"The network conducted extensive reconnaissance missions on IDF bases nationwide, focusing on air force and navy installations, ports, Iron Dome system locations, and energy infrastructure such as the Hadera power plant," it added.

The police stated that hundreds of thousands of dollars were sent to the group for the work in the form of crypto-currency payments.

"The investigation led to seizure of substantial materials compiled by the network members for Iranian agents," stated an official from Israel's internal security agency, in the police statement.

"These included photographs and videos of numerous IDF bases across Israel, ports, and energy infrastructure. It is assessed that these activities have inflicted security damage on the state," the official added.

Those arrested were found “in an undesirable and obscene state with emblems, signs and symbols of satanism on their clothes, head, face and hair,” said the local news agencies citing a police statement.

The agencies have claimed that irregularities were committed while modifying the excise policy and undue favours were extended to licence holders.

AAP leaders Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh are in judicial custody in the case.

Vadodara Commissioner of Police, Anupam Singh Gahlaut, while laying emphasis on the gravity of the situation, stated, "The boat, designed to accommodate 14 persons, was egregiously overcrowded with more than 30 individuals, and, regrettably, safety jackets were not provided to everyone."

“We have arrested six accused including three of the partners of Kotia Project and the other three are staff members of the company. There are about 15 partners in the firm and a case has been registered against all of them. More names are likely to crop up in the coming days,” said Gahlaut.

The arrested partners of Kotia Project include Bhimsing Yadav (42), Rashmikant Prajapati (51), and Vedprakash Yadav (55), alongside two boatmen and one managerial staff member of "Lake Zone."

Iran announced on March 7 it had made the first arrests in a spate of mystery poisonings of schoolgirls that has affected more than 5,000 pupils since late November.

A political activist and former finance minister&nbsp;Khayam Turki was also arrested. The Ennahda Islamist party is the biggest in the opposition and said that Turki’s arrest was a way to intimidate the president's opponents, reported Reuters.&nbsp;

The Tunisian president has also been accused of a coup aimed at dismantling the democracy built after the 2011 revolution by his political rivals who have since been deemed as traitors by Saied. Notably, as per media reports, neither Turki nor Eltaief have been prominent critics of the president. Turki was arrested in an early morning raid, said his lawyer Abdelaziz Essid, adding that he was not known to be wanted by authorities.&nbsp;

“He was taken to an unknown destination”, said Essid. Meanwhile, The Salvation Front, the main opposition coalition against Saied, has since condemned Turki’s arrest and said that police had previously repeatedly questioned him for meeting with opposition figures at his home. Reports suggest that in the past couple of months, authorities have either arrested or opened investigations against many political opponents of the incumbent president.&nbsp;

Notably, the country has seen a spike in arrests and prosecution&nbsp;of politicians, journalists, and others since the incumbent president came to power while rights groups have also raised concerns about political freedoms in Tunisia. This comes after Saied claimed wide-ranging powers in a dramatic move against the North African nation's parliament two years ago.&nbsp;

Tunisian police arrest prominent political activists and influential businessman

Videocon Group founder Venugopal Dhoot was arrested by CBI officials on Monday in the ICICI Bank loan fraud case, stated the officials.&nbsp;

In the early morning hours of Monday, a brief questioning session was held with the 71-year-old Dhoot after which he was arrested in Mumbai.&nbsp;

Dhoot has been arrested hours after ICICI Bank's former CEO and MD Chanda Kochhar, along with her husband Deepak Kochhar were produced for a remand hearing in a Special Court.

The officials said that a charge sheet will be soon filed by the CBI against the Kochhars and Dhoot, along with other suspects. The three-day remand of Chanda and her husband, who was arrested on December 23, will get over on Monday.

Chanda and Deepak Kochhar were taken into custody by the CBI after it was alleged that the couple were not co-operating with the bureau's investigation and providing evasive replies.

During the remand hearing at the CBI Special Court on December 24, the bureau said that Chanda denied having knowledge of pecuniary transactions between Dhoot and her husband.

Senior advocate Amit Desai, who appeared in the court to defend the Kochhars, opposed the need for remand, stating that the "main borrower of the loan has not been arrested, and the present accused was not the beneficiary of any amount”.

Desai also brought to the notice of the court a letter sent by the ICICI Bank to the CBI in July 202I which stated that the bank had no wrongful loss in any of the transactions highlighted by the bureau.

Chanda and Deepak Kochhar, along with Dhoot and companies Supreme Energy, Videocon International Electronics Ltd, Nupower Renewables (NRL) managed by Deepak Kochhar and Videocon Industries Limited, have been named as accused by the CBI in the FIR filed under IPC sections of criminal conspiracy as well as provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act in 2019, the officials stated.

The investigation bureau has alleged that credit facilities of Rs3,250 crore were sanctioned by the ICICI to the Videocon Group's companies promoted by Dhoot, which violated the bank's credit policy, RBI guidelines and the Banking Regulation Act.&nbsp;

It also alleged that an investment of Rs64 crore was made by Dhoot in Nupower Renewables through Supreme Energy Pvt Ltd (SEPL) and SEPL was transferred to Pinnacle Energy Trust, which Deepak Kochhar was managing between 2010 and 2012.

As her coffin was moved through the Scottish countryside, thousands of mourners lined the streets. Many were seen crying, applauding in honour of the Queen or watching silently.

A 22-year old woman, who had been pictured holding an anti-monarchy sign, and a 74-year old man who were arrested separately on Sunday were charged with breaching the peace.

The third, a 22-year old man arrested on Monday along the route of the procession of the queen's coffin through Edinburgh, has yet to be charged.

Reuters said that it could not independently verify circumstances around the arrests.
