<p>Gotabaya as the defence secretary in 2009, played a key role in the defeat of LTTE militant group but that also raised issues of human right violations. And then China is the dragon in the room when it comes to Bejing's growing footprint in South Asia. New Delhi has dismissed such concerns.</p>

<p>Earlier this year, Prime Minister Modi had made a solidarity visit to Sri Lanka after the Easter Sunday terror attacks in the country.</p>

<p>During the visit, PM Modi paid respects at one of the attack sites - St Anthony’s Church. PM Modi has visited Sri Lanka three&nbsp;times since 2014 -&nbsp;with the first visit being in 2015, followed by a visit in 2017 and then June 2019.</p>

<p>King Abdullah, accompanied by a large business delegation and officials, is in India on a three-day official visit.&nbsp;</p>

<p>On Wednesday, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj met King Abdullah, who then visited IIT-Delhi to explore possible tie-ups with technical institutes in Jordan. He also took part in an in a CEO roundtable followed by the India-Jordan Business Forum meeting. In his address to the forum organised by FICCI, King Abdullah asserted that there were &ldquo;lots of opportunities for Indian companies to come and work in Jordan&rdquo;.</p>

<p>Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived in India on Sunday on a six-day visit, during which he will hold extensive talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Israeli PM Netanyahu is the second Prime Minister from his country after Ariel Sharon to visit India in the last 25 years. &nbsp;</p>

<p>He is accompanied by a 130-member delegation from various sectors including cyber, agriculture and defence. &nbsp;</p>

<p>His visit assumes even more significance as it comes just over six months after the visit of Modi to Israel, the first ever Indian prime ministerial visit to the West Asian nation. &nbsp;</p>

<p>The visiting Israeli PM, on Monday, will be given a ceremonial reception at 10 am at the Rashtrapati Bhawan which will be followed by the wreath laying at the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Netanyahu will also meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House and hold delegation level talks. &nbsp;</p>

<p>The two sides will sign agreements and also issue a joint press statement at Hyderabad House around 1 pm. &nbsp;</p>

<p>The Israeli Prime Minister will pay a visit to President Ram Nath Kovind later in the day.</p>
