<p>The nascent industry sashayed through Sao Paulo this month at the Pop Plus fair, where indie designers showed off sparkling skirts, racy tops, T-shirts stamped with bold statements and other clothes in sizes ranging up to 70.</p>

<p>The activist and influencer, who usually wears custom-made clothes, says she is glad to see more plus sizes on runways -- but adds that doesn't necessarily mean they are actually available in stores.</p>

<p>She encourages her more than one million followers on social media to love themselves as they are.</p>

<p>"When you find something made to exalt your body instead of hide it, it changes everything," she says in one post.</p>

<p>Lizzo on Thursday hit back at allegations she weight-shamed her staff, calling the accusations in a lawsuit levelled by former dancers "as unbelievable as they sound."</p>

<p>Three of the pop star's former dancers filed the suit in Los Angeles, with accusations of labour law violations including descriptions of what their lawyers deem shaming and sexual harassment.</p>

<p>One of the allegations centres around an Amsterdam red-light district sex show which the dancers say they felt pressured to attend. At the show Lizzo pressured her dancers to interact with the nude performers, the suit alleges.</p>

<p>It also alleges that Lizzo's dance leader, Shirlene Quigley, frequently made sexual comments and proselytized her Christian beliefs, especially against pre-marital sex, "regardless of protestations."</p>

<p>"Usually I choose not to respond to false allegations but these are as unbelievable as they sound and too outrageous to not be addressed," Lizzo posted Thursday on social media.</p>

<p>"These sensationalized stories are coming from former employees who have already publicly admitted that they were told their behaviour on tour was inappropriate and unprofessional."</p>

<p>The lawsuit alleges that white managers from Lizzo's production company, Big Grrrl Big Touring, Inc. (BGBT), which was also named in the complaint, "often accused the Black members of the dance team of being lazy, unprofessional, and having bad attitudes."</p>

<p>"Not only do these words ring familiar as tropes used to disparage and discourage Black women from advocating for themselves, but the same accusations were not levied against dancers who are not Black," according to the complaint cited in the statement.</p>

<p>"Only the dance cast -- comprised of full-figured women of color -- were ever spoken to in this manner, giving Plaintiffs the impression that these comments were charged with racial and fat-phobic animus," it added.</p>

<p>The accusations were particularly surprising given Lizzo's oft-repeated messages of self-love and body positivity.</p>

<p>She did not directly address the accusations made against Quigley. Lizzo did explicitly deny the weight-shaming allegations.</p>

<p>"There is nothing I take more seriously than the respect we deserve as women in the world. I know what it feels like to be body shamed on a daily basis and would absolutely never criticize or terminate an employee because of their weight," Lizzo said.</p>

<p>"I'm hurt but I will not let the good work I've done in the world be overshadowed by this. I want to thank everyone who has reached out in support to lift me up during this difficult time."</p>

<p>Ron Zambrano, the attorney representing plaintiffs Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams and Noelle Rodriguez, said Lizzo "failed her own brand" with her statement, accusing her of "utter lack of empathy."</p>

<p>"Her denial of this reprehensible behavior only adds to our clients' emotional distress," the lawyer said.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Nyome Nicholas-Williams and Sian Green-Lord are the other two women who have stated that their pictures have been used in the poster without their consent.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While Nyome remarked that the Spanish government had stolen an image from her Instagram account, Sian stated that not only her image was used without consent but her prosthetic leg was also edited out, in a campaign that seeks to promote body positivity.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As reported by WION, the Spanish ministry had&nbsp;tweeted the poster as part of its body positivity campaign, showcasing five women of all sizes and shapes, with the Spanish words “El verano también es nuestro” (which translates to “Summer is ours too”) sprawled across the top of the image. <p>The company also said this week that its global head of inclusion and diversity, Tyi McCray, was leaving the company after less than a year. The move was first reported by Protocol.</p>

<p>Demi Lovato is learning to celebrate her body. The singer is "full of peace, serenity, joy, and love" for her body, as per her latest social media post.</p>

<p>On Monday, the 28-year-old opened up about her eating disorder recovery in an Instagram post, sharing that she "accidentally lost weight" after changing her outlook about diet and exercise.</p>

<p>"I don't count calories anymore I don't over-exercise anymore I don't restrict or purge. And I especially don't live life accordingly to diet culture.. and I've actually lost weight," she wrote alongside a video of herself modeling a pair of loose pants in the mirror."This is a different experience But I feel full," Lovato continued. "Not of food But of divine wisdom and cosmic guidance."<br />

<p>Lovato has always been open about her&nbsp;struggles with an eating disorder and body image.</p>

<p>In December, she posted photos of her stretch marks highlighted with gold glitter, writing on her Instagram, "I used to genuinely believe recovery from an eating disorder wasn't real. That everyone was faking or secretly relapsing behind closed doors. 'Surely she throws up here and there', 'she can't POSSIBLY accept her cellulite'... those we're just a few of the things that I used to tell myself growing up."</p>

<p>"I'm so grateful that I can honestly say for the first time in my life - my dietitian looked at me and said 'This is what eating disorder recovery looks like,' " she wrote. "In honor of my gratitude for the place I'm in today, this was a lil shoot I did by myself in quarantine this summer when I wanted to celebrate my stretch marks instead of being ashamed of them."</p>

<p>In the past, Lovato has said that her recovery from her longtime eating disorder was one of the triggering factors in her 2018 drug overdose. According to the star, she was obsessed with working out and monitoring her food during her recovery, and the pressure to maintain a certain body type ultimately took a toll on her mental health.</p>

"In honor of my gratitude for the place I'm in today, this was a lil shoot I did by myself in quarantine this summer when I wanted to celebrate my stretch marks instead of being ashamed of them." In the past, Lovato has said that her recovery from her longtime eating disorder was one of the triggering factors in her 2018 drug overdose. According to the star, she was obsessed with working out and monitoring her food during her recovery, and the pressure to maintain a certain body type ultimately took a toll on her mental health.
