<p>A customer has accused Swiggy Instamart of a ‘scam’ for delivering underweight vegetables. The incident came to light when the customer weighed the vegetables using a scale and shared his experience on Reddit.</p>

<p>The image shared by the user on Reddit shows that the cauliflower he received from Swiggy Instamart weighed 145 grams only, while the vegetable weight on the app is listed as between 400-600 grams. Upon checking the weight of other vegetables, the customer found that most vegetables he ordered were underweight.</p>

<p>“Finally reported the issue to govt's Ingram consumer helpline and also mailed my bank to reverse credit the amount,” he said.</p>

<h2>'Not some innocent mistake'</h2>

<p>The Reddit post got several comments, with some sharing similar experiences and the rest expressing concern about the online grocery store.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“I have a digital scale. Got underweight products,” a user said, sharing their experience with Swiggy Instamart. “Same story gave me a 50% refund and I agreed. Then I realised, what about the others who don't have a scale? How widespread this practice is?”</p>

<p>“Think about how many orders they deliver every single day and how often they underweight stuff compared to what’s printed on the stickers. It’s not some innocent mistake; it’s a system,” a user commented on the post.</p>

<p>Another agreed, “This should be a direct consumer court case, they should be fined and you can follow the case with cheating.”</p>

<h2>Swiggy's response to the incident</h2>

<p>In response to the incident, Swiggy has issued a statement: “At Swiggy Instamart, merchants undergo a thorough vetting process before they are onboarded, which includes verifying certifications such as FSSAI. Once onboarded, they are mandated to ensure that all supplies are subjected to rigorous quality checks and any shipment that doesn’t meet the criteria is completely rejected.”</p>

<p>“This particular instance is an anomaly by the merchant, and we are investigating how it happened. We take customer feedback seriously, and the issue has been resolved with the customer. Customer trust is our top priority, and we remain fully committed to upholding the highest standards of transparency to ensure such instances do not occur,”&nbsp;said a Swiggy Instamart spokesperson.</p>

<p>India’s 19-year-old entrepreneur and founder of grocery delivery app Zepto, Kaivalya Vohra, became the latest person to join the rich list club of 1,103 Indians across 122 cities, who now have cumulatively accumulated their wealth of Rs 100 trillion, according to IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List 2022.</p>

<p>The report said that 221 billionaires made it on the 2022 list, down 16 compared with last year, while 13 people born in the 1990s have been added—all of whom are self-made, including Vohra.</p>

<p>The report further noted that these 1,103 Indians have a net worth of Rs 10 billion each — an increase of 62 per cent over five years.</p>

<p>“Cumulative wealth has increased by 9.4 per cent, while average wealth has decreased by 1 per cent. 602 individuals saw their wealth increase or stay the same, of which 149 are new faces, whilst 415 saw their wealth drop and there were 50 dropouts," IIFL Wealth and Hurun India said in a statement.</p>

<p>The study further said that over 82 per cent of the billionaires on the list are above the age of 50, and only 0.6 per cent of the rich on the list are below 30.</p>

<p>The study noted that the pharma sector contributed the most to the list, with 126 entrants, while Chemicals and Financial Services added the greatest number of new entrants.</p>

<p>“Gurugram debuted in the top 10 cities producing the most number of entrants and we have a record addition of 149 new faces to the list from 32 industries and 36 cities," said Anirudha Taparia, Joint CEO, IIFL Wealth.</p>

<p>The study pegs Adani and family's wealth at a staggering Rs 10.94 trillion.</p>

<p>“The trends prove that India has taken booster shots against the global crisis. Be it the Ukraine war or inflationary pressures, the India growth story continues despite all odds as India also gave a new No. 2 —&nbsp;Gautam Adani&nbsp;— to the Hurun Global Rich List,” said Anas Rahman Junaid, managing director and chief researcher, Hurun India.</p>

<p>“The unprecedented wealth creation in the past five years in India, when other countries are stalling and are in recessionary mode, reaffirms India as the ‘engine of growth’ for the global economy. Remember, the new additions to the list have occurred at a time when valuations are at a low, both in the listed and privately-held companies,” said Junaid.</p>

<p>However, Italy turned out to be difficult dough to knead for the American company. Even in its last year's fourth-quarter report, Domino's franchise partner had noted the increased competition.</p>

<p>“We attribute the issue to the significantly increased level of competition in the food delivery market with both organized chains and ‘mom &amp; pop’ restaurants delivering food, to service and restaurants reopening post-pandemic and consumers out and about with revenge spending." said ePizza in its report.&nbsp;</p>
