This attack is a failure of the state government. The law and order situation has completely collapsed here and the home minister should resign," Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Anand Dubey said.

The estranged cousin of Uddhav Thackeray, Raj Thackeray, was touring central Maharashtra on Friday. As his convoy was heading to a hotel,&nbsp;Shiv&nbsp;Sena (UBT) supporters attempted to block his way and threw betel nuts at him, according to officials. The betel nuts reportedly hit another car, but not Raj's vehicle.

The people responsible were arrested, and a case has been lodged against them. Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders have accused Raj of having accepted a 'supari' or contract to undermine the influence of the Uddhav Thackeray-led faction.

An activist has said he had warned the BMC -- the Mumbai civic body -- about illegal structures in the Kamala Mills premises but that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation replied there is &quot;nothing wrong here&quot;.&nbsp;

An eyewitness said the entire area was engulfed in flames soon after the fire started.&nbsp;

She added that there was a stampede since no one knew where the fire-escape doors were.&nbsp;

News reports said there were no fire extinguishers inside the restaurant. There were also no emergency exits.&nbsp;

The reports added that the restaurant&#39;s roof was made of dry bamboo which only helped the fire spread faster.&nbsp;

The reports said the fire brigade had also found illegal constructions.&nbsp;

Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant demanded, in the Lok Sabha, a judicial inquiry into the fire.&nbsp;
