>According to the Bild daily, a specialist vehicle was delayed in reaching a cyclist who had been run over by a cement mixer in Berlin because activists had glued themselves to a nearby street.</p>

<p>It plans to roll out the on-demand bus and car services in Japan in the next year, and a platform to operate self-driving vehicles as early as 2023 based on Toyota's boxy "e-palette" multi-purpose vehicle.</p>

<p>Honda Motor Co and Toyota's truck-making subsidiary Hino Motors took a roughly 10% stake each in the venture in March, and Miyakawa said that it would soon take more investment from the domestic auto industry.</p>

<p>"We're planning to announce an expansion in our stakeholders sometime this month," he said.</p>
