The meeting is said to have lasted for over 45 minutes but&nbsp;there is no word on what transpired. However, it hasn't gone unnoticed by political leaders and the civil society in Nepal.

There have been protests against the Chinese embassy and the Chinese envoy in particular.

Few images from Kathmandu that made rounds showed people holding placards that read "Go back China --- keep silence Yanqi".

It's the same message from Nepal's political leaders. One leader after another has been putting out tweets condemning China's open interference in Nepal's domestic affairs.

A tweet by Kamal Thapa who is the former deputy prime minister of Nepal said: "PM Oli says Indian ambassador was active in overthrowing the government. On the other hand, the Chinese ambassador reached the leaders' house to save the government."

Nepal has approved a new political map showing disputed land as Nepalese territory. Upto 335 kilometres of land area has been included as Nepalese territory in its new political map which includes Limpiyadhura, Lipulekh and Kalapani.

The valley of Kalapani along with the Lipulekh pass forms the Indian route to the Kailash-Mansarovar which is an ancient pilgrimage site. It is joined by the Limpiyadhura pass five miles south-west. India considers these areas to be part of Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh district.

The country has managed and developed these areas for decades and these territories have never been used for military activities.

Earlier, Nepal never complained but all of a sudden Nepal says that Indian presence in these areas undermines its sovereignty, in fact, it did not even choose a diplomatic way to settle the issue.

Nepal has already resolved the so called border dispute by declaring these territories its own. The Nepal Communist party has tabled a special resolution in the Parliament which aims to&nbsp;seek&nbsp;control of these territories.

Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has given his consent and has asserted that Nepal is only claiming its own land.

The Nepal PM says his government has not taken the decision under anyone's behest but not everyone is on board. Senior members of Nepal's ruling party want the government to hold their horses.

Amid row with India, Nepal PM Oli defends new political map

A day after the chairman of the Socialist Party, Upendra Yadav, resigned from the post of deputy prime minister, the Madhesi party on Wednesday withdrew its support from -led government dragging it down to a simple majority government from a two-third majority in the Parliament.

The angst Socialist Party-Nepal decided to withdraw its support accusing Prime Minister Oli of failing to keep the pre-alliance agreement of the constitution amendment.

The ruling, Nepal Communist Party is now left with 174 seats, nine short of two-third majority. With the support of the Socialist Party, which has 17 MPs, the incumbent government had a clear-cut two-third majority with 191 MPs.

Out of a total of 275 members, a party requires a total of 183 to have the two-third majority in the Parliament.

"We were on board with the government over the issue of a constitutional amendment; that is not going to be fulfilled, you all very well know that our two ministers who were on board have already resigned. Today our party's central working committee has decided to withdraw support extended to the incumbent government under the leadership of Nepal Communist Party, KP Sharma Oli-led government. Now our party, the Socialist Party- Nepal will act as opposition and would act accordingly," Upendra Yadav, Chairperson of Socialist Party- Nepal who resigned from the post of Deputy Prime Minister as well as law minister told reporters on Wednesday.

A day earlier, Yadav along with another sitting minister from his party had tendered resignation to Oli over dissatisfaction for not taking the amendment proposal forward as per the agreement.

In the press meeting, Yadav claimed that the party wouldn't give up the issue of the constitutional amendment but would fight for it from the Parliament as well as the road in the coming days.

"Measures to build pressure for Constitution amendment would be parliamentary measures and going to the people or fight along with them to revise the constitution, the attempt would be peaceful, far from violence in the parliament and road, discussions in between and other means to complete it. Make the constitution acceptable for all, this movement would continue further," Yadav further clarified.

As the Socialist Party walks out of government and withdraws it's support from the KP Sharma Oli-led cabinet, a question has arisen whether the prime minister would face a vote of confidence.

As per the Clause 100 (2) which has provision regarding vote of confidence and Motion of No-Confidence states, "If the political party which the Prime Minister represents is divided or a political party in coalition government withdraws its support, the Prime Minister shall table a motion in the House of Representatives for a vote of confidence within thirty days."

Though, the Rashtriya Janata Party- Nepal (RJP-N) who also had withdrawn support for Oli government and no vote of confidence took place because there was no representation on board from its side.&nbsp;

He was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday morning after complains of stomach ache.

The PM was kept on the ventilator after undergoing surgery. But his condition significantly improved which is why he was taken off the ventilator. 
 
Additionally, Oli is also undergoing regular dialysis as his transplanted kidney has stopped functioning. He had undergone a kidney transplant in India back in 2007 after both of his kidneys failed.

In the last few weeks, the Nepal Prime Minister underwent four cycles of hemodialysis at Grande International Hospital.

India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Nepalese counterpart KP Sharma Oli on Tuesday inaugurated first of its kind cross border commercial oil pipeline between India and Nepal in South Asia.&nbsp;

The pipeline from Motihari in Bihar to Amlekhganj in Nepal will transfer petroleum products such as diesel, LPG, aviation turbine fuel etc.

Speaking at the inauguration through video conference, PM said, "our bilateral cooperation has increased in the past few years..and India is ready to help Nepal according to country's priority."

Calling the pipeline "One of the best examples of trade and transit between India and Nepal", PM Oli said, "Implementation of various India aided projects in Nepal have gathered momentum in recent years following the understanding between me and PM Modi."

Nepal's KP Oli also said the project will enhance "interconnected and interdependence" between India and Nepal.

The idea of the pipeline was first proposed in 1996 and finalised in 2014 during PM Modi's Nepal visit. It was approved by Indian Oil at a total cost of Rs. 324 crore in September 2015 but the work was delayed following the earthquake of 2015.&nbsp;

The pipeline will replace road transportation and ensure uninterrupted supplies. The pipeline is 69 km long with a capacity of 2 million tonnes per annum. Around 32.7km of the pipeline is in Indian territory and 36.2 km in Nepal's territory.

Inda is engaged in a number of projects in Nepal. Last year Integrated Check Post in Birgunj (Nepal) built with New Delhi's assistance was inaugurated during PM Modi's visit. Shree Narad Adarsha Education Campus was constructed with Government of India's aid amounting to (Nepali Rupees) NRs. 30.20 million.

The institution was established in 1971 as a secondary school and was subsequently upgraded as a campus in 2003.

It is affiliated with the Tribhuvan University (TU) in Kathmandu and enrols around 135 students each year.

About 70 per cent of the total students is girls.

The institution offers a four-year Bachelor's degree in Education (B.Ed.) programme.

The infrastructure of the campus includes a two-storied building, comprising 12 classrooms, a library, meeting hall, and separate toilets for boys and girls.

Ajay Kumar, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of India, was the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony which was also attended by former Urban Development Minister Narayan Khadka.

The newly-built infrastructure will not only boost the learning environment for students but also enhance access to education to rural students of Udayapur and adjoining districts, including Bhojpur, Khotang, Sunsari, and Saptari.

The Nepali government had signed a peace agreement with the de-facto group in 2006 after which it became a political party and ruled over the country with the formation of the government over different period of time.

During the decade-long insurgency, around 13,000 people had reportedly lost their lives, while about 1,300 people are still missing, along with complaints and reports of mass violation of human rights.

The Government of Nepal had also formed a commission to probe into the reports, however, very less progress has been made so far while drawing the attention of the International community.

Recently, the diplomatic missions have called for a free, fair and timely redressal of the issues.&nbsp;

The Nepal government led by KP Oli has come under severe criticism from national and international media organisations for floating a proposal to bring harsh laws to punish people for posting anti-government contents on social media.

In the proposed bill related to the management and regulation of information technology, the government has prescribed a fine up to Rs 1.5 million and/or five years imprisonment for individuals who post online contents deemed by the authorities as character assassination or an attack on national sovereignty.

The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) and its affiliated Nepal Press Union have strongly criticised the proposal, terming it as "improper".&nbsp;

In a statement issued on Friday, the IFJ called on the government to hold consultations with stakeholders before bringing such legislation.

In a separate statement, the Nepal Press Union outrightly criticised the draft bill stating that the steps to control the social networking sites through law have borne out of the regressive mindset.&nbsp;

"The steps the government was taking is trying to restrict the freedom of expression guaranteed by the constitution," the statement said, adding, "By trying to restrict the use of social networks, where the highest degree of freedom of expression is being practised, the government is attacking the roots of democracy. The intent and character of the government have been evident through such decisions taken by the communist government."

The Nepal Press Union has called on all the stakeholders to fight with determination against this effort of the KP Oli led government.

The IFJ said the proposed law forwarded by the government is a blatant attempt to control and muzzle freedom of expression on social media.&nbsp;

The government's move to bring harsh laws against the social media comes at a time when people are posting in social media contents with severe criticism of President Bidya Bhandari's office for acquiring millions of dollar worth luxurious vehicles and failure of Prime Minister Oli to deliver services as per his past commitments.

The proposed legislation, which will be tabled by the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology, also states that the citizens can only use those networking sites that are registered with the Department of Information of the government.&nbsp;

"The steps the government was taking is trying to restrict the freedom of expression guaranteed by the constitution," the statement said, adding, "By trying to restrict the use of social networks, where the highest degree of freedom of expression is being practised, the government is attacking the roots of democracy. The intent and character of the government have been evident through such decisions taken by the communist government." The Nepal Press Union has called on all the stakeholders to fight with determination against this effort of the KP Oli led government. The IFJ said the proposed law forwarded by the government is a blatant attempt to control and muzzle freedom of expression on social media. The government's move to bring harsh laws against the social media comes at a time when people are posting in social media contents with severe criticism of President Bidya Bhandari's office for acquiring millions of dollar worth luxurious vehicles and failure of Prime Minister Oli to deliver services as per his past commitments. The proposed legislation, which will be tabled by the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology, also states that the citizens can only use those networking sites that are registered with the Department of Information of the government.
