The Sabarmati Report has been delayed multiple times. Before the third release date in November, the movie was slated to release in May 2024, however, the movie was not released because of a delay in CBFC certification. After this, the movie's release date was changed to August 2.
Director Ranjan Chandel has stepped back from the project citing creative differences. The movie is being helmed by Dheeraj Sarna.
In the movie, Vikrant is playing the role of a fearless journalist, who goes all the lengths to unravel the truth behind the train incident. Apart from Massey, Raashii Khanna and Ridhi Dogra play pivotal roles in the movie.
Produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Amul V Mohan and Anshul Mohan.
The Sabarmati Report will be Vikrant's first theatrical release after the blockbuster success of his movie 12th Fail. Directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the movie was a sleeper hit and earned moolah at the theatres.
The actor is receiving a lot of praisefor his prolific performance in the movie Sector 36. WION's film critic Shomini Sen called the movie a 'difficult watch.'
She writes, ''At 2 hours 4 minutes, the film is a stretch especially when you know who the culprit is and his modus operandi of luring kids into the horror house. Pandey's change of heart from a callous, corrupt police officer to one determined to solve the case seems too sudden as well.'' read full review here.
