Everything you should know about Ranbir Kapoor's 'Brahmastra' - From Astraverse to SRK cameo

The film is deeply inspired by Indian mythology. In the film, Ranbir plays the role of Shiva, a character named after the Hindu god. The free-spirited boy is not aware of the power he possesses and the moto of his life is to save the world from the evil powers. 
 

'Brahmastra – Part One: Shiva' is the first part of the trilogy series and will introduce the World of Astras. this will also mark the beginning of Bollywood's own cinematic universe, the Astraverse.  

The film has so far introduced us to Nandi Astra, Vanarastra, Prabhastra, Pawanastra, Gajastra, Nag Dhanush, Jalastra, and Agnyastra. 

Ranbir Kapoor's film has become one of the most expensive films ever made in Hindi cinema.  Backed by Karan Johar's Dharma production, the film is made on a whooping budget of 410 crores.

The film's major budget has been spent on high-quality VFX. Also, the movie is now not only director Ayan Mukerji's dream project but Karan's too, who is hoping that movie would do wonders at the box office and would break the curse of the rough phase Bollywood is going through. 

Alia Bhatt & Ranbir Kapoor's love story started from the set of 'Brahmastra' only. The film is Alia and Ranbir's first film together. 

In the film, Ranbir is playing the role of Shiva and Alia is playing his love-interest Isha.

Ayan made sure to make his 'Brahmastra' one kind of a film. His first focus was casting, and he did a great job in this part, indeed. Bringing so many superstars under one roof is a big job to do, and Ayan did it.

The film stars Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, he's playing the mentor of Ranbir's character, Mouni Roy, as the main antagonist of the film. The film also marks the Bollywood comeback of south star Nagarjuna, who is playing Anish, in the film. 

Ayan Mukerji, the director of the mythology drama, has been working on this project for almost a decade now and has left no stone unturned to make his dream project the most iconic film in the history of Indian cinema.

Also, the Astraverse is not inspired by any Marvel or DC world, but he's dreamed about this world of Brahmastra for years now and worked hard in forming all the astras and bringing them to live on such a large scale. For the unversed, Ayan has been working on his film since he was working on his 2013 film 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani'.

Ever since the trailer launch, there has been a lot of speculation about Deepika Padukone and Shar Rukh Khan being part of the movie in an important cameo. However, Khan's presence has been confirmed, but still, there is no confirmation about Padukone's cameo. In the film, SRK will feature as the Vanar Astra and reportedly, Deepika will be Jalastra.
