<p>INS Tabar arrived at London Harbour on Aug 7 during its ongoing Operational Deployment to European Nations. Upon its arrival, the frontline warship was welcomed by the Indian diaspora amid cheer and celebrations at the iconic Tower Bridge.</p>

<p>INS Tabar was in Hamburg, Germany from July 17-20. “The conduct of MPX between Indian Navy and German Navy off Kiel Canal signifies Indian Navy’s outreach and sustenance efforts also marking a significant milestone in the maritime cooperation between the two countries,” the release stated.</p>

<p>INS Tabar was commissioned on 19 April 2004, in Kaliningrad, Russia and it arrived at its home port Mumbai on 31 July 2004. Alongside its sister ships, INS Talwar (meaning 'sword') and INS Trishul (meaning 'trident'), INS Tabar is part of the Indian Navy's Western Naval Command headquartered in Mumbai.</p>

<p>The crew of INS Tabar also offer community service to the retired pensioners of the Royal Army at Old Age Home, highlighting the ideology of Indian PM Narendra Modi of Vasudhaiva Kutumbkam. These engagements seek to enhance bilateral relations, particularly in the maritime domain between both countries and also offer an opportunity to showcase Indian culture.</p>

<p>The British and Indian Navies also share a long-standing partnership for a bilateral naval exercise called Konkan, which has been held annually for the past several years.</p>

Photos were also circulated on social media forums showing an advanced version of a navy warship in service — Type 054A.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As quoted by the South China Morning Post (SCMP), Senior Colonel Wu Qian, the ministry spokesperson, said on Thursday (August 31) said it was "a normal arrangement based on the needs of national security and the overall development of naval construction, with the aim of defending national sovereignty, security and development interests and better safeguarding world and regional peace and stability".&nbsp;</p>

<p>Media reports claimed and photos on the Sina Weibo microblogging site also showed that the new vessel at the Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding docks last week. The SCMP report mentioned that the Shanghai shipyard is a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation. Some reports claimed that it was launched on August 26, but WION can't independently verify it.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to some analysts, Type 054B is the larger and more advanced version of Type 054A, which currently forms the backbone of the PLAN (People's Liberation Army Navy).&nbsp;In the photos, the hull of the new ship is estimated to be 10 metres longer, it shows that the vessel could accommodate the Z-20 helicopters and drones.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to reports, the vessel has a 6,000-ton displacement, which is 2,000 tons more than the Type 054A. The Type 054A is expected to be replaced by the new warship in the future, and production of the latter has either ended or is soon to do so.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As quoted by SCMP, Lu Li-shih, who is a former instructor at Taiwan's Naval Academy in Kaohsiung, said the new frigate also appeared to be equipped with the same advanced sonar technology that is used on the Type 055 destroyer.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The former INS Vindhyagiri valiantly served for nearly 31 years, participating in challenging operations and multinational exercises between July 8, 1981, and June 11, 2012.</p>

<p>The new 'Vindhyagiri' not only honours this legacy but also represents India's unwavering commitment to its naval heritage while propelling itself into an era of self-reliant defense capabilities.</p>

<h2><strong>A showcase of 'Aatma Nirbharta'&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>The ambitious Project 17A initiative is making strides with remarkable progress. Currently, four ships are being constructed by MDL (Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited) and three by GRSE (Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Limited).</p>

<p>Cruise missiles and missiles fired from a mobile land-based missile system inside Syria were complemented by jets fired from Russia&#39;s sole aircraft carrier, Admiral Kuznetsov, which was used for the first time, defence minister Sergei Shoigu said.</p>
