<p>The United Kingdom's top climate change advisory body, the Climate Change Committee (CCC), has issued a stark warning to Keir Starmer's new Labour government, urging it to act "fast" to put Britain on target to meet its 2030 climate targets.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It pointed out that the UK has pledged to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 68 per cent from 1990 levels by 2030, which is "only six years away," and that "the country is not on track to hit this target".</p>
