Neil Parish, the Conservative MP for Tiverton and Honiton, has filed a complaint with the House of Commons over allegations that he watched pornography in the chamber.

Since a female Conservative minister reported witnessing a colleague watching pornography on his phone in the Commons earlier this week – a claim supported by another MP–rumours about the MP's identity have been widespread in Westminster.

Parish was submitting himself to the House of Commons Standards committee over the claims, according to a representative for the chief whip, Chris Heaton-Harris.

"Parish has been suspended from the Conservative whip pending the outcome of that investigation," the spokesperson said.

A British Labour MP Stella Creasy, who represents Walthamstow, brought her baby into the House of Commons chamber to highlight a "lack of support" for new mothers as she spoke in a debate, demanding rights and protections for women with children.&nbsp;

The newborn baby boy was strapped to the MP's chest as a symbol to support the new mothers' return to work. The 44-year-old Creasy urged Commons leader Jacob Rees-Mogg to take action.&nbsp;

Earlier this year, Creasy, who has been an active campaigner for better maternity practices for MPs, gave birth to her second child.&nbsp;

MEA Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said Abrahams did not have a valid visa when she arrived at the IGI Airport here on Monday.

"When she was coming to India, she did not have a valid visa. She came here without a valid visa and with all respect, she was sent back. We believe that her views and statements are anti-India," Kumar said at a briefing when asked about her statements in favour of Pakistan.

There has been a sustained campaign from her side against India, he said.

Kumar said Abrahams claimed that she was here to meet family and friends, but even if her visa had been valid it was an e-Business visa.

"Even if we presume that she had a visa, that was issued for a business ETA and business ETA cannot be used for a primary purpose of meeting family and friends," he said.

Abrahams, who has been a vocal critic of the Indian government's abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, posted what looks like an e-visa document on Twitter to show that she had a visa issued on October 7 last year, which was valid until October 5, 2020.

However, government sources had said Abrahams' e-Business visa was revoked as she was involved in anti-India activities, and the cancellation was conveyed to her on February 14.&nbsp;

On February 4, the Pakistan High Commission in London organized a seminar to attack India on Kashmir. Besides the Pak High Commissioner, those in attendance involved the President of Pak Occupied Kashmir Masood Khan and Abrahams.

India responded firmly to this far-fetched comparison.

Yesterday, the Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said that "India made a strong demarche with the Turkish government. This recent episode is but one more example of a pattern of Turkey interfering in the internal affairs of other countries. These remarks reflect neither an understanding of history nor of the conduct of diplomacy."

There's high-pitched rhetoric around Kashmir. The issue is invoked unfailingly in almost all forums where India is represented. Pakistan remains hyphenated, it dominates most questions aimed at India.&nbsp;

Something similar happened during the ongoing Munich Security Conference. US Senator Lindsey Graham had some an advice for India on how to resolve the Kashmir conflict in a style typical to US diplomacy.

The All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for British Sikhs accused the Office of National Statistics (ONS) of ignoring "overwhelming" Sikh community support for such an additional category in order to ensure fair treatment of British Sikhs and address racial discrimination.&nbsp;

"The ONS with its latest proposals in the White Paper has now opened itself up to legal action and a claim of institutionalising discrimination against Sikhs," said Labour MP Preet Kaur Gill, Chair of the APPG for British Sikhs.

"MPs, with the support of gurdwaras, Sikh organisations and the community, are starting a year-long nationwide campaign to put this right and a Sikh ethnic tick box to be added when the Census Order 2019 is presented in the House of Commons," she said.

In a recently released White Paper, titled 'Help Shape Our Future: The 2021 Census of Population and Housing in England and Wales', the ONS said the estimates of the Sikh population can be met through data from the specific response option in the Sikh religion question.

"The ONS does not propose adding an additional specific response option to the 2021 Census ethnic group question because of the evidence that this would not be acceptable to a proportion of the Sikh population," the White Paper states.

"There are differing views within the Sikh population as to whether a specific response option should be added to the 2021 Census, and views on each side are passionately held. All respondents who stated they were ethnically Sikh (in question versions with or without a specific Sikh response option) also stated their religious affiliation was Sikh, it notes.

Sikhs are already recognised as a separate religion in the optional religious question introduced in the 2001 Census. The UK's Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000 placed an obligatory and specific duty on the country's public authorities to monitor and positively promote race equality in the provision of public services.&nbsp;

According to some British Sikh groups such as Sikh Federation UK, public bodies tend to only reference the ethnic groups used in the census and demand a separate Sikh ethnic tick-box to ensure Sikhs have fair access to all public services.

"The recommendations fully recognise the need for good data on the Sikh community, both in terms of the need for high-quality data from the census and also wider across all public services. Everyone who wishes to identify as Sikh will be able to do so," said John Pullinger, UK's National Statistician, who has also written to the APPG for British Sikhs with assurances.&nbsp;

The Network of Sikh Organisation (NSO), which had campaigned against such a separate ethnicity tick-box, welcomed the conclusions of the White Paper as "common sense".

"The ONS has conducted significant research and consultation on this matter across the British Sikh community over a long period of time. They revealed focus groups conducted showed, 'younger second-generation participants wanted to express their Sikh background through the religion question as this is how they expected Sikh identity to be recorded'," the NSO said in a statement.
