<p>The policy says that review contributions "should reflect a genuine experience at a place or business" and that "content that has been posted from multiple accounts to manipulate a place's rating" will be removed.</p>

<p>"This location has rats in the kitchen that will make you sick and your insurance isn't going to cover it," one review said.</p>

<p>This came after 26-year-old Luigi Mangione was arrested in the killing of UnitedHealth CEO Brian Thompson after one of the bystanders spotted him at the McDonald's and matched his resemblance with the gunman.</p>

<p>In an Instagram post, the US food giant said that it has been donating "tens of thousands of meals," across Israel over the past few days during the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas.</p>

<p>"McDonald's donated and continues to donate tens of thousands of meals to IDF units, the police, hospitals, residents around the Strip and all rescue forces. We continue donating thousands of meals daily to our forces across the country. In addition to a 50% discount to soldiers and security forces who come to our branches," the post read in Hebrew.</p>

<p>It further said that it has opened five additional branches for the sole purpose of providing aid and donations to Israeli security forces and that it plans to deliver 4,000 meals daily.</p>

<p>The fast food giant has donated 12,000 meals to the IDF and Israeli residents in the surrounding areas, according to a&nbsp;post on Thursday.</p>

<p>But the move was severely criticised by many Arab nations who started calling for the boycott of the burger joint across the globe.</p>

<p>A user on social med Z wrote, “McDonald's&nbsp;providing free meals to the IDF, (the military forces of Israel). We should stand by our principles and take actions that align with our beliefs. Lets boycott McDonalds bcz Supporting companies that are involved in conflicts is wrong, especially when it comes to the loss of innocent lives."</p>

<p>The poster continued: "Let's raise awareness and encourage accountability from these brands. Remember, every individual's voice and actions can make a difference in shaping a more just world."</p>

<p>Another user commented, “What a gross act @McDonalds. Israel cut food, water, and electricity in Gaza and you are giving them free meals. What a shame.”</p>

<p>Following the announcement, McDonald's Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, UAE and Turkey units took out statements in support of Gaza, while Pakistan’s franchise distanced itself from the post.</p>

McDonald’s receives backlash from Arab nations for announcing free meals to Israeli forces

<p>A McDonald's restaurant located in London was slapped with a fine of more than $600,000 after a customer discovered mouse droppings in the burger and filed a complaint.</p>

<p>The place was then visited by the health officers who checked the restaurant and discovered the unhygienic conditions, after which the food chain was fined £497,000 (approximately $600,000).&nbsp;</p>

<p>The customer found something suspicious in his cheeseburger, only to discover that it was the droppings of the mouse.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As per Waltham Forest Council, the customer had eaten half of the burger when the mouse droppings were noticed.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The complaint against the restaurant was registered in 2021 after which Environmental Health Officers visited McDonald's.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The officers "found conditions at the premises presented a real risk to the health of customers. Amongst the officers' findings were the decomposing remains of a mouse and numerous mouse droppings throughout the premises. The inspection also uncovered several areas in the kitchen that were greasy, dirty, and dusty", as per the report.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The officers felt that the restaurant posed an 'imminent risk to health' and hence closed it for ten days.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The restaurant was later reopened after the Council felt that the health conditions of the place were satisfactory.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After McDonald's was fined at Thames Magistrates' Court, the Waltham Forest Council posted the news on Twitter and shared pictures of the restaurant's unhygienic conditions at the time of inspection.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"McDonald's is a large and well-experienced food business operator in the fast-food sector who serves thousands of meals per week to its customers, therefore, the risk presented at the Leytonstone store was significant. It was appreciated that McDonald's pleaded guilty and admitted wrongdoing at the first opportunity. However, as a Council, we take food hygiene seriously and won't hesitate to follow up on complaints and take action where appropriate, irrespective of who operates the food business," he added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“During the week of April 3, we will communicate key decisions related to roles and staffing levels across the organization,” the company said in the message viewed by the WSJ.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It has asked staff who don’t have access to a computer during the week to provide personal contact information to their manager.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“We want to ensure the comfort and confidentiality of our people during the notification period,” the company said.</p>

<p>More than 150,000 people are employed globally with McDonald’s, with 70 per cent of them located outside of the US, the company said in February.&nbsp;</p>

<p>However, it has not commented how many employees are being laid off over the course of this week.</p>

<p>In January, McDonald’s had indicated that it may take “difficult” decisions about changes to its corporate staffing levels by April, as part of a broader strategic plan for the burger chain.&nbsp;</p>

<p>At that time, Chief Executive Chris Kempczinski said that the company wants to move forward with its retrenchment policy as they were expected to save money, but didn’t have a set dollar amount or the number of jobs he was looking to cut.</p>

<p>“Some jobs that are existing today are either going to get moved or those jobs may go away,” Kempczinski was quoted as saying.</p>

McDonald’s shuts offices in US temporarily, prepares for layoffs: Report

<p>As per the building owner Peter Crosthwaite, McDonald’s has not requested to renew the lease of the space, and hence, the shop will be available for rent from July.
