On 'Dil Bechara' first anniversary, a look at Sushant Singh Rajput's other big movies

Sushant Singh Rajput marked his Bollywood debut with 2013 movie 'Kai Po Che'. Based on Indian author Chetan Bhagat's novel 'The 3 Mistakes of My Life', the story revolves around three friends who start an academy to train young cricketers. Rajput stars as Ishaan, a cricket enthusiast.

The movie was directed by Abhishek Kapoor and won critical acclaim as well as at the box office. The film also co-starred Rajkummar Rao and Amit Sadh. 

Sushant Singh Rajput had a cameo role in Rajkumar Hirani's blockbuster 'PK', starring Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan. The audience loved the charming yet shy character Sushant had played, of Pakistani boy Sarfaraz Yousuf.

The film starred Aamir Khan in the titular role with Anushka Sharma, Boman Irani, Saurabh Shukla and Sanjay Dutt in pivotal roles.

In his second film as a lead, Sushant Singh Rajput played a young tourist guide name Raghu Ram in Jaipur. Perhaps one of the most conflicted characters that Rajput played in his career, the film explored the views of the younger generation on commitment, live-in relationships and arranged marriages as compared to love marriages in small-town India.  Rajput was praised for his portrayal of the complex character.

Directed by Maneesh Sharma and produced by Aditya Chopra, the movie also featured Parineeti Chopra and Vaani Kapoor in leading roles. 

Dinesh Vijan directorial 'Raabta' was based on the concept of reincarnated star-crossed lovers. Sushant Singh Rajput played the character of a young boy, Shiv.

The movie also stars Kriti Sanon, with Jim Sarbh, Rajkumar Yadav and Varun Sharma in supporting roles.

Sushant Singh Rajput's career's turning point came with 'M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story'. One of the highest-grossing films of Rajput's career and of that particular year (2016), the film was a sports biopic.

Rajput earned rave reviews for his portrayal as cricketer MS Dhoni, the movie followed the cricketer's rise from his childhood in Ranchi, India, to his early jobs as a ticket collector and went on to show how he became a legend in Indian cricket.

Sushant Singh Rajput was a rising star when he grabbed the lead role in Dibakar Banerjee’s mystery film 'Detective Byomkesh Bakshy'. The film is based on the fictional detective Byomkesh Bakshi, created by the Bengali writer Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay.

The critically acclaimed movie was not able to perform well at the Box Office but Sushant was yet again praised for his impressive acting skills.

Sushant Singh Rajput was outstanding in Abhishek Kapoor's 2018 film 'Kedarnath'. In the film Rajput played Mansoor Khan, a reserved Muslim porter, who falls in love with Hindu girls Mukku played by Sara Ali Khan.

The movie was partially based on the 2013 Uttarakhand flash floods. 

Sushant Singh Rajput's Netflix movie, 'Drive', revolves around the manhunt for an infamous 'king' wanted for a robbery of 300 kilograms of gold. An undercover agent infiltrates a street racing gang who is chasing the king. 

The movie stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Vikramjeet Virk and Sapna Pabbi. 

Sushant Singh Rajput starred in Abhishek Chaubey's bandit drama 'Sonchiriya' where we saw Sushant in never-seen-before avatar as he played a guilt-ridden dacoit named Lakhna.

The movie is an unmissable tale set in the ravines of Chambal, Madhya Pradesh of the dacoit Man Singh and his two main men. The film co-starred Manoj Bajpayee, Ranvir Shorey and Bhumi Pednekar.

'Dil Bechara' was now deceased Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput's last film. An adaptation of 'The Fault In Our Stars', the Mukesh Chhabra directorial cast Sushant as Manny - a cancer patient. 

The film was viewed over three million times same day last year on the OTT platform, Disney + Hotstar.
