Top cars: Toyota, Skoda, Ford race to capture India

Mercedes-Benz India launched two high-performance cars in India this week, here's a look at the other cars to be launched this year.

Nissan X-Trail Hybrid

The 5-seater model measuring 4,640mm in length, 1,820mm in width and 1,715mm in height with 2,705mm wheelbase is set to be launched in India.

The car is priced between Rs 32 lakh to Rs 35 lakh. The car revealed at the Auto Expo 2016 is the only hybrid SUV in India.

The model is built on a completely new platform and will introduce CMC-Platform in the country.

India will be the fourth market in the world to provide the new X-Trail hybrid.

The Nissan Hybrid will be launched in India as a completely built unit later in the year.


New-Gen Toyota Camry

Toyota's one of the best selling models - Camry Sedan and hybrid is expected to hit Indian markets next year.

The company claims it will launch the new model with more dynamic features and improved handling and comfort.

The estimated price of the car is expected to be between Rs 30 lakh to 35 lakh.


Tata Nexon

Tata Nexon is said to enter Indian markets late this year and is estimated to range within 6.5 Lakh to 10 Lakh.

The smallest SUV designed by the Tata Motors is expected to feature a touchscreen infotainment system and smartphone connectivity.

The model is expected to be powered by the 1.2-litre petrol and possibly a newly developed 1.5-litre diesel engine.


Maruti Suzuki Ciaz

Maruti Suzuki will soon launch a new version of Ciaz in India which is expected to range from 8 lakh to 13 lakh.

The sun-roofed new model will come with a revised grille and alloy wheels, new daytime running lights, revised headlamp and tail light cluster.


Skoda Kodiaq

Czech carmaker's first large SUV Skoda Kodiaq is expected to enter India next month.

The car measuring 4697 mm in length, 1882 mm in width and 1676 mm in height with a wheelbase measure of 2791 mm is expected to be range between 25 lakh to 30 lakh.

The company's first 7-seater car will be available with the option of both seven and five seat configuration.


Ford Figo

Ford Figo, designed with plastic cladding over the wheel arches, twin spoke black alloy wheels and revised headlamps will be available in India priced between 4 lakh to 9 lakh.

The new model from Ford will enter the Indian market in December.


Mahindra KUV100

Mahindra will launch its updated KUV 100 with a facelift.

While retaining the same engine options, the company will bring cosmetic changes to the car.

The KUV 100 facelift will see redesigned headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, revised front grille and restyled fog lamps.

It is reportedly priced between 4 lakh to 9 lakhs. The car is expected to launch in November 2017.


Mercedes-Benz: GT Roadster & GT-R

Mercedes-Benz India launched two high-performance cars in India GT Roadster and the GT-R at 2.19 crore (ex-showroom, India) and Rs 2.23 crore (ex-showroom, India) respectively.

The new sports car AMG GT R is the enhanced version of the GT S that is currently sold in India.The carbon fibre roof is designed to ensure high rigidity and safety and the 20 inch 5 spoke AMG aluminium wheels ensure weight savings.

The sporty look is designed in a unique green colour with 5-twin-spoke forged wheels with a matte black finish.
