This feature works surprisingly well and is convenient. Let's be frank, you don't want to be caught nodding your head to your favourite tunes when your boss is yelling out for you!</p>

<p>There is no active noise-cancelling feature by choice and some may find this annoying at this price point. I, for one, use earphones as a support function to go wireless, and not to drown out the noise. So, if true ANC is your goal, opt for the Apple Airpods Pro or Sony's own ANC leader, the WF-1000XM4.</p>

<p>Sony is known for its noise-cancelling audio category which has set the bar high for the competition. The Sony LinkBuds, however, are a curious proposition. But I find these to be very cosmetic in nature and not value adds.</p>

<p>Spectacular, overpowering, intense -- these are adjectives you probably wouldn't use to describe the sound quality of the LinkBuds. And that is because they are hoping to fulfil another goal. The LinkBuds let you enjoy music while being connected to the mundane yet important demands of the real world. The sound is a bit flat at times even while listening to high-adrenaline beats.</p>

<p>But if you're looking for great ambient sound in a comfortable fit of earphones, the LinkBuds are your best bet.</p>

Sony LinkBuds review: Small size, decent sound

<p>Tv reality star-entrepreneur Kim Kardashian is expanding her territory. The fashion mogul announced her Beats x Kim collection with Apple. She modelled wearing three sets of the brand’s well-liked Fit Pro earpods that she designed. The new pods will be available in three neutral tones-Moon, Dune, and Earth, which are meant to either "blend in or stand out," as Kardashian explains.</p>

<p>Sharing a teaser video on Instagram a day before, Kardashian is seen wearing a metallic bronze-coloured front-zip crop top, which she matched with bike shorts, Page Six reported. She is being given touch-ups by her team along with adjusting the headphones in her ear.</p>

<p>Before I begin talking about the new product that I have been using for the last two weeks, here's a confession. I love my AirPods. I am so accustomed to them that I don't even realise when I wear them to work, to the washroom, sometimes while watching the TV and even during serious conversations. They have become a habit.</p>

<p>So, can a new set of in-ears make me ditch my AirPods? Let it be said that I don't use the noise-cancelling AirPods Pro, so this may be an unfair comparison. But even so, the new Sony WF-1000XM4 is slowly, steadily motivating me to make the switch.</p>

<p>The pricing is quite competitive for the segment at Rs 19,990. Right at the onset, pair them with the Sony Headphones Connect app which will guide you on how to set up your new earbuds.</p>

<p>The new Sony earbuds look sleek and stylish and are lighter than previous iterations. The grey colour with dull gold accents makes them look elegant and are light enough to carry anywhere. If you're an AirPods user, you may feel a bit overwhelmed about the size of the Sony earbuds which is why getting the right fit into your ear is essential to enjoy the sound quality. It may take you a few minutes to get accustomed to the new earbuds but once you do, you won't have to worry about losing an earbud. They are smaller and lighter and pretty comfortable once fitted in. You also get an extra pair of seals in the box which is quite useful.</p>

<p><strong>PERFORMANCE</strong></p>

<p>I paired the Sony earbuds with my iPhone and was setting myself up for disappointment since I knew I'd be missing out on quite a few features. For one, only Android phones can make use of Sony's use of the LDAC codec to transmit music wirelessly. Confused? LDAC is Sony's proprietary audio technology which allows you to enjoy high-quality wireless audio via Bluetooth. So, Apple users who invest in the new Sony earbuds will miss out on this feature.</p>

<p>Having said that, the new processor called V1 provides crystal-clear audio. Consuming content solely on my phone is something I am guilty of and whether it was an action film, a melodrama or documentary, the Sony earbuds made consuming content a delight. The noise-cancelling works so well that my husband was seen flailing his arms desperately to catch my attention as I drowned out the world while watching a new Netflix documentary!&nbsp;</p>

<p>Don't get me wrong, the noise cancellation is not so overwhelming that you feel you're sitting in a bubble. Here's a suggestion, turn on the ANC if you're in public and don't want to hear the noise and humdrum of daily life; turn it off in the office unless you want your co-workers to have to yell for attention.</p>

<p>A word of praise for the Speak-to-Chat feature which lets you have conversations with earbuds in. What this means is that if someone wants to talk to you while you're immersed in your favourite tunes, the earbuds pause the music without any prompt and you can continue talking. This feature is quite intuitive and worked well 6 out of 10 times for me which isn't bad at all.</p>

<p>There's also something called "Adaptive Sound Control", a feature which will keep popping up on the Headphones Connect app. The new Sony earbuds can adapt to the environment of the listener for an "ideal listening experience". As I shuttled from home to office, there were noticeable changes in the sound quality and while they were not much of value addition, there's some great software innovation here.</p>

<p>I also travelled to the hills with these earbuds and boy, oh boy, there's something so liberating about listening to Prateek Kuhad's melodies on the Sony earbuds with the ANC turned on, watching the hills and valleys roll by. I won't lie, the Sony earbuds performed better than my AirPods. The fit gets more comfortable over time and listening for long hours feels like a breeze.</p>

Drown out of the world with the new Sony earbuds

<p>Apple launched its third-generation AirPods at its ‘Unleash’ event with a redesign, which is similar to the AirPods Pro.</p>

<p>The new Airpods comes with sweat and water-resistant, along with spatial audio. They also come with adaptive EQ as well, which was earlier seen on Apple AirPods Pro as well.</p>

<p>Unlike the earlier model, the Apple AirPods (3rd Generation) come with an upgraded design with shorter stems to provide a better grip and improved ergonomics.</p>

<p>The next-generation AirPods also come with a wireless charging case as standard that supports Apple's MagSafe.</p>

<p>In addition to the new AirPods, Apple brought the Apple Music Voice service and new HomePod mini colour options, namely Blue, Orange, and Yellow.</p>

<p>The company is putting a big emphasis on spatial audio and Dolby Atmos music mixes with the new AirPods. They’ll support the same head-tracking capabilities as the AirPods Pro and AirPods Max, which also apply when watching video.</p>

<p>Already seen by many as the champion of voice call quality, Apple claims to have further improved microphone performance on the latest AirPods. They “feature AAC-ELD, a superior speech codec that offers full HD voice quality, providing clear, natural communication for FaceTime calls.”</p>

<p>The new AirPods also include a skin-detect sensor that is claimed to help accurately discern if the earbuds are in the ear or in a pocket or on a table and pause playback when removed.</p>

<p>On the battery performance, Apple claims that the AirPods (3rd Generation) can deliver up to six hours of listening time and up to four hours of talk time.</p>

<p>Furthermore, the new AirPods has been claimed to deliver about an hour of battery life in just five minutes of charging. Users will also get 30 hours of total listening time with four additional charges in the case.</p>

<p>The earbuds will&nbsp;be available in more than 26 other countries starting October 26.</p>

<p>H.G. Wells wrote the story The Land Ironclads which was published in the Strand Magazine in 1903. His story took the then-current technology of metal-hulled warships and put them on land, creating war machines- tanks. Wells&rsquo;s conceptualised modern day tanks were approximately 100 feet long and rolled on eight pairs of wheels, each of which had its own independent turning axle. A tower in the top of the machine let the captain survey the scene. In reality, the first tanks were deployed on the battlefield in 1916 during the battle of the Somme.</p>

The story was first printed in Modern Electrics magazine in 1911. It spoke about a device called the &ldquo;telephot&rdquo; that let people have eye contact while speaking across long distances.</p>

Paperless money, security cameras, nuclear weapons and more just stepped out of a book into our reality

It is said that science fiction is about making the improbable seem possible. Writers of the genre postulate a world of the future. And while some of their ideas can end up remaining a fantasy, there are a number of times when their predictions have been right on the money. Here’s 9 times sci-fi writers were spot-on about technological advancements: Debit/Credit Cards When Edward Bellamy wrote Looking Backward in 1888, people only relied on paper money. His book introduced the concept of universal credit where citizens of his future utopia carried a card that allowed them to spend on goods and services without paper money changing hands. The book was a huge success.
