A university in India apparently forgot to conduct an examination for a subject even after releasing the timetable and issuing admit cards for the paper which was scheduled on Tuesday (Mar 5).&nbsp;

Local reports have mentioned that when Master of Science (MSc) students of a university in Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh state reached out to the officials of Rani Durgavati University, they were told that the exam would not be held.&nbsp;

The officials reportedly said that the university was not prepared.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, India-based news agency PTI reported that nine students of the post-graduate computer science course at the university could not take the exam, with officials saying it was rescheduled due to an error in the question paper.&nbsp;

The National Students Union of India (NSUI) claimed students were informed about the rescheduling when they reached their centre for the exam on Tuesday.

The government university's registrar, Deepesh Mishra, told PTI that nine students of the first semester of MSc Computer Science could not take the exam on Tuesday due to an error in the question paper of 'Computer Organisation and Assembly Language' subject.&nbsp;

He said that after a complaint was received from the students, an explanation was sought from the examination department's official concerned. He added that there was some error in the question paper, therefore it was not given to the students.&nbsp;

Mishra further added that the examination for the subject will now be held on March 15 while the exams of other subjects will be held as per the schedule.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, Sachin Rajak, district president of the NSUI, the students' wing of the Congress, claimed that when the students reached the examination centre, the authorities told them the exam was rescheduled.&nbsp;

Blaming the university officials for this, he said some of the students came from neighbouring districts including Narsinghpur and Katni to appear for the exam.&nbsp;

The NSUI members met the university officials in this connection on Tuesday.&nbsp;

A host of sharp-edged weapons, ammunition (including prohibited bore), incriminating documents and digital devices were also seized during the searches, the NIA spokesperson said.

The NIA had, on May 24, registered a case, during its investigations into the pro-ISIS activities of Khan, who came to the agency’s notice in August last year.

"The NIA learnt that he and his associates were involved in disseminating ISIS propaganda through social media platforms, as well as through on-ground 'Dawah' programmes, in order to unleash violent terror attacks in India at the instance of ISIS. The module had been conducting meetings in local masjids and houses and hatching plans and conspiracies to spread terror in the country," the spokesperson said.

The official said the investigations revealed that the three accused were highly radicalised and wanted&nbsp;to carry out violent "jihad".

"They were engaged in collecting funds, disseminating ISIS propaganda material, motivating and recruiting youth, and trying to procure arms and ammunition with the objective of carrying out terrorist acts," the spokesperson said.

The official said Ali had created a local group by the name of ‘Fisabilillah’ and was also operating a WhatsApp group by the same name. "Along with his associates, he was trying to procure pistols and was in contact with a Jabalpur-based illegal arms supplier for this purpose." A staunch ISIS follower and supporter, the NIA said Khan had managed to assemble an active group of Jabalpur-based like-minded radicalised individuals.

"Some of the module members were already contemplating Hijrat (flight) to conflict theatres, while others had plans to form a local outfit for carrying out violent jihad in India," the spokesperson said.

The official said Khan was also running multiple YouTube, Instagram and WhatsApp channels for&nbsp;recruiting youth into the ISIS fold.

"Investigations further showed that Shahid had also planned to procure weapons including pistols, improvised explosive devices and even grenades for violent attacks in India," the spokesperson said.

The officials have confirmed the death toll after the tragic accident that happened at the New Life Multispeciality Hospital, in Jabalpur in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.&nbsp;

When the fire broke out, many people including patients and hospital staff were inside the building. Several fire tenders were deployed and eventually, the blaze was brought under control.&nbsp;

Vishwas Sarang, who is the Medical Education Minister of Madhya Pradesh, said that the authorities are trying to figure out the exact cause of the fire. Although, he hinted that a short-circuit could have been the reason. There's no confirmation yet.&nbsp;

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences as he tweeted: "Anguished by the loss of lives due to a fire at a hospital in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. Condolences to the bereaved families."&nbsp;

"I hope the injured recover at the earliest. The local administration is providing all assistance to those affected," PM Modi added.&nbsp;

When the Kesharwanis decided to branch out and expand their family home, they came up with a novel way of dealing with an ancient giant fig tree in their garden - they built the house around it.

Now the thick trunk of the 150-year-old tree is the central feature of their residence, growing through the middle of the building in the city of Jabalpur.

"We are nature lovers and my father insisted that we keep the tree," said Yogesh Kesharwani, whose parent built the house in 1994 with the help of an engineer friend.

"The tree is some 150 years old. We knew it was easy to cut the tree but difficult to grow one like it," he told AFP.

The fig tree, known as peepal in Hindi, is considered sacred by many in India and cutting one down is considered inauspicious.
