''Parmanu- The Story of&nbsp;Pokhran''&nbsp;has finally crossed Rs. 20 crore mark at the box office, even though the IPL semi-final and final matches were scheduled near the&nbsp;date&nbsp;of the release of the film, May 25.

Over the weekend, the film earned above Rs.16 crores.

''Parmanu'' is a 2018 Indian historical action drama film directed by Abhishek Sharma and produced by Zee Studios and JA Entertainment. The film is written by Saiwyn Quadras, Sanyuktha Chawla Sheikh, and Abhishek Sharma.

The film is based on the nuclear bomb test explosions conducted by the Indian Army at Pokhran in 1998. Along with John Abraham, the other co-stars of the film are Diana Penty, Boman Irani, and Yogendra Tikku.

Film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted that Parmanu's business was 'hit' by IPL semi-final and final matches but the earnings are 'respectable.'

The areas which have been heavily affected in Bihar include&nbsp;Gaya, Munger, Aurangabad, Katihar and Nawada.

At least five people have died in Gaya and Aurangabad due to the storm.

The state disaster management department has been collecting data from districts in Bihar about the details of the loss of lives.

In Uttar Pradesh, Kanpur, Rai Barelli, Unno have been severely affected due to severe weather conditions.&nbsp;The meteorological department said thunderstorm accompanied with rain and hail storm is likely to occur today during the next 3 hours over some areas in&nbsp;Sitapur, Farrukhabad districts & adjoining areas.

India has been in the grip of a severe heatwave with Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat reeling under hot and humid conditions.

On Monday, Delhi recorded 43.5 degrees Celsius which was three degrees above normal.

On Sunday, day temperatures was above normal in Allahabad, &nbsp;Agra, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Faizabad, Kanpur, Lucknow, Bareilly, Moradabad and Jhansi, according to the MeT department.

Rains/thunderstorm are likely to occur at isolated places in east Uttar Pradesh on May 29, while the weather is likely to remain dry in west UP, the Met department&nbsp;said with isolated rains and thunderstorm likely on May 30 and May 31st.

People in the bordering areas are getting their vehicle tanks filled with petrol and diesel in Nepal because of lower prices compared to India.&nbsp

Petrol and Diesel have been allegedly smuggled from Nepal in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich district.

People are either driving their vehicle to the neighbouring county or bringing fuel in cans from there.

Even after the presence of the Border Security Force (BSF), the people could be seen easily moving across the border.

The locals said they are very disappointed with the soaring price of the fuel in the country and to save some money they bring the same from Nepal.

"Petrol price in India is high and it is cheap in Nepal. We are forced to bring it from there as we are able to save some Rs 12- 13 on one litre," said a local.

Taking cognisance of the same Superintendent of Police, Sabha Raj said they will take strict action against those involved in the incident.

"I have been informed about the matter. We will take strict action against those involved and will also take precautionary measures in the future," he said.

The fuel price hike for the 16th consecutive day has caused inconvenience among the general public.

Petrol is being sold at Rs 78.43 per litre in Delhi and Rs 86.24 per litre in Mumbai.

The cost of diesel per litre has also been increased to Rs 69.31 per litre in Delhi and Rs 73.79 a litre in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, the Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) yesterday announced an increase in the prices of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in Delhi and nearby areas, comprising Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad as a result of the recent appreciation of dollar and revision in proportions of domestic gas allocation.

CNG has increased by Rs 1.36 per kg in Delhi and Rs 1.55 per kg in Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad.

Cheaper fuel prices in Nepal spur smuggling

Indian Police Service (IPS) &nbspofficer Rajesh Sahni was found dead under mysterious circumstances on Tuesday, according to several media reports.

The deceased, Rajesh Sahni, was Additional Superintendent of Police of Uttar Pradesh ATS.

His body was found inside the ATS office with a bullet wound.

"Rajesh Sahni, Additional Superintendent of Police, ATS, committed suicide by shooting himself on the temple at 1245 hrs in his office with an official weapon. The reason for suicide is being ascertained, " said, Additional Director General (Law and Order) Anand Kumar.

Sahni was a 1992 batch Provincial Police Services (PPS) officer.&nbsp

As the news spread, senior officials including ADG, Lucknow zone Rajeev Krishna and SSP Deepak Kumar reached the ATS building. The police team was waiting for forensic experts to arrive before moving the body from the spot.&nbsp

Bihar cannot attract the private sector investments unless the state gets special status that he had first demanded 13 years ago, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said during a&nbspmeeting in Patna.&nbsp

Also in a blog, he has highlighted various issues impeding Bihar's development and implored the central government for granting the Special Category Status (SCS) for the state.

He lamented that state's development has been hampered "due to lopsided policies, social and economic reasons" and said the Planning Commission and successive Finance Commissions (FC) have not been able to effectively address the issues of inequality of growth among the states through fund transfers.

"There has been a concerted effort by state government to turn the tide of underdevelopment and initiate the state towards a promising future of growth, prosperity and harmony in the last 12-13 years. In spite of unhelpful conditions and an inherent bias, Bihar has witnessed a double-digit growth in these years," he wrote in the blog post.

Citing that the lack of industries in the state post bifurcation as being detrimental to both public and private investments, thus halting the state's development, he said its direct result was the low per capita income in Bihar, which presently was 68 per cent lower than the national per capita income.

He further stated that the recommendations of the XIV FC were superficial as, "the increase in tax transfers was negated to a large extent by the reduction in allocations by the Centre for the central plan schemes and the centrally sponsored schemes to the States and Union Territories."

"In fact in the recommendations of the last four Finance Commissions, our share in the divisible pool of taxes has steadily gone down - from 11.589 percent (XI FC) to 11.028 percent (XII FC) to 10.917 percent (XIII FC) and then to 9.665% (XIV FC)," he added.

He implied the XV FC to consider the XIII FC's recommendation of 'Grants-in-aid' for State-specific needs.

"This will encourage backward states to develop and catch up with the developed states. The XIV Finance Commission by way of its recommendations had suggested that "to the extent that formula-based transfers do not meet the needs of specific States, they need to be supplemented by grants-in-aid on an assured basis and in a fair manner."&nbsp

This was not implemented. Thus XV FC must look at the special and specific disadvantages of backward states like Bihar," he proposed.

He indicated that any rational economic strategy should foster both investment and devolution patterns which would enable states like Bihar to reach the national average within a stipulated time frame.

"Our demand for Special Category Status for Bihar emanates from this very premise. We have repeatedly raised the demand to the Central Government to accord Special Category status to Bihar, as it will enhance the availability of resources by lowering the State contribution in centrally sponsored schemes, improve access to external resources, act as a catalyst for private investment based on tax breaks and concessions and act as a spur to employment generation and improve life quality," wrote Kumar.

With his recurrent appeals to the centre for the granting of the SCS for his state, Nitish Kumar becomes the second chief minister in recent months to raise the issue.

Earlier, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had broken his party's alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance over the latter's failure to grant the SCS to his state.

The ministers of the two parties held a three-hour meeting at Ghulam Nabi Azad's residence in New Delhi on Monday.

A media report quoted a JD(S) source saying that the Congress was trying to take over all key portfolios and was leaving behind ministries like animal husbandry, labour, fisheries, youth services, women and child welfare for the JD(S).

The report also said that the Finance ministry is a major bone of contention between the two parties.

Chief Minister Kumaraswamy has assured that the issue will be resolved after Rahul Gandhi returns from abroad.

Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge said,&nbsp;"Everything will be sorted out in a few days. Such issues happen during a coalition. We (Congress & JDS) will surely work together".

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj today apologised for saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed lakhs of "Indians" in Nepal's Janakpur recently.

She posted a tweeted an apology after people on Twitter, including a Parliamentarian from Nepal, pointed out that Modi addressed Nepali people in Janakpur earlier this month and not Indians.&nbsp

"This was a mistake on my part. I sincerely apologise for this," Swaraj tweeted tonight along with a video of her comments about Modi's efforts to reach out to Indian dispora abroad, including in Nepal.

Earlier addressing a press conference on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the NDA government, Swaraj said no prime minister before Modi had tried to reach out to the Indian diaspora at such a large scale.

This was the first batch to appear for the Class 10 board examinations after the CBSE decided to junk the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) and reintroduce the board exams. 
Over 16 lakh students appeared for Class 10 exams this year.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday said a total of 619 terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir had been killed in gun battles with security forces in last four years.

Asked about the continuing violence during the Ramzan "ceasefire", Singh said the Centre had only announced a suspension of operations.

"If there is a terrorist attack, the hands of the jawans are not tied," he added.

On his recent comment on the possibility of talks with Pakistan or the separatists for peace in Kashmir, he said the country has no aversion to dialogue.

Singh, who is also an MP from Lucknow, was addressing reporters on the completion of four years of the NDA government.

He said the Centre was trying to bring petroleum prices under control, saying the hikes were the result of the increase in international crude oil rates and the rise in the value of the dollar.

"I accept that problems have emerged because of the rise in dollar and crude oil prices," he said at a joint press conference with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The home minister said while 471 terrorists were killed in 2010-13, 619 have been killed in 2014-17.

He said the number of districts affected by Naxalism has dropped from 76 in 2013 to 58 in 2018.

"Our crime and criminal tracking network and systems (CCTNS) is winning praise from all over the world," he said.

Lauding the para-military forces, he said,"When a jawan attained martyrdom, Rs 50 lakh to Rs 55 lakh used to be given to his family but now we have decided that the amount should not be less than Rs 1 crore."

Asked about economic offenders leaving the country, the minister said, "I want to ask the Congress people if no one had fled during their government."

He said there was special thrust on infrastructure development under the Narendra Modi government, and by 2040 four to five trillion dollar investment was likely in this field alone.&nbsp;

"It is a fact that during the last four years of the UPA government, on an average, 12 km of highways were constructed on a daily basis, which went up to 27 km in the four years of the present government," he said.&nbsp;

He said road connectivity was a gift from former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and the effort has been taken forward by Modi.&nbsp;

Singh stressed that none of the ministers in the Modi government faced any corruption charge.

He praised the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh, saying there has been fear among criminal elements since he came to power.

China on Monday refrained from making any direct comment on Pakistan's latest move on exercising administrative authority on Gilgit-Baltistan, but said the CPEC, which traverses through the disputed region, will not affect its stand that the Kashmir issue should be resolved between India and Pakistan.

Pakistan's Cabinet on May 21 approved Gilgit-Baltistan Order 2018 which was also endorsed by the region's assembly. The order is being seen as Pakistan's efforts towards incorporating the disputed region as its fifth province.

The move sparked anger in the region and drew strong reaction from New Delhi which said the entire state of Jammu and Kashmir, which also includes the so-called 'Gilgit-Baltistan' areas, is an integral part of India by virtue of its accession in 1947.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying told a media briefing that "Kashmir issue is a historical baggage between India and Pakistan and therefore shall be resolved between the two sides through dialogue and consultation".&nbsp;

Asked to comment on the Pakistan government's Gilgit-Baltistan Order, Hua reiterated Beijing's stand that the $50 billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which goes through Gilgit and Baltistan, will not affect its stand that the Kashmir issue should be resolved between India and Pakistan.

"We have stressed many times that the CPEC is an initiative for economic cooperation. This is a cooperation framework which serves the purpose of economic development and the people's livelihood. This initiative does not affect our position on the Kashmir issue," she said.&nbsp;

Pakistan has bifurcated occupied Kashmir into two administrative parts - Gilgit-Baltistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Gilgit-Baltistan was treated as a separate geographical entity by Pakistan till now.

The Delhi police has sent to the CBSE a list of students who had allegedly received the leaked class 10 mathematics and class 12 economics question papers after the board sought it from the crime branch, an official privy to the probe said.

A senior Crime Branch officer said the CBSE had requested them to provide details of students who had received the leaked papers.

Last week, the police sent an investigation report to the board mentioning the names of over 60 students, he said, adding, these students were quizzed by the Crime Branch while it was probing the case.

Two modules were allegedly involved in leaking the CBSE question papers. Other than the class 12 economics paper, the class 10 mathematics paper had also surfaced online before the scheduled examination.

One of the modules was busted in Una town of Himachal Pradesh last month and six people, including a woman, were arrested in connection with leaking the question papers.

The Bawana module was busted in March, and three people, including two teachers of a private school, were arrested.

The teachers had taken photographs of the economics paper and sent it via WhatsApp to Tauqeer, who gives private tuition.&nbsp

Tauqeer, in turn, circulated the paper among his students about an hour before the examination started, police said.

The CBSE announced class 12 exam results on May 26 while the class 10 results will be declared today.&nbsp

The Delhi Police has registered two cases in connection with the paper leaks. The first case related to the leak of economics paper was registered on March 27, while the other pertaining to the leak of mathematics paper was filed on March 28.

The retest for class 12 economics paper was held on April 25, but the board decided against a re-test of the Class 10 paper, saying the examination was "largely an internal segment" of the school education system

An air hostess of Air India has accused a senior executive of sexual harassment, prompting Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu to ask the national carrier to take immediate steps to address the issue.&nbsp

In a letter addressed to Prabhu and also marked to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the air hostess has asked the government to appoint a 'neutral' investigation committee to look into the incident.&nbsp

Responding to the letter, the aviation minister tweeted, "Asked Air India CMD to immediately address the issue. If necessary, will appoint another committee".&nbsp

The air hostess alleged that she had been harassed for the last six years by the senior executive, describing him as a "predator" and equal, if not worse, than Harvey Weinstein, the Hollywood film maker charged with sexual misconduct by leading actresses.

"This senior executive is a predator and has sexually propositioned me, abused me, used abusive languages on other women in my presence, spoken of sexual acts with me and other women in my presence in office premises...

"He has insulted me and denied me positions and privileges after I rejected his advances and he had made my life a misery at work and continues to do so," she said in her letter dated May 25.

The woman said that she would reveal the name of the executive if she gets an audience with the aviation minister.&nbsp

The air hostess maintained that she had lodged a complaint with Air India last September and written to then CMD of the airline, but "none was forthcoming".

She also accused the airline's women cell of dragging its feet on the issue.&nbsp

"The complaints committee took over three months to summon the senior executive and never gave us a chance to cross-examine him. Even though we volunteered to cross-examine him, the committee felt no need to call us," the air hostess alleged in the letter.

The high-profile electoral contest for western Uttar Pradesh's Kairana Lok Sabha seat, where the ruling BJP is locked in a straight fight with a joint opposition candidate, saw over 54 per cent of the constituency's voters casting their mandate amid complaints of malfunctioning of EVM and VVPAT machines.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, 61 per cent polling was recorded for the Noorpur Assembly seat bypoll which was also held today, an election commission official said. The polling was by and large peaceful.

At the end of polling, Kairana Lok Sabha constituency recorded a polling percentage of 54.17, while in Noorpur assembly constituency, the figure was 61 per cent, Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Ramesh Chandra Rai, said.

"Malfunctioning was reported in 384 VVPAT (Vote Verifiable Paper Audit Trail) machines in the state. Of this 29 were in Noorpur (Bijnor). Apart from this, three EVMs (Electronic Voting Machines) also malfunctioned in Shamli. Both, the malfunctioning EVMs and VVPATs were replaced," Rai told PTI.

Election Commission officials said a re-poll would be ordered, wherever necessary.

The assurance came against the backdrop of opposition Samajwadi Party and RLD complaining of snags in the EVMs. Significantly, even BJP leaders complained of instances of malfunctioning of VVPAT machines.&nbsp;

UP BJP chief Mahendra Nath Pandey and other leaders submitted a memorandum to CEO demanding repolling in those polling booths in Kairana and Noorpur where voting was affected, a party statement said.&nbsp;

"A report has been sought from the district magistrates of Shamli, Saharanpur and Bijnor about polling booths, where voting was delayed for two hours or more, and then an decision on repolling will be taken accordingly," an official said.

Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Ratnesh Singh said the polling in both the constituencies was by and large peaceful with no incident of violence reported.

Earlier in the day, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav tweeted, "Receiving reports of problems in EVMs in the bye-elections but still voters should go to cast votes." SP spokesman Rajendra Chaudhary charged that 140 EVMs were tampered with in Noorpur, while similar reports had come in from Kairana as well.

"The BJP wants to avenge its defeat in earlier bypolls in Gorakhpur and Phulpur anyhow and win these bypolls," Chaudhary claimed.

Refuting the opposition charge, government spokesperson and cabinet minister Shrikant Sharma said, "Government has asked the EC to ensure free, fair and peaceful elections. The opposition's allegations are baseless, and sensing their defeat they have started indulging in gimmicks and talking things which are untrue. As far as EVMs are concerned, I am also getting complaints, and the EC will look into it."

The Kairana Lok Sabha bypoll is significant as it would test the popularity of the ruling BJP in the electorally crucial state of Uttar Pradesh an year ahead of the next general elections.

The bypoll was necessitated by the death of BJP MP Hukum Singh in February.

His daughter Mriganka Singh is the BJP candidate, pitted against Rashtriya Lok Dal's Tabassum Hasan (former BSP MP from Kairana in 2009) who is also supported by the Congress, the Samajwadi Party and also claims the support of the Bahujan Samaj Party.

Kairana parliamentary constituency has five assembly segments -- Shamli, Thana Bhawan and Kairana in Shamli district, and Gangoh and Nakur in Saharanpur district.

Similarly, the bye-election to Noorpur Assembly seat was necessitated by the death of sitting BJP MLA Lokendra Singh Chauhan in a road accident in February.

In Noorpur, the BJP has fielded Avani Singh, wife of deceased MLA Lokendra Chauhan, as its candidate, while the SP has given a ticket to Naeemul Hasan.

According to the Election Commission, there are 16.09 lakh voters in Kairana - 8.73 lakh male voters and 7.36 lakh female voters. Noorpur Assembly constituency has 3.06 lakh voters.

In Kairana, there are 12 candidates in the fray, while in Noorpur there are 10 candidates in the field. Counting of votes in both the seats will take place on May 31.&nbsp;

The assurance came against the backdrop of opposition Samajwadi Party and RLD complaining of snags in the EVMs. Significantly, even BJP leaders complained of instances of malfunctioning of VVPAT machines. UP BJP chief Mahendra Nath Pandey and other leaders submitted a memorandum to CEO demanding repolling in those polling booths in Kairana and Noorpur where voting was affected, a party statement said. "A report has been sought from the district magistrates of Shamli, Saharanpur and Bijnor about polling booths, where voting was delayed for two hours or more, and then an decision on repolling will be taken accordingly," an official said. Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Ratnesh Singh said the polling in both the constituencies was by and large peaceful with no incident of violence reported. Earlier in the day, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav tweeted, "Receiving reports of problems in EVMs in the bye-elections but still voters should go to cast votes." SP spokesman Rajendra Chaudhary charged that 140 EVMs were tampered with in Noorpur, while similar reports had come in from Kairana as well. "The BJP wants to avenge its defeat in earlier bypolls in Gorakhpur and Phulpur anyhow and win these bypolls," Chaudhary claimed. Refuting the opposition charge, government spokesperson and cabinet minister Shrikant Sharma said, "Government has asked the EC to ensure free, fair and peaceful elections. The opposition's allegations are baseless, and sensing their defeat they have started indulging in gimmicks and talking things which are untrue. As far as EVMs are concerned, I am also getting complaints, and the EC will look into it." The Kairana Lok Sabha bypoll is significant as it would test the popularity of the ruling BJP in the electorally crucial state of Uttar Pradesh an year ahead of the next general elections. The bypoll was necessitated by the death of BJP MP Hukum Singh in February. His daughter Mriganka Singh is the BJP candidate, pitted against Rashtriya Lok Dal's Tabassum Hasan (former BSP MP from Kairana in 2009) who is also supported by the Congress, the Samajwadi Party and also claims the support of the Bahujan Samaj Party. Kairana parliamentary constituency has five assembly segments -- Shamli, Thana Bhawan and Kairana in Shamli district, and Gangoh and Nakur in Saharanpur district. Similarly, the bye-election to Noorpur Assembly seat was necessitated by the death of sitting BJP MLA Lokendra Singh Chauhan in a road accident in February. In Noorpur, the BJP has fielded Avani Singh, wife of deceased MLA Lokendra Chauhan, as its candidate, while the SP has given a ticket to Naeemul Hasan. According to the Election Commission, there are 16.09 lakh voters in Kairana - 8.73 lakh male voters and 7.36 lakh female voters. Noorpur Assembly constituency has 3.06 lakh voters. In Kairana, there are 12 candidates in the fray, while in Noorpur there are 10 candidates in the field. Counting of votes in both the seats will take place on May 31.

Children were finding it difficult to adjust to the new educational system. He and his wife also found the Indian community scattered. Ashish admits that barring big towns, small towns do not sustain modern entertainment industries. But he persisted. His daughter was sent to Australia for education and Indonesia too did not treat him badly either. He survived and prospered at the same time.

&nbsp;Unlike countries like Myanmar, Indians are comfortable and prosperous in Indonesia. They have never faced persecution. Indians are primarily located in Jakarta, Eastern and Northern Sumatra and mostly engaged in textiles, export-import and plantation industries.

&nbsp;Shanti, daughter of a prosperous industrialist and now a media personality of her own says that Indians have always been welcomed in Indonesia. "It is a welcoming community. Courteous and polite. Though you will realise that you are an outsider, but it will not come in your way," she said. Many feel otherwise. Unlike Malaysia or Singapore, Indians are not represented in the corridors of power in Indonesia.

There are other concerns too. There is lot of emphasis on cultural connectivity between India and Indonesia in the context of Mahabharat, Ramayana, temples, Buddhist religious places and use of Sanskrit words in daily usage and names. But the real connectivity is non-existent. There is no direct Delhi-Jakarta flight as of today. There is no connection between Banda Aceh and Indira Point. This is when India played a crucial role in Indonesia’s freedom struggle and two of their leaders were flown out from Indonesia by JB Patnaik in a Dakota on behest of Sukarno. It was Nehru who dispatched these leaders to New York to plead their case of independence against the ruthless Dutch colonialists. It is here the Bandung Conference was organised in 1955 but all was lost by 1965.

Others issues are also pressing for Indians. Banal in the category when it comes to national engagement but important for an individual in daily course of life.

&nbsp;Medicine is very expensive in Indonesia. Both educational and medical facilities are also way too expensive. Many Indians want this deadlock to be resolved. Some say that a way should be devised that people of Indian origin get access to cheaper medicine. “Indonesian hospitals and doctors cannot be compared with superior Indian infrastructure. But India does not have visa on arrival for us as Indians get it in Indonesia,” says Poonam Sagar another Indian-Indonesian.

Leela Kothari, another Indian Indonesian, grumps and says that both governments must work actively to solve immediate issues of the community. “Superior and cheaper Indian medical facilities should be available to us,” says Kothari as the other options mean going to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur or Pengang.

Indians in Indonesia are also full of praise for the Indonesian industry. The Corporate Social Responsibility difference between Indian and Indonesian business practices can be felt. Amol Titus, an Indian business expat based in Jakarta says, "Corporate Social Responsibility works far better in Indonesia than India and it should be a learning curve for the Indian business.” He says that there are toilets made by industries for women taking government out of the curve.

Life for an expat or person of an Indian origin is almost like a rhythm. “We follow every festival. We celebrate them together. Outside India, we are Indians first,” says Shanti. The religious festivals for Indians outside become cultural festivals, a glue which binds them over parochial difference of caste, language and religion. The other side, the majority too is religious and religious space is being contested between conservatives and people who want tolerant Islam.

&nbsp;But Indonesia too&nbsp;is not immune to the process of radicalisation which stems from the wastelands of West Asia. Though there is a silver lining.

The young Indian today do not wants to follow the traditional businesses of their forefathers. Most of them want to be part of the new economy like media and digital. They are looking out of the world which there parents built for them. The young India yearns for more in Indonesia. Prime Minister Modi knows it. He is the only leader after Jawaharlal Nehru to aggressively connect with the Indian diaspora audience. Nehru was sent by Gandhi to build consensus for freedom. Modi wants diaspora to be part of the Indian success story. It's time this intent is executed for people of Indian origin in Indonesia.
