Angry Twitter users slammed an unidentified person who was trying to make fun of the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a video that has gone viral on social media forum.&nbsp;

In the short clip, the man who is believed to be from New York, US, was pointing out PM Modi's image on&nbsp;the coronavirus (COVID-19) certificate, which is issued by the government of India for those who are jabbed.&nbsp;

The video has been shared by Anurag Minus Verma, whose Twitter handle is @confusedvichar. In his caption, he wrote: "Showed the vaccine certificate outside a Blues club in Manhattan, New York as it was mandatory. The certificate had the picture of Modi. American gentleman who was checking it was totally amazed by the Modi picture in the certificate."&nbsp;

In the comment section, users slammed the content of the video, saying, "Not nice, making fun of PM and posting on Twitter. Please have some decency."&nbsp;

Another user wrote: "I just looked up my mum's certificate and it has all her details at the top and at the bottom there is Modi's message. I find nothing wrong with it."&nbsp;

"He has managed COVID 19 better than ANYONE ELSE on the planet. Tell them their Pfizer vaccine is nowhere near COVAXIN. Indian supremacy in COVID vaccine sector is the route [sic] cause lf this jealousy," another user wrote.&nbsp;

Social media furious over video of US man appearing to mock PM Modi over Covid certificate

European Union’s (EU) digital Covid certificates bearing Adolf Hitler’s name and date of birth has been doing the rounds online, raising questions over the safety and efficacy of the vaccine passport system.

Several users found a QR code online on Tuesday, and when they tried to scan with verifications apps, they found that it was a digital Covid certificate with the name ‘Adolf Hitler’ written on it, along with the date of birth stating January 1,1900, according to a report by Russia Today.

It was reported that several versions of the code were shared on tech forums, some with the name capitalised, while others with a different birthday.

According to Italian news agency ANSA, which has quoted sources, some of the keys used to generate the European Green Pass were stolen and distributed on programming networks to create false COVID-19 health certificates.

However, it couldn’t be verified whether the stolen keys used to generate fake Covid passes were forged to validate Hitler’s European Green Pass.

Following the revelations, a series of meetings were held at the EU level on Wednesday to examine the situation, ANSA reported.

The officials decided to cancel all the passes created with those keys, and said the theft of the generation keys did not take place in Italy.

According to reports, the private key used to verify Hitler’s pass was revoked as of Wednesday, but a Polish user on one tech forum still claimed to be selling working certificates, as did some posters on the so-called ‘dark web.’

This is not the first time that fake Covid vaccine certificates have proliferated the markets in Europe. There have been reports of people in France splurging hundreds of euros for fake health passes in an online black market.

A black market for fraudulent health passes had sprung up on Snapchat —despite the risk of jail sentences.

Accounts on the social networking app that rarely last for more than a were found to openly advertise their counterfeit documents.

Thousands came together in the streets on Bern to protest the introduction of Covid certificates that are being rolled out to curb the spread of virus.

Massive crowds flooded the capital city of Switzerland expressing anger over the measures adopted by authorities to curb spread of Covid.

Since September 13, Covid certificates that prove that the individual has been vaccinated, or proof that the person has recovered from Covid or a negative PCR test have been made compulsory to gain access to any public space.

Locals dressed in costumes and gathered on streets to ask the government to rollback the Covid certificates. The protestors claimed the community should be able to follow the traditional Swiss values.

Unlike earlier protests, this demonstration was completely peaceful and non-violent. The protest was approved by the local authorities. Even though authorities were present at the streets, the demonstrators expressed their anger in form of slogans and chants.

Local media claimed that the authorities had allowed the demonstrators to gather to make sure that the protest don’t get violent.

Early in&nbsp;October, police and demonstrators had clashed violently. Local police officers have had deploy water cannons to disperse several unauthorised protests.

The European Parliament on Thursday agreed its position on how a&nbsp;Covid&nbsp;certificate&nbsp;should work, bringing the&nbsp;EU&nbsp;closer&nbsp;to launching a document to open up&nbsp;travel&nbsp;within the bloc.

Europe intends to have a&nbsp;certificate&nbsp;showing the bearer's vaccination status,&nbsp;Covid&nbsp;test results and/or evidence of having survived the disease up and running in June, in time for the continent's summer vacation period.

While technical work has been ongoing to ensure the&nbsp;certificate&nbsp;is recognised across all 27&nbsp;EU&nbsp;member states, final details have to be worked out involving capitals, the European Commission and the parliament.

The first change MEPs have called for to a commission proposal is the name. Instead of a "digital green&nbsp;certificate" they want to call it an "EU&nbsp;Covid-19&nbsp;certificate",&nbsp;to avoid any implication of it becoming a "vaccine passport".

They said the document should "neither serve as&nbsp;travel&nbsp;document nor become a precondition to exercise the right to free movement" and should only be in use for 12 months.

Stressing that the&nbsp;certificate&nbsp;should not result in discrimination, parliament demanded that&nbsp;Covid-19 tests for&nbsp;travel&nbsp;should be free of charge. The commission has said that this issue should be left up to member states.

The parliament's negotiation position was announced Thursday following a vote late Wednesday, with 540 MEPs in favour, 119 against, and 31 abstentions.

'Safe&nbsp;travel'

European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen welcomed the result, but ignored the proposed renaming of the&nbsp;certificate.

"The (European Parliament) adopting its position on a Digital Green&nbsp;Certificate&nbsp;is a key step towards free and safe&nbsp;travel&nbsp;this summer," she tweeted.

She urged a "swift conclusion" to the final negotiations on the document, adding: "We will have the&nbsp;EU&nbsp;(virtual verification) gateway up and running by June, while supporting the timely rollout of national systems."

Initially, the plan is for&nbsp;EU&nbsp;citizens and residents in the bloc to be able to use the&nbsp;certificate&nbsp;to avoid quarantine, testing and other obstacles to intra-EU&nbsp;travel&nbsp;that have sprung up since the start of the pandemic.

Member states, however, want to retain the option of those measures if they deem them necessary, pointing out that public health issues are their responsibility, not Brussels'.&nbsp;

Later on, the&nbsp;EU&nbsp;intends to accept certificates issued by non-EU&nbsp;countries for&nbsp;travel&nbsp;by their citizens. Talks are already going in that direction with the United States but, so far, not with former&nbsp;EU&nbsp;member Britain.

A&nbsp;certificate&nbsp;trial is to be conducted in May before the initiative is launched across all&nbsp;EU&nbsp;countries. Safeguards are to be in place against forgery and to uphold data protection.
