<p>Dr&nbsp;N Purnachandra Rao, the chief scientist at NGRI, told ANI&nbsp;that the Indian plate is shifting roughly five&nbsp;centimetres&nbsp;each year, which is causing tension to build up along the Himalayas. The Earth's surface is made up of numerous plates that are continuously&nbsp;in motion.</p>

<p>"We have a strong network of 18 seismograph stations in Uttarakhand. The region referred to as the seismic gap between Himachal and the western part of Nepal including Uttarakhand is prone to earthquakes that might occur at any time," added Dr N Purnachandra Rao.</p>

<p>On 13 March, Minister of State for Defence in a written reply to Rajya Sabha member Tiruchi Siva said, the Indian government has given focus on indigenisation of various defence items to achieve ‘Aatmanirbharta’ (self-reliance).&nbsp;</p>

<p>The data states total defence export value stands at Rs. 13,399 crores as of 6 March, 2023. For 2021-22, the data stood at Rs. 12,815 crores while for 2020-21 it was Rs 8,435 crores.&nbsp;</p>

<p>India presently exports defence supplies to over 80 countries, name of those cannot be divulged due to strategic reasons, as per a government release.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Hindustan Times reported that an attendee told that the Surrey Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) couldn't control the protesters, and advised the High Commissioner against attending the function.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"India's energy infrastructure requires a USD3 trillion investment in the coming decades, and our study finds that prioritizing new energy assets that are cost-effective and clean is crucial for long-term financial sustainability," said Berkeley Lab staff scientist and co-author Amol Phadke in a statement issued by the Department of Energy and quoted by PTI.&nbsp;</p>
