Russian forces in Ukraine have been accused of committing several war crimes during the war. &nbsp;

In a new report released by the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), the invading forces have been alleged to deport around 500,000 Ukrainians to Russia. &nbsp;&nbsp;

Tech giant Apple on Friday apologised to its customers feeling aggrieved for slowing down of iPhones with older batteries and slashed the price for battery replacements to USD 29. In India, users of iPhone 6 (or later) can get their out-of-warranty batteries replaced for Rs 2,000 (plus taxes), compared to about Rs 6,500 previously.

The Cupertino-based firm will also update its software to give users more visibility into the health of their iPhone&#39;s battery.

Apple has been facing consumer uproar and a slew of lawsuits after it admitted to reducing the performance of older iPhones to prevent unexpected shutdowns.

&quot;...We know that some of you feel Apple has let you down. We apologise. There&#39;s been a lot of misunderstanding about this issue, so we would like to clarify and let you know about some changes we&#39;re making,&quot; Apple said in a lengthy apology note on its website.

Apple further said it has &quot;never and would never do anything to intentionally shorten the life of any Apple product, or degrade the user experience to drive customer upgrades&quot;.

Apple is offering a replacement of an out-of-warranty iPhone battery for USD 29 (compared to USD 79 earlier) for users of iPhone 6 or later. This will commence from late January and will be available worldwide through December 2018.

Nupur and Rajesh Talwar&nbsp;are owed Rs 49,500 by Ghaziabad&#39;s Dasna Jail, but they&#39;re telling the jail to keep it.

News reports said&nbsp;after their acquittal, a number of inmates and jail staff&nbsp;and dependants&nbsp;with dental problems had&nbsp;queued up to visit the&nbsp;Talwars.&nbsp;

The Indian government on Wednesday tried to pacify the public following its announcement on Tuesday evening regarding withdrawal of Rs 500 and Rs 100 denomination&nbsp;currency notes.

In a bid to aid the transition, the government has directed all banks to remain operational for full days on Saturday and Sunday, November 12-13.

Banks and post offices will also start giving out replacement currencies from Thursday.

The government today expanded the list of services where the withdrawn notes will be accepted till November 11 midnight. It included payments for metro rail tickets, highway and road toll, purchase of medicines on doctor prescription from government and private pharmacies, LPG gas cylinders, railway catering and ASI monuments entry tickets.

A 72-hour relaxation for use of such notes was given on Tuesday for government hospitals, railway ticketing, public transport, airline ticketing counters at airports; milk booths, crematoria/burial grounds and petrol pumps.

Banks and ATMs were shut through Wednesday to remove old Rs 500/1000 notes and stock them with lower denomination and new hard-to-fake Rs 500 and Rs 2,000 currency notes. Banks will open on Thursday as RBI has sent truckloads of new notes throughout the country, while some ATMs will begin dispensing cash.
