<p>Reuters said citing a source that Biden was thinking of visiting Vietnam in September. Earlier this month, Biden had said that he would be travelling to Vietnam "shortly" as the country wanted to stregthen its ties with the US and become a major partner.</p>

<p>There hasn't been an official confirmation from the White House about specifics of the trip. There was no immediate statement from Vietnam's foreign ministry. Reuters reported that ministry spokesperson Pham Thu Hang on Thursday did not confirm or deny a possible Biden visit.</p>

US officials, including Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, urged Egypt to divert its weapons supply toward Ukraine so that Kyiv can be aided with more ammunition for its military operations against Russia. However, Egypt did not commit to the request at the time. It led to multiple subsequent discussions on the matter between senior US officials and Egyptian counterparts, WSJ reported. The request by US officials to Egypt includes providing artillery shells, antitank missiles, air-defense systems, and small arms to Ukraine. While Egypt has not categorically rejected the requests, there have been indications from Egyptian officials that they do not intend to send the requested weapons. On a range of diplomatic discussions, Egypt’s response has been befitting of a strong U.S. partner,” an official reportedly said adding, “These are not simple or quick issues, and our discussions with our Egyptian partners on our mutual interest in ending Russia’s war are productive and ongoing,” the official also said. <p>Surprisingly, the median salary for men on the president's staff stands at $105,000, while the median salary for women is significantly lower at $84,000. It's worth noting that President Biden himself earns $400,000 annually.</p>

<p>Mark Perry, a scholar associated with the American Enterprise Institute, reportedly analysed the data and concluded that women working for the White House earn approximately 80 cents for every dollar earned by male staff members. Perry has a history of scrutinising White House salaries and found that during Donald Trump's tenure in 2017, the pay gap was 37 per cent, and it was nearly 11 per cent under Barack Obama's administration in 2016.</p>

<h2><strong>Composition effect&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>An analysis by The Wall Street Journal suggested that the primary cause of the gender pay gap within the Biden White House is a phenomenon known as the "composition effect." Despite there being more women (269) than men (179) employed at the White House, women are often concentrated in lower-paid positions, contributing to the observed pay gap.</p>
