India-Canada Relations: Diplomatic Showdown Over Hardeep Singh Nijjar's Murder | WION Originals

The US on Tuesday (Oct 15) sided with its Five Eyes partner Canada over escalating diplomatic row between Ottawa and New Delhi, accusing India of ‘not cooperating’. Canada has accused Indian government and its diplomats of being involved in the murder of Sikh separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar last year, citing an ongoing probe. New Delhi has rubbished these allegations, saying Canada has failed to provide ‘a shred of evidence’ backing up these ‘absurd’ claims.

India-Canada Row: US Urges India To Consider Canada's Allegations Seriously

<p>Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has admitted that his government did not have hard evidence when it alleged that the Indian government was involved in the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Trudeau made the admission while&nbsp;testifying before the Public Inquiry into Foreign Interference in Federal Electoral Processes and Democratic Institutions in Ottawa.</p>

<p>Trudeau said Canada had no proof before publicly accusing India of killing Nijjar and only provided intelligence. He appeared before the committee after the latest charge that Indian diplomats were involved in collecting information and using criminal gangs for targeting members of pro-Khalistan movement in Canada.</p>

<p>"Canada asked India to cooperate. Their (India) ask was for proof. We asked for Indian security agencies to investigate further and cooperate with us. Because at that point what we (Canada) had was intelligence," Trudeau said.</p>

<p>"Their [Indian government] ask was how much do you know? Give us the evidence you have on this and our response was well...it's within your security agencies, you should be looking into how much they know. You should be engaging," said Trudeau.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"At that point, it was primarily intelligence and not hard evidentiary proof. So we said, let's work together and look into your security services and maybe we can get that out," he added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Canadian PM also added that Indian diplomats were collecting information on Canadians and passing it to Indian gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

The woman further found that her husband was also renting an apartment in Colorado to have sex with escorts and other women. What did the woman do after finding out about her husband's secret life? In the recently released book, Waite said that she failed to come to terms with the secret double life of her husband and slowly started losing it. She said that she opened the bag of her husband's ashes and brought it to her garden where she mixed it with her dog’s faeces. “I’ve desecrated the remains of my partner in life. But then, in despair and guilt, took more of his ashes — and actually ate them. The remains feel dry against my fingertips, coarser than baking powder, grainier than salt. They mix with the teary water, a mineral mud on the back of my tongue. I swallow," wrote Waite. Waite said that she was “detached from reality in the wake of Sean’s death” in that moment. “I feel better and stronger than before, but I still cry almost every day, and I still feel like a part of me has died. Because the part of me that existed within Sean did," she stated. (With inputs from agencies)
