The National Investigation Agency has questioned Hadiya's husband Shafi Jahan in connection with Kerala "Love Jihad" case.

Hadiya, originally a Hindu, converted to Islam and married a Muslim man Shafin Jahan.

Hadiya's father K M Ashokan had opposed her marriage alleging she is being brainwashed by Shafin who wants to recruit her for terror.

She was Akhilabefore converting to Islam and marrying Shafin Jahan. Their marriage is being investigated by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for being a case of what is called "Love Jihad", seen by many Right-wing activists as an Islamist ploy to convert Hindu young women.

TheKerala High Court annulled her marriageto Shafin Jahan in May after which Hadiya was in the custody of her parents for almost six months.

Her husband had then approached the apex court. The Supreme Court has postponed the next hearing of the case forthe third week of January.

Meanwhile, the NIA claimed that Hadiya'shusband Shafin Jahan was in touch with suspected Islamic State members before their marriage.
