PM Modi alleged that the Congress had shared a close alliance with DMK for nearly three decades, with the DMK repeatedly helping Congress survive political crises, including during the UPA government before 2014. But the Congress abandoned the DMK when political circumstances changed.

Vijay attacked Tamil Nadu's ruling DMK and opposition AIADMK, saying they were no different from one another. Comparing the manifestos of the DMK and AIADMK, Vijay said that there are hardly any differences between what both parties shared in their respective documents.

Chief Minister Stalin paid a few crores and got the Congress party to ally with them. However, the true Congress supporters are with us, Vijay claimed. Minority communities are with Vijay, because we(TVK) are truly secular.
