The village has only about 500 people and most of them have been targeted by the person sending these letters. “Whoever’s doing it is quite professional,” village Councillor Leo Hammond told The Independent. The said person has not even spared the elderly residents, councillors and volunteers.

The letters carry hate-filled comments and filthy words. One of them told the publication that they received a blank Christmas card with only the word &nbsp;"c*nt" written on it.&nbsp;

Parish council chair, Victor Lambert, was told by the poison pen writer that they hoped "a bus on the A1079” would run them over.&nbsp;

Councillor Leo Hammond has also received eight such letters, starting from November 2022. However, he says he knows he will get some extra attention considering he is a politician.&nbsp;

The letters are being sent through the Royal Mail. Some of them are handwritten, while others are “typed on different machines” using different fonts. The size of the paper also varies. The weirdest part is the names signed at the bottom.

“Most people in Shiptonthorpe are wanting rain and floods so you are washed away never to be seen again," it adds.

The letters have been haunting the village for years. Councillor Hammond said that he received his "last letter earlier this year."

"At least two people have had them this month, and I think somebody else got one in August," he added.

There have never been any clues about who the person sending the letters is or why are they doing so. However, Councillor Hammond suspects that the person might be unhappy with certain decisions taken at the parish council.

"At the end of the day, the parish councillors and volunteers are trying to do good stuff for their local village or the local community," he said.

An investigation has been launched into the matter.

One in a Catholic area, another in a non-conformist area, and one in the Church of England section. People are shocked to learn about the mass graves and are wondering if there are more.&nbsp;

The woman was told that one of her brothers was definitely in the first mass grave but “was not alone”. She has yet to locate her other brother. The woman was told they were probably “top and tailed them in the box”.

Before the 1980s, if there was a stillbirth, it was common to take away the babies from their parents without telling them anything about their burial place. They were simply told that their child was buried alongside a 'nice person' that same day. However, the babies were reportedly just buried in mass graves.&nbsp;

Hurley told The Independent, “This is the biggest thing I have ever faced as a councillor. I’ve gone through every emotion from anger to hate – to absolute devastation."

Ever since the discovery was made, she says “countless” families looking for their relatives have contacted her.

Hurley and fellow Royton Independent councillor Jade Hughes said in a statement, “It’s a stark injustice that parents were denied the fundamental right to bury their babies, a right that should be inherent and unquestionable. This situation should stir our collective sense of fairness and empathy.”

The statement added that the woman who made the discovery was left “in tears” and “feeling a profound sense of loss and injustice”.

The Oldham Times reported that there are plans to erect a memorial for the buried children and it will be discussed at a council meeting on September 11. Documents will also be digitalised so that families can easily access them.&nbsp;

Carsley won 40 caps for the Republic of Ireland as a player and made over 300 Premier League appearances with Blackburn, Coventry, Everton and Birmingham.

In 2023 he led England to a first win at the under-21 Euros since 1984 and is familiar with a number of the current senior squad due to various coaching roles across the FA's development teams.

However, he lacks senior managerial experience apart from short caretaker spells at Brentford and Birmingham.

I can’t point a finger at one challenge as there are many challenges but the biggest challenge for me was the Covid-19 pandemic where we needed to stay together.

Question: How were the operations in the club when you joined and what changes have you made to grow the club?

Answer: The biggest change we needed was creating an environment suitable to play football which was our primary challenge. Question: You were positive about Igor Stimac and his reign as head coach of the Indian football team, so what was your take when he was sacked as the manager?

Answer: I have been in India for the last 10 years and I have seen Indian football grow in different landmarks. The Indian national team head coach job is one of the most difficult jobs in the world I believe with almost 250 applications for the post. I think Indian football needs to grow step-by-step with the first target being the continental stage. Before setting the World Cup as a target plan, India needs to become a powerhouse in Asia.

I think to take the next stage the AIFF has to be open to the idea of change and should get into the philosophy of the new manager.

British police on Wednesday (June 19) arrested two people,&nbsp;including an Indian-origin man, after environmental protesters sprayed an orange-coloured substance on Stonehenge in southwest England.

Following the incident, the Just Stop Oil protest group released a statement saying that two of its activists "decorated Stonehenge in orange powder paint" to demand that the United Kingdom's future government would legally vow to phase out fossil fuels by the year 2030.

The arrested Indian-origin man identified as 73-year-old Rajan Naidu is an environmental activist and a member of Just Stop Oil group.

The footage of the incident going viral on social media showed the protesters wearing "Just Stop Oil" branded T-shirts who sprayed orange paint on the renowned prehistoric UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The group said that they had used "orange cornflour" to spray on the historic monuments and that it would wash away with the rain.

The tragic incident occurred during a Battle of Britain event at RAF Coningsby.

After receiving reports of the crash, emergency services were dispatched off Langrick Road, Coningsby, shortly before 13:20 BST on Saturday.

The pilot who lost his life in the incident has not been identified. He was the sole occupant of the World War Two-era aircraft and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to the Lincolnshire Police.

The aircraft, belonging to the RAF's Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF), was scheduled to participate in a flyover at 13:30 BST as part of the "Lanc, Tanks and Military Machines" event at the Lincolnshire Aviation Centre in East Kirkby.

"Jof's had a really tough couple of years -- we all hope he can come back and do what he does for England and bring the A game that we know he's got."

England, who are reigning T20 world champions, are desperate to find form ahead of the tournament in the West Indies and the United States after a dismal 50-over World Cup defence in India last year.

Curran is one of eight squad members who returned early from the Indian Premier League ahead of the Pakistan series.&nbsp;

The players had little time together before the defence of their 50-over title.

"The messaging from (captain) Jos (Buttler) and the coaching staff was they wanted to get the group back together and we probably didn't have that last time," said Curran.

"We've been apart for a while so these games are going to be really crucial. We want to be playing as a team and get used to our roles.

"There's a lot of buzz around the group, it seems like we're back to our energy and it seems like the boys are really fizzed about this trophy hopefully coming back."
