The festival lasts four days, starting on a Thursday and continuing upto Sunday. It attracts thousands of spectators from all the world and includes not only a hot air balloon competition but also offers recreational activities like fireworks and a night glow.
The flight of balloons takes place early in the morning and late in the afternoon when the weather agrees with flying. Visitors may also fly on a balloon but have to make the flight booking in advance.
