Free Balochistan Movement chief Hyrbyair Marri has attacked the United Nations for "ignoring" Balochistan despite Pakistan being involved in grave human rights violations in the region, including enforced disappearances of Baloch activists.&nbsp;

Marri said they were hoping that President of the UN General Assembly, María Fernanda Espinosa, would visit Balochistan during her recent visit to the Asia-Pacific and meet Baloch leaders and take up their issue.

"So far, there has been no report that she has taken up the issue of enforced disappearances and other human rights violations against the Baloch, Pashtun and Sindhi people during her meeting with the Prime Minister of Pakistan and other officials of the occupying state," he said.

Marri said that due to the "silence" of the UN and other international human rights groups, Pakistan was "encouraged to continue with crimes" in Balochistan (with international immunity).

''Pakistan is committing the worst forms of crimes in Balochistan. In January 2014, three mass graves containing more than a hundred bodies were discovered in Tootak, Khuzar. Another mass grave was discovered in Panjgur in July 2018. In 2019, at least ten dead bodies were discovered near Quetta and hurriedly buried in Dasht Tera Mill area of Quetta without ascertaining their identity,” he said in a statement.

He highlighted the protest by the families of missing Baloch persons, and added, “Many Baloch, including women and children, continue to protest in the cold weather, in hope of the recovery and release of their loved ones. Some of the abducted Baloch were seized as early as 2001. Yet, their families still don’t know whether they have been killed in custody or are still alive. They have a right to be informed about the condition and well-being of their abducted relatives but Pakistan has no respect for UN charter and International Conventions.”

Marrie said the UNGA chief had spoken about the Kashmir issue with Pakistani authorities during her visit to Pakistan and said that the issue should be resolved peacefully. She also met with Pakistan`s Chief of Army, General Bajwa. However, even after repeated requests, she did not visit Balochistan.

"The United Nations closed its eyes when the Pakistani Army used rape as a war tool against the Bengali people in the 1970s, and it continues to ignore Pakistan’s` dirty war in Balochistan,” he said.&nbsp;

"While she was visiting Pakistan, the Baloch social media users ran a four-day campaign in their efforts to draw UN’s attention to the plight of the Baloch nation and highlight the issue of enforced disappearances in Balochistan. The Free Balochistan Movement had announced #UNVisitBalochistan hashtag and had urged Baloch and other human rights activists including Pashtun and Sindhis to support the Baloch campaign on social media," said Marri.

He said the failure of Espinosa to visit Balochistan has led to a sense of disappointment and anger against the UN for not taking the Balochistan issue seriously.&nbsp;

The FBM activists distributed several thousand leaflets during their three-day campaign in Germany`s Braunschweig city asserting that Baloch people are facing torture, abductions, mass executions and military operations among other human rights abuses and violations.

In a nutshell, Baloch people face state genocidal policies from Pakistan and Iran just because they own a land rich in resources.

"Today we are marking the day in Germany and many other countries simultaneously as the `International Human Rights Day` declared by the United Nations in 1948, the same year when Pakistan occupied Balochistan. Since then, Balochistan is struggling for their basic right of freedom and liberty but it is sad to see the Baloch voice has always been unnoticed and unheard," the FBM activists highlighted.

They Baloch activists have urged all free-born human beings to come forward, raise voices and fulfil their moral responsibilities, so that "we, Baloch, also avail our right to live free and get rid of the inhuman treatment from ruthless Islamic fanatics who are also responsible for terrorising the world."

The enforced disappearances are an urgent issue in Balochistan. The Pakistani army and security forces have abducted and disappeared, at least 20,000 Baloch political and human rights activists since 2000. So far mutilated bodies of about 6000 of these victims have been discovered in different parts of Balochistan.

In London, the FBM activist though a letter informed Amnesty International that enforced disappearances of Baloch political and human rights activists are not a new occurrence.

The Punjabi army of Pakistan illegally occupied the independent state of Balochistan in March 1948.

"To this day, Pakistan has carried out five major military operations in Balochistan. As a result of which thousands of Baloch have been killed, disappeared and over a million have been displaced. The policy of abduction, torture, rape, and killing of Baloch women and children in Balochistan started with illegal occupation of Balochistan by Pakistan army. Targeting Baloch women and children has been a chief policy of Pakistan to pressurise the Baloch political and human rights activists to stop their activities for independence and for the Baloch freedom fighters to hand themselves into the Pakistani army," the speakers explained.

The participants said that for the recovery of their loved ones, the Baloch families have organised the longest march in human history from Shal, the capital city in eastern Balochistan, to Islamabad capital city of Pakistan about 3000 kilometres in 2013. These families have also been sitting in from Quetta Press Club for more than 3400 Days.

"East Balochistan is under total military occupation of Pakistan and all news about Balochistan is controlled by the Pakistani army. There is no independent media, reporter or a human rights organisation in Balochistan," Baloch leader Shahzavar Baloch said.

The FBM activists have urged Amnesty International and other Human Rights activists to take a few steps for ending enforced-disappearance in Balochistan. They have demanded a formation of an independent committee comprising the representatives of the UN, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, Asian Human Rights Commission, Red Cross, Independent academics and Baloch representatives to investigate and report openly all cases of Baloch abducted and disappeared persons by the Islamic State of Pakistan.

The Baloch activists also require free access to all independent media to every corner of Balochistan to reveal the true situation and to report actual facts about Balochistan to the world. They also sought for an immediate release of all abducted Baloch political and human rights activists, especially innocent Baloch women and children.

Lastly, they also demanded an identification and prosecution of all members of the Punjabi army of Pakistan and their proxies who have committed crimes against humanity in Balochistan in an open and independent court.

Free Balochistan Movement hold protests to mark 'International Human Rights Day'

Marking the "Black Day" in Balochistan, the members of Free Balochistan Movement (FBM) on Monday organised simultaneous protests, rallies and awareness campaigns in different parts of the world.

The protests were held in UK, Germany, Austria, The Netherlands, Canada, Norway and Sweden.

The protesters highlighted the consequences faced by the people of Balochistan 20 year safter the nuclear test were conducted in Balochistan.

The people protested with large banners and placards inscribed with pictures and slogans of peopl eaffected by the tests.

The activists also distributed leaflets and explained the situation to the locals of the area.

They also got support and sympathy from the local people.

A leader of the Free Balochistan Movement claimed that Pakistan tested its nuclear weapons in the heart of Balochistan's Chaghai district without the will and consent of the Baloch nation.

He added, "The residual radiation impact resulting from the blasts in Raskoh mountain range have caused diseases like lung, liver, and blood cancer, skin diseases, typhoid, and infectious hepatitis, as well as serious effects on the nervous system, blood pressure, eyes, and throats, and on newborn babies."

He said on May 17, 1998, he warned that "weapons being tested in the name of the country's defence will prove to be a message of death for the people of Baluchistan. The droughts, increasing illness and continued suffering of the residents of Chaghai and surrounding districts are a reflection of our concerns in 1998."

"The civilised world remained silent on Pakistan's crime against the Baloch nation and Balochistan. They stood by with their lips sealed as Balochistan was burning before their eyes. Today, we as a nation continue to suffer the aftermath of Pakistan's nuclear weapons. Iran is also planning to make nuclear weapons and we have concerns that they will follow Pakistan's path and conduct its nuclear tests in occupied Balochistan," he added.

His statement further read, "We urge the world community, IAEA, and other international bodies to take notice of the effects of Pakistan's nuclear weapons in Balochistan. Nuclear experts should visit the region where nuclear bombs were detonated to investigate the causes of diseases that local people are suffering and remove all nuclear materials from Balochistan to save human lives and protect our precious environment."

"We also remind the world that Pakistan is an irresponsible state and its corrupt military institutions and politicians can do anything for money. That is why it is a possibility that the wealthy religious extremist will acquire nuclear weapons from Pakistan and use them against Western democracies. Hence, the world must make every effort to denuclearise Pakistan and strip it of its nuclear weapons before it is too late," the statement read.

Sami Baloch, an activist of Free Baloch Movement from Washington DC, urged the US government and people to stop supporting Pakistan as Pakistan supports ISIS, Taliban and other terrorist groups that are threat to world peace. He also said that Pakistan's nuclear weapons should be monitored because of the presence of religious groups in that country.

Five nuclear tests were conducted by Pakistan in Chagai area of Balochistan in 1998.&nbsp

The test was carried out immediately after India conducted its successful nuclear test at Pokhran on May 11 and 13, 1998.

Each year May 28 is celebrated by Pakistan as "the day of greatness" to mark the country's successful detonation of the nuclear device.&nbsp

The people of Balochistan's Chagai, however, observe it as "Black Day".

Free Balochistan Movement demands denuclearisation of Pakistan

The Free Balochistan Movement on Saturday announced to organise a worldwide protest to highlight the illegal occupation of Balochistan by Pakistan on March 27, 1948.

In a statement to media, the Free Balochistan Movement (FBM) said that &quot;since the occupation of the sovereign state of Balochistan on March 27, 1948, the Baloch have been observing the March 27 as a Black day in their history. More than 6000 abducted Baloch have been killed under-custody by Pakistan forces.

Silent protests were&nbsp;staged at various offices of the United States in Geneva,&nbsp;Switzerland against human rights violation in <a href="http://www.wionews.com/south-asia/baloch-parties-hold-anti-pak-protest-in-london-23593" target="_blank">Pakistan&#39;s Balochistan province</a>.&nbsp;

Wearing shirts with &quot;Free Balochistan&quot; written over it the protesters&nbsp;demanded sovereign Baloch state.

They also carried umbrellas with them.&nbsp;

Protest against liberating Balochistan have been on the rise in Pakistan as well as other&nbsp;parts of the world.

Such protests have also been staged in London and New York.

The protesters have been demanding basic rights against the residents of the province. They are also fighting against China Pakistan Economic Corridor citing that the construction is leading to serious impact on the environment.&nbsp;

Pakistan witnesses such protests from other parts of the country including Gilgit- Baltistan, and Pakistan occupied Kashmir.&nbsp;

Silent protests were staged at various offices of the United States in Geneva, Switzerland against human rights violation in Pakistan's Balochistan province. Protest against liberating Balochistan have been on the rise in Pakistan as well as other parts of the world. Such protests have also been staged in London and New York. They are also fighting against China Pakistan Economic Corridor citing that the construction is leading to serious impact on the environment. The people of the region also claim that their resources are not being utilised for the benefit of their region. Pakistan witnesses such protests from other parts of the country including Gilgit- Baltistan, and Pakistan occupied Kashmir. Free Balochistan Movement (FBM) activists took to the streets of Quetta protesting against Chinese involvement in Balochistan in the name of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.&nbsp;

The rally blocked the main road for several hours and saw the participation of children and women in large numbers. The demonstrators burnt China and Pakistan&#39;s flags and chanted &quot;Stop War Crimes in Balochistan&quot;, &quot;Stop Baloch Genocide&quot;, &quot;Down with Pakistan&quot; and &quot;Down with China&quot;.

The FBM is against the exploitation of Baloch&#39;s natural resources and its occupation in the name of CPEC. They also burnt effigies of Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Army chief General Raheel Sharif and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The protesters alleged that China was supporting Pakistan in committing atrocities and human rights violations against the Baluch.&nbsp;

Another protester appealed to China to stop providing support to Pakistan, saying, &quot;Today, we are here to support the Free Balochistan Movement... Pakistan is plundering Balochistan&#39;s resources.The recent condition of Balochistan depicts sad pictures. I personally appeal to the people of China to ask their government not to take part in the genocide taking place here,&quot; she said.
