Singapore-based&nbsp;Kelley Aerospace, the company behind UAV, has officially launched the world's first supersonic unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) and it is up for sale at $16 million.

Called the ''arrow'', the jet can travel faster than the speed of sound, reaching up to Mach 2.1 and it can be launched autonomously.&nbsp;

Kelley Aerospace chief executive Ian Lim said at its launch&nbsp;“UAVs are known for their persistence…loitering, [but] are never known for their speed.&nbsp;So, with the Arrow supersonic UAV, you will overcome the issues of speed and reach."

The UCAV is fitted with a reduced radar cross-section and infra-red signature and is designed for multiple combat or reconnaissance roles.

The drone is designed for missions&nbsp;"in highly contested territories" as well as to act as bait for missiles, to engage enemy fighters or jam enemy communications.

It is&nbsp;lightweight enough to fly more than 4,800 km with a maximum take-off weight of 16,800 kg.&nbsp;

Multiple Arrows might be controlled by a piloted combat aircraft, allowing them to perform a number of missions on a battlefield. They can also be controlled remotely from ground stations.

The drones, which are made from a single shell of carbon fibre, can be flown in formations or in "drone swarms",&nbsp;a technique designed to overwhelm enemy air defence systems.&nbsp;

Kelley Aerospace, which is also developing a supersonic business jet, said it has already received more than 100 pre-orders for its latest product, which officially launched last week and costs between $9m (£6.5m) to $16m (£11.5m).

World's first pilotless supersonic combat drone on sale for $16 million

The 'Arrowverse' isn't expanding on the smaller screen. The latest news suggests that the CW is not moving forward with "Green Arrow and the Canaries", its planned spin-off from the popular superhero series "Arrow". 
 
The show was announced in September 2019, six months after it was revealed that "Arrow" would end with the eighth season. A backdoor pilot aired in January 2020 as part of 'Arrow' season 8, titled 'Green Arrow &amp; The Canaries'&nbsp; and&nbsp;drew a strong 890,000 viewers - more than the next week's series finale, making it the second-highest rated episode of the season after the "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover episode from the week prior. 
 
&nbsp;The episode was set two decades after the end of the original show. It starred Katherine McNamara as Mia Smoak, Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance, and Juliana Harkavy as Dinah Drake. According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Arrow" showrunner Beth Schwartz and Marc Guggenheim penned the script for "Green Arrow and the Canaries". Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Schwartz, Guggenheim, Jill Blankenship and Oscar Balderrama were all executive producers on the project. 
 
&nbsp;Arrowverse executive producer Marc Guggenheim told TVLine last spring, adding, "And I do think we owe answers to a lot of those moments and questions.” Pondering a future without the new series, Guggenheim confessed, "My instinct would be to try to answer those questions in the form of, like, a comic book tie-in — which is not to say that it couldn’t be done on the other shows.”

Still, the producer said things can get tricky “when you’re dealing with another time period… the only show that could handle that or really deal with those questions is Legends [of Tomorrow]." But he hedged on whether even that idea could work, calling it “a tricky bit of business since the tonal mashup of Legends and Canaries is so very different." 
 
As for the question of how Black Canary winds up in the future, Guggenheim insisted that the Arrow finale scene of Dinah Drake leaving for Metropolis "does jibe" with her later appearance in the future, “given the backstory that we’ve worked out for Dinah that we haven’t revealed to you yet. She doesn’t get on that motorcycle and … immediately ends up in the future."
