Asked if his experiences of childhood racism still have an impact, he said,"Yeah, it`s weird. I`ve been doing therapy. That`s what I did during Covid -- lots of therapy. Success does not erase trauma. It just doesn`t. So, I definitely had to go back through therapy and really go through my childhood." 
 
Rock says has "forgiven" anyone who has done wrong in the past and doesn`t see the benefit of calling people out now for things they did decades ago. 
 
"The key thing is, I forgive everybody that was involved. I don`t want to criticise the culture of whatever, but what happened to me happened 30 years ago. I could out everybody that called me a n***** and everybody that hit me, and put their faces on Instagram, and say their names and all that stuff, right?" Rock told Telegraph magazine. 
 
He added: "And they would never work again. Their lives would be absolutely destroyed. So I`m gonna pray that they learnt their lesson. Comedian and actor Chris Rock has said that the tenure of former US President Barack Obama was a “progress for White people” and not the Black population.

Rock, while speaking to The New York Times while promoting his upcoming series ‘Fargo’ opened up about racism in America.

“Obama becoming the president, it’s progress for White people. It’s not progress for Black people,” Rock said.

“It’s the Jackie Robinson thing. It’s written like he broke a barrier, as if there weren’t Black people that could play before him,” Rock added. “And that’s how White people have learned about racism. They think, when these people work hard enough, they’ll be like Jackie.”

Rock said “the real narrative should be that these people, the Black people, are being abused by a group of people that are mentally handicapped. And we’re trying to get them past their mental handicaps to see that all people are equal,” he said.

The comedian reasoned that “humanity isn’t progress” but that it should be expected.

“It’s only progress for the person that’s taking your humanity. If a woman’s in an abusive relationship and her husband stops beating her, you wouldn’t say she’s made progress, right? But that’s what we do with Black people. We’re constantly told that we’re making progress,” Rock said. “The relationship we’re in -- the arranged marriage that we’re in -- it’s that we’re getting beat less.”

Rock also strongly criticized House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and other Democrats for prioritizing impeachment earlier this year and blamed them for letting the coronavirus into America as they were more eager to oust President Trump. Rock compared Trump to a "5-year-old."

"Did you ever see that movie 'The Last Emperor,' where like a 5-year-old is the emperor of China?" Rock explained. "There’s a kid and he’s the king. So I’m like, it’s all the Democrats’ fault. Because you knew that the emperor was 5 years old. And when the emperor’s 5 years old, they only lead in theory. There’s usually an adult who’s like, 'OK, this is what we’re really going to do.' And it was totally up to Pelosi and the Democrats. Their thing was, 'We’re going to get him impeached,' which was never going to happen. You let the pandemic come in. Yes, we can blame Trump, but he’s really the 5-year-old."

Just a few weeks back, an old video from 'Saturday Night Live' had surfaced on the internet where host and comedian Jimmy Fallon was seen impersonating fellow comedian Chris Rock with blackface.

On Monday, the TV presenter opened up once again at the beginning of his show 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon'. 
 
Fallon said he was asked to keep mum on the matter but decided to speak out in a monologue. 
 
"Seeing what is going on in our country, I'm not going to have a normal show tonight — I'm going to have a different show. I'm going to start this personally, and then expand out, because that's where we all need to start," Fallon said referrring to the nationwide protest that has gripped American citiies over George Floyd's death. 
 
Floyd, an unarmed black man died in police custody last week after a white police officer knelt on his neck for eight minutes. 
 
"With ourselves, and looking at ourselves in the mirror. And I had to really examine myself in the mirror this week, because a story came out about me on ‘SNL,’ doing an impression of Chris Rock in blackface,” Fallon said. He added that he was “horrified” by the wake of disparagement and calls on social media questioning his character. 
 
"Not at the fact that people were trying to cancel me, or cancel the show – which is scary enough, but the thing that haunted me the most was how do I say, 'I love this person, I respect this guy more than I respect most humans, I am not a racist, I don't feel this way,'" Fallon said. 
 
"And instead, what I kept getting advised was to just stay quiet and to not say anything. And that's the advice because we're all afraid."

“What that small gesture did for me was break my own silence, and then what I started to do is talk to some experts – some of which are here tonight and this week – and I realized that the silence is the biggest crime that white guys like me, and the rest of us, are doing." 
 
"We need to say something," he said. "We need to keep saying something. And we need to stop saying 'That's not okay' more than just one day on Twitter."

Floyd, an unarmed black man died in police custody last week after a white police officer knelt on his neck for eight minutes. "With ourselves, and looking at ourselves in the mirror. And I had to really examine myself in the mirror this week, because a story came out about me on ‘SNL,’ doing an impression of Chris Rock in blackface,” Fallon said. He added that he was “horrified” by the wake of disparagement and calls on social media questioning his character. "Not at the fact that people were trying to cancel me, or cancel the show – which is scary enough, but the thing that haunted me the most was how do I say, 'I love this person, I respect this guy more than I respect most humans, I am not a racist, I don't feel this way,'" Fallon said. "And instead, what I kept getting advised was to just stay quiet and to not say anything. And that's the advice because we're all afraid." Fallon said that after first paying heed to the advice, he decided to go against it and speak up. "I took it for a minute. I took the advice and I thought, 'Oh God, I'm going to do this wrong. You're right, I'm going to say something and get myself into even more trouble. I'm going to make this worse. I don't know what to do,'" he continued. "So I thought about it, and I realized that I can't not say, 'I'm horrified and I'm sorry and I'm embarrassed.'” “What that small gesture did for me was break my own silence, and then what I started to do is talk to some experts – some of which are here tonight and this week – and I realized that the silence is the biggest crime that white guys like me, and the rest of us, are doing." "We need to say something," he said. "We need to keep saying something. And we need to stop saying 'That's not okay' more than just one day on Twitter." During the show, Fallon invited AACP president Derrick Johnson and CNN anchor Don Lemon to speak as he wanted to be a “better ally.”
