The incident took place in the Southern Indian state of Kerala, when a private college in Kollam hosted the pan-India NEET Exam for entrance to medical courses, on Sunday 17<sup>th</sup>&nbsp;July.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The issue of girl students' basic rights and dignity being violated came to light after a parent filed a Police complaint regarding the incident. The complaint alleged that officials at the examination centre in Kollam had forced his daughter to take off her inner wear and then go to the hall. This is said to have been the plight of several other girls, as they reportedly had to leave their innerwear behind at a separate room. The complaint mentioned the mental agony faced by the students and how they were allegedly asked by supervisors - "is your innerwear important, or your future?"</p>

<p>Amid protests by various student organizations in Kerala, the state Government has taken up the matter with the Central government and the National Testing Authority, which conducts the NEET exam. Kerala's Higher Education Minister R.Bindu wrote to the Union Education Minister and the Chairperson of the NTA, demanding action and to ensure that such incidents don't recur in future.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The National Commission for Women (NCW) has also taken cognisance of this incident and written to the NTA to conduct an independent inquiry and take action. The NCW has also written to the Head of Kerala Police (Director General of Police) to conduct an investigation and register a case, besides having to share the action taken within three days.&nbsp;</p>

It was also added that the said candidate did take the examination and that there was no complaint regarding the matter during or after the exam or via E-mail to the agency. Reportedly, the authorities from the private college that was the exam centre denied role of their staff in this incident and alleged that personnel from NTA were involved.&nbsp;</p>

They also said that the situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) will be crucial in strengthening the overall bilateral relations.</p>

<p>Following the clashes in May 2021, both sides started to deploy more and more forces in the eastern Ladakh region and currently, both have around 50,000 to 60,000 troops posted along the LAC.</p>

US based Indian restaurant rechristens Dosa as 'Naked Crepe', netizens bemused

<p>BJP chief JP Nadda on July 16 declared that West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar will represent the ruling NDA’s candidacy for the position of Vice President of India. During a press conference, Nadda said, “After all considerations and consultations, we have decided to announce Kisan Putra (farmer's son) Jagdeep Dhankhar as the BJP and NDA's candidate for Vice President.” He further added that Dhankhar established himself as ‘people’s Governor.’ &nbsp;The West Bengal Governor has been associated with Bhartiya Janata Party for nearly two decades. As per sources, Mr. Dhankhar’s nomination will send a strong statement to the Jat community, to which he belongs, NDTV reported.</p>

<p>Greece's foreign minister Nikos Dendias has called for strengthening ties with India as the world faces a "maelstrom of international developments". In his address at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), he said, "we are trying to develop our relations with countries which, as I say, lie beyond the horizon: emerging powers that have similar or compatible positions with us", explaining, "I am referring to India, which is poised to become the world's most populous country next year".</p>

<p>Earlier this year, FM Nikos visited India and held talks with External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar, a visit that came after India's foreign Miniter's visit to his country last year. In his address at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), he said, "we are trying to develop our relations with countries which, as I say, lie beyond the horizon: emerging powers that have similar or compatible positions with us", explaining, "I am referring to India, which is poised to become the world's most populous country next year".
