A fortnight after violence erupted between the Hindu and Muslim sides in Nuh, a district in the northern Indian state of Haryana, a Mahapanchayat (a gathering of people from around 10-12 villages) has been scheduled on Sunday (August 13).&nbsp;The Sarva Hindu Samaj, a community group, has called for a meeting near a village on the Nuh-Palwal border to discuss resuming the&nbsp;Brajmandal Dharmik Yatra during which the violence had disrupted.&nbsp;

According to a Hindustan Times report, members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal are also expected to attend the meeting in the Pondri-Kira border village, with an aim&nbsp;to resume the procession on August 28 from Nalhar village in Nuh.&nbsp;

“The yatra is reportedly being organised to boost the confidence of Hindus,” read one of the posters of the meeting shared by the organisers, adding that six people were killed while 88 were injured in the attacks.

Lokender Singh, Palwal superintendent of police added,&nbsp;“We are analysing the situation in the district and collecting information to ensure there is no security threat.”

Meanwhile,&nbsp;Arun Jaildar, one of the organisers of the event, said people who were attacked on July 31 remain traumatised.&nbsp;

“We took shelter in the Nalhar temple and were rescued after six hours. The men who targeted us while we were offering prayers are still roaming freely, and only a bunch of them are behind bars. We want action against all who were involved in the attack.”

<h2>What happened in Nuh?</h2>

July 31 saw a major communal clash break out between two major communities in Haryana’s Nuh district, the only Muslim-dominated district of the state. The Hindu side took out the procession, an annual affair but the Muslim community, angered by reports that Monu Manesar, a cow vigilante wanted for the lynching of Muslim men was attending the event, went on a violent rampage.&nbsp;

The procession being carried out by Vishwa Hindu Parishad came under attack by a violent mob, armed with stones. After an initial investigation, Bijarniya&nbsp;said police had&nbsp;ample evidence which indicated the involvement of the Rohingya Muslims&nbsp;in&nbsp;violence.

“We have identified a list of those&nbsp;who were involved in the violence and have evidence for it and based on it the teams have arrested them,” he said.

Karnataka assembly election 2023: Congress unveils manifesto, promises 200 units of free electricity

The incident took place in Bhopal, a city in Madhya Pradesh.&nbsp; 
 
A day later, a Madhya Pradesh minister on Monday said producers and directors will have to inform the authorities about objectionable content or scenes in their stories before seeking permission for shooting in the state. 
 
"We are going to issue a permanent guideline following the dispute over the shooting of Ashram-3. Now, (the producer-director) will need to show the script of the story to the administration before seeking permission, if they are going to shoot objectionable scenes which hurt the sentiments of any religion," MP Home Minister Narottam Mishra told reporters on Monday. 
 
He said the state government welcomes filmmakers to shoot their projects here but they should inform authorities about objectionable scenes before seeking permission, and those who have objections to a script or scene must complain to the administration. 
 
Replying to a query, Mishra further said he supports the Bajrang Dal's demand to change the name of the web series from Ashram. 
 
"I also support this. Why is the web series named Ashram? They will understand (the consequences) if they name it (web series or stories) after others' (religion)? We consider the ransacking as wrong. Four persons were arrested and further legal steps will be taken. But, Jha saheb (Prakash Jha), think about your mistakes too," Mishra said. 
Later, Mishra tweeted, "In the name of the web series, an attempt is being made to deliberately target Hinduism for a long time. Considering the spirit of the majority society, Prakash Jha should consider changing the name of his web series Ashram." 
 
Meanwhile, Bhopal South Superintendent of Police (SP) Sai Krishna Thota said Bajrang Dal activists raised objections and staged a protest over the name of the web series when its shooting was underway at Old Jail Premises located in Arera Hills. 
 
The protesters threw ink on Prakash Jha, pelted stones due to which the windscreens of two buses were damaged and one person was injured, the SP said.

Police on Saturday arrested an 18-year-old for allegedly setting ablaze a care a belonging to a group of priests. The priests were accused of forcing religious conversions by rightwing group Bajrang Dal.&nbsp;

The incident took place on Thursday when two priests and around 30 members of a Catholic choir group were detained over allegations that they were converting Hindus to Christianity. The carolers were picked up by the police from the roadside as they were moving around Satna, around 450 km from state capital Bhopal, singing carols for Christmas.

Eight priests who later went to the police station to inquire about the detained carolers were also held by the police. It was the car they used that was burnt by activists who also allegedly assaulted the Christian group outside the police station.

Those detained were released after questioning.&nbsp;

A case has been filed against a priest, George M, and five others on the complaint of a local, Dharmendra Dohar, who alleged that he was illegally converted on December 10 and was paid Rs. 5,000 for it.

&quot;He was given a holy dip in a pond and his name was changed to Dharmendra Thomas, the complainant said. They also asked him to pray to Lord Christ,&quot; Superintendent of Police DD Pandey told IANS on Friday.
