Cristiano Ronaldo hits milestone with 700th career goal
Cristiano Ronaldo netted his 700th career goal when he converted a 72nd-minute penalty in Portugal's Euro 2020 qualifier against Ukraine on Monday.
Ronaldo joins elite club with 700 goals
The 34-year-old has scored 700 goals so far from 973 matches, scoring in at least 458 of those.
Real Madrid's all time highest scorer
Ronaldo has scored majority of his goals for his former football club, Real Madrid. Having scored 450 times for the Spanish Giants, 95 for his country, 118 for Manchester United, 32 for Juventus and five for Sporting.
15 goals away from International top spot
The 700th goal has put Ronaldo only 15 goals away from being on top of the International Charts, with only Iranian Ali Daei in front with 109 goals.
Although Ronaldo scored his landmark goal from the penalty spot in the 72nd minute and Taras Stepanenko was sent off, Ukraine held on to secure first place in Group B.
Portugal were beaten 2-1 by Ukraine, leaving Ukraine on top of the section on 19 points from seven games, eight more than second-placed European champions Portugal who have a game in hand.
Sixth best goalscorer of all time
According to data from the Rec.Sport.Soccer Statistics Foundation, Ronaldo’s goal has placed him at Number six at the Best Goalscorers All-Time list, with Czech-Austrian Josef Bican at top with 805 career goals.

Ronaldo currently holds the titles for Most Champions League goals, most goals in a Champions League season, most goals for Real Madrid, most appearances in European Championships, most goals for Portugal to name a few.
