The downpour in Pakistan's largest city, Karachi, has left at least eight people dead.

The heavy rainfall has disrupted life in the city--flooding streets with people in some areas struggling with waist-high water.

Wasim Akhtar, mayor of Karachi is working to rescue and rehabilitate those affected by the rains.

According to the country's weather forecast department, the rain is likely to continue for another three days in several parts of Sindh province. As a precautionary measure, the authorities have shut down all schools.

A few days ago, a similar flood in the neighbouring India's Mumbai halted public transport and caused around 20 deaths.
