The Hong Kong flag carrier Cathay Pacific Airways has added a husband-wife duo to its no-fly list after a social media storm over the couple's&nbsp;rude behaviour towards a woman from mainland China over reclining her chair.

The Cantonese-speaking couple from Hong Kong was caught on camera by the woman who speaks Mandarin, the major language of mainland China, showing them harassing and verbally abusing her.

She posted the confrontation on the Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu, and the video went viral over the weekend, garnering nearly 29,000 comments.

The woman said that at one point, she was kicked by the couple who abused her using racially discriminatory language.

Cathay said on Sunday (Sep 22) that the couple will not be allowed in any of its flights in future, vowing to a "zero-tolerance policy” towards disrespectful behaviour.

In what seems to be addition to airplane related incidents in recent days, a Korean Air airplane struck a stationary Cathay Pacific plane at an airport in Japan. The planes 'came into contact' with each other while taxiing at the airport. Both airlines have confirmed the incident.

The fresh incident took place at New Chitose Airport which serves Sapporo on the northern island of Hokkaido.

"Our aircraft, which was stationary at the time with no customers nor crew onboard, was struck by a Korean Air A330 which was taxiing past," said Cathay Pacific in a statement.

Korean Air also issued a statement.

"A Korean Air aircraft came into contact with a Cathay aircraft during pushback at New Chitose (Sapporo) Airport when the third-party ground handler vehicle slipped due to heavy snow. There were no injuries and the airline is cooperating with all relevant authorities," said the airline.

As per Japan's public broadcaster NHK, the operator of the airport received information about the incident around 5:30 PM (0830 GMT).

The pilot has accused Cathay Pacific of not having enough staff to handle the operating flights within the allotted hours. "To make a short haul roster hit 900 hours, we are doing several take-offs and landings that we have never seen before," he said. He warned that extending the flight time limitation beyond 900 hours in 12 months would lead to more pilots quitting. "Other airlines spent years to retain their workforce and experienced [staff], but Cathay Pacific is chasing people away," he said. Cathay Pacific flight en route to Japan diverted as cargo door 'found unlocked' mid-air

At least 11 people were wounded on a Cathay Pacific flight at Hong Kong's international airport early on Saturday after the plane aborted takeoff due to a technical glitch, the airline said in a statement.

The flight, which was set to depart from Hong Kong to Los Angeles, had 17 crew members and 293 passengers aboard.

It performed "an aborted takeoff in accordance with standard procedures after a technical issue was detected by the crew."

The victims of the incident sustained wounds during a precautionary evacuation at the back gate when the passengers were exiting the aeroplane using five-door escape slides, said Cathay.

"Nine of the eleven passengers who received treatment at hospitals have been discharged," it said. "Our colleagues will continue to provide support to the two hospitalised passengers and their families."

In the statement, the airline company apologised for the disruption caused by the incident.

One of the plane's tyres overheated causing it to burst, public broadcaster RTHK reported, citing police.

The company had said on Wednesday that it had discovered "suspicious activity" in March and launched an investigation in May which revealed that personal data had been breached.

Shares of Cathay Pacific plunged 6.5 per cent on Thursday morning sinking to HK$ 9.93.

The data breach information reportedly included passport numbers, identity card numbers, email addresses and credit card details.&nbsp;

"We are in the process of contacting affected passengers, using multiple communications channels, and providing them with information on steps they can take to protect themselves," Cathay Pacific Chief Executive Officer Rupert Hogg had said in a statement while revealing the data fraud.

"We have no evidence that any personal data has been misused," Hogg added.

"The following personal data was accessed: passenger name, nationality, date of birth, phone number, email, address, passport number, identity card number, frequent flyer programme membership number, customer service remarks, and historical travel information," he informed.&nbsp;

CEO&nbsp;Hogg also said 403 expired credit card numbers and 27 credit card numbers with no CVV were also accessed.&nbsp;

Shares of Cathay Pacific plunged 6.5 per cent on Thursday morning sinking to HK$ 9.93. The data breach information reportedly included passport numbers, identity card numbers, email addresses and credit card details. "We are in the process of contacting affected passengers, using multiple communications channels, and providing them with information on steps they can take to protect themselves," Cathay Pacific Chief Executive Officer Rupert Hogg had said in a statement while revealing the data fraud. "We have no evidence that any personal data has been misused," Hogg added. "The following personal data was accessed: passenger name, nationality, date of birth, phone number, email, address, passport number, identity card number, frequent flyer programme membership number, customer service remarks, and historical travel information," he informed. CEO Hogg also said 403 expired credit card numbers and 27 credit card numbers with no CVV were also accessed.
