Erika Ender made it to this year&#39;s official list of nominees of the Grammys and it&#39;s a first for any Latina performer to be included in the top honour.&nbsp;

She has now become the first Latina to be nominated for song of the year in the history of Grammys.&nbsp;

Erika got to know of the news while she was preparing to perform alongside&nbsp;Roberto Carlos at an annual Christmas special in Rio de Janeiro when she suddenly got a congratulatory tweet from the academy.&nbsp;

Reacting the news, she said, &quot;As I said in the Latin Grammys, it&#39;s not about competing, it&#39;s about sharing. We are several colleagues sharing as a dream team. Those who sing are obviously the face, but there are those of us who also write and produce, the people from behind who made it all possible -- [it&#39;s about] the importance of union through music.&quot;&nbsp;

Taylor Swift`s Reputation album will not be eligible this year due to its November release, but she garnered two nominations including writing country group Little Big Town`s Better Man. The most notable omission from Tuesday`s Grammy nominations was Canadian hip hop artist Drake, whose More Life album dominated streaming, charts and radio play since its March release. British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, whose "Divide" album topped charts around the world, garnered two nominations in the pop categories. Lady Gaga and Kesha landed two nods each in the same categories as Sheeran. Pop star Katy Perry, who is yet to win a Grammy award, did not score a single nomination for her Witness album.
