This technology transfer is meant to enable Indian industries to manufacture the Russian-origin rocket engine in India.</p>

<p dir="ltr">This also opens up the possibility of exporting the made-in-India 'RD-191' engines and using the engine as part of India's heaviest rocket LVM3, thereby enhancing its payload carrying capability. India and Russia are learnt to have been in talks for a long time, regarding the sale of the 'RD-191' engines.&nbsp;</p>

<p dir="ltr">The 'RD-191' is a high-performance rocket engine fuelled by kerosene and liquid oxygen. It falls under the category semi-cryogenic, as its fuel kerosene can be stored at room temperature and the oxidiser liquid oxygen has to be stored at super-cooled temperatures (below -150 degrees Centigrade).</p>

<p dir="ltr">India currently operates three kinds of engines on its operational rockets — solid-fuelled, liquid-fuelled and cryogenic (where liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen are stored at super-cooled temperatures).</p>

<p dir="ltr">In a recent interview with the Russian News Agency Interfax, Andrey Elchaninov, First Deputy Director General of Russian Space Agency Roscosmos, was asked about the possibility of supplying India with RD-191 engines.</p>

<p dir="ltr">He had said that India and Russia were discussing the details, characteristics and scope of deliveries of the RD-191 engines. "We hope to enter into a contract in the near future. We do not interrupt cooperation with anyone, we are open to all foreign customers" he said.&nbsp;</p>

<p dir="ltr">As the discussions are underway for the Russian-origin semi-cryogenic engine, the Indian Space agency ISRO is also gearing up for the maiden test of its indigenously-developed semi-cryogenic engine, a 2000kN engine powered by kerosene and liquid oxygen.</p>

<p dir="ltr">Dubbed as SCE-2000' the semi-cryo engine is being developed by ISRO's Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre, Thiruvananthapuram. While the engine is a standalone component, it is eventually integrated with fuel tanks and additional components, thereby completing what is known as a rocket stage. ISRO calls its semi-cryo stage 'SC-120'. For this engine, ISRO has developed a kerosene-based fuel that they call 'ISROSENE'.&nbsp;</p>

<p dir="ltr">In its latest annual report, ISRO had said that "the development of seven out of eight engine subsystems, have been completed. The intermediate configuration of the engine (Power Head Test Article) has been realised, wherein all the subsystems have been manufactured through Indian industries.</p>

<p dir="ltr">One ISROSENE propellant tank and two sets of LOX propellant tanks for the semi-cryogenic stage have been realised through industry, which has successfully undergone proof pressure tests. "We are getting ready for the first-ever test of the SCE-200". Dr. S. Somanath, Chairman, ISRO, told WION.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen are the most efficient cryogenic fuel combinations, storing liquid hydrogen in tanks is an extremely complicated and challenging engineering feat. Liquid hydrogen is explosive in nature and expensive to produce.</p>

<p>Rocket-grade kerosene is simpler to handle as it can be stored at room temperature and owing to its high-density, large quantities can be stored in moderate-sized tanks. The low-density of liquid hydrogen means that large tanks are required to store even a small quantity of it, thereby increasing the size and mass of the rocket stage.</p>

There have been numerous visits by officials of these countries to Chabahar, and there have been some discussions of land lease, and ownership by Central Asian countries in Chabahar". The Iranian minister was joined by Iran's Ambassador to India Iraj Elahi at the meeting.</p>

<p>The India Central Asia Joint Working Group on Chabahar meeting is a significant development in strengthening the connectivity between India, Central Asia, and Iran. The meeting included representatives from India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, along with Iran and the United Nations World Food Programme (UNWFP) as special invitees. It is one of the key outcomes of the Delhi Declaration from the first India Central Asia summit held in January last year, which aimed to enhance cooperation and collaboration in various areas.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Chabahar port, located in the southeastern Iranian city of Chabahar, is strategically positioned as a commercial transit hub for the region. India, Iran, and Afghanistan signed a trilateral agreement in 2016 to establish the International Transport and Transit Corridor (Chabahar Agreement), with India committing USD 85 Million in total grant assistance and a credit facility of USD 150 Million for the development of the Shahid Behesti Terminal, Chabahar Port. India has also provided equipment worth USD 25 Million to aid in the development of the port, including six Mobile Harbour Cranes.</p>

<p>The Chabahar free trade zone established by Iran aims to attract investment and utilize the advantages of the port, which is the only oceanic port in Iran. The development of the Shahid Behesti Terminal and the utilization of the Chabahar port by participating countries is expected to increase economic and trade opportunities for the region.</p>

<p>The NCrF document, which was released on Monday evening, lists 64 "kalas," or applied sciences, as well as 18 key "vidyas," or theoretical areas, that can be taken into account for credit accumulation.</p>

<p>The UGC released the draft of the framework for feedback from the public in October of last year with the goal of placing the school education system under a credit system. Every learning subject can be "creditised" to its assessment according to the framework.</p>

<p>The NCrF has split the learning ecosystem into eight levels and assigned credits based on learning hours from class 5 up to PhD level, encompassing school education for the first time under a credit structure.</p>

<p>"Nothing is left unmeasured. Outside of classroom learning, sports and games, yoga, physical activities, performing arts, handicrafts, bagless days will also be part of the evaluation framework," the report said.</p>

<p>The Indian knowledge system is listed in the final report as well, and is included under the "special achievers" category. The draft of the document&nbsp;that was published in October lacked any mention of this.</p>

<p>Sports and games, personalised arts, master craftsmen of heritage and traditional skills, social work in high-impact fields like education, health care, and anti-drugs, as well as innovation and start-up, are some of the other fields that are eligible for 'creditisation' alongside the Indian knowledge system.</p>

<p>However, the text emphasised that credits must be given in accordance with standards for exceptional achievements in addition to pre-established learning outcomes.</p>

<p>"The total credit points earned by a student will be the multiplication of total credits earned at a level of study or skilling and NCrF level assigned to that level of skilling and academic class. The framework also envisions taking into account cases wherein the student opts out of the education ecosystem and gains employment," it said.</p>

<p>"At any point in time, the overall credit points accumulated by a student shall be calculated as 'total credit points earned' multiplied by the 'weightage assigned to the relevant experience acquired by the student'. Credits accumulated by any student shall be stored through Academic Bank of Credit," it added.</p>

<p>As per the document, credits can only be transferred when they have been approved by the appropriate awarding bodies and there is mutual agreement between the body giving out credits and the body receiving them.</p>

The IT department had reportedly "gathered several evidence" which indicate that "tax has not been paid on certain remittances" which have not been disclosed as income in India by the foreign entities of the group.&nbsp;</p>

<p>These developments also figured during a discussion between External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and UK Foreign Secretary James Cleverly in early march when Cleverly visited India to attend G20 Foreign Ministers' meeting.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The survey reportedly found several "discrepancies and inconsistencies" with regard to transfer pricing documentation. Such discrepancies relate to the level of relevant Function, Asset and Risk (FAR) analysis, incorrect use of comparables which are applicable to determine the correct Arms Length Price (ALP) and inadequate revenue apportionment, among others.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has written a letter to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The said letter was handed over by&nbsp;Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Emine Dzheppar during her meeting with the Minister of State for External Affairs Meenakshi Lekhi on Tuesday in New Delhi.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Ministry of External Affairs confirmed the letter saying Ukraine requested additional humanitarian supplies including medicines and medical equipment as the war&nbsp;lingered on.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Besides holding discussion on a wide range of bilateral and international issues of mutual interest, she handed over a letter from President Zelenskyy, addressed to Prime Minister Modi," read the statement by MEA.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“The Ukrainian Deputy FM also proposed that rebuilding infrastructure in Ukraine could be an opportunity for Indian companies,” the statement added.</p>
