All three accused in the Tiger Shroff shooting incident in Mumbai’s Juhu have been arrested at Kota railway station.
There has been a major update in the Tiger Shroff firing incident, as all three alleged shooters have been arrested at Kota railway station in Rajasthan. The arrests were made jointly by the Anti-Gangster Task Force and Kota Police following the attack in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday.
As per reports, two of the arrested men are from Haryana, while the third is from Maharashtra. The development comes after unidentified assailants allegedly riding a motorcycle opened fire at the actor’s BMW.
While Tiger escaped the shooting without any gunshot injuries, the actor reportedly sustained minor abrasions caused by gunpowder and shattered glass. His driver, Firdaus, was injured in the incident and taken to a hospital for treatment.
According to Kota Police, the three accused were arrested from a train by a joint team of Rajasthan’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) and Kota City Police. They were travelling on the Pune-Jaipur Express after allegedly boarding it at Vasai railway station in Mumbai. Among the arrested accused, Hrithik Kumar alias Roshan, 22, is originally from Begusarai district in Bihar and works as a Rapido rider in Mumbai. The other accused, Rehan, 18, is a resident of Sonipat district in Haryana. The third accused is a minor. Kota SP Tejaswani Gautam confirmed the arrests to ANI.
Hours after the shooting, an audio clip surfaced on social media in which a man claiming to represent the Lawrence Bishnoi gang purportedly took responsibility for the attack. However, the authenticity of the claim has not been independently established.
In the audio message, the speaker reportedly identified himself as Anil Pandit and alleged that Tiger had been targeted because he continued working with Salman Khan despite the gang's warnings.
The recording also contained threats against people in the film industry who continue to work with Salman. The Bollywood superstar has faced repeated threats attributed to jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, reportedly linked to the actor's alleged involvement in the 1998 blackbuck hunting case.
In the purported audio message, the speaker said, "Anyone in the film industry who works separately from us, or works with Salman Khan, we will kill him. And this is the first and last warning. This Salman Khan is Dawood's (Ibrahim) dog, and we have kept a dog named Dawood at home."
The message further said, "We had called him and explained it to him but he did not understand, so today we explained it to him properly".
The shooting took place on Sunday evening when Tiger was reportedly returning after playing football. Three unidentified men allegedly arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire at his BMW near Pushpa Park in Mumbai's Juhu area.
The incident prompted a police investigation, and a forensic examination has revealed that the assailants used a country-made pistol, also known as a “copy piece”, to target Tiger Shroff’s BMW during the firing incident in Mumbai’s Juhu area, a source said.
The attackers allegedly fired seven rounds, aiming at the car’s front windshield and side window. Five bullets hit the vehicle, while the remaining two missed the target.
Sources further claim that after firing the fifth round, the shooter positioned closest to the passenger-side window approached the vehicle and allegedly attempted to shoot Tiger at point-blank range. However, the pistol reportedly jammed.
The shooter is said to have attempted to fire twice, but the weapon failed to discharge due to a malfunction. Investigators suspect that the malfunction may have prevented the actor from being shot at close range.
Following the failed attempt, the two shooters allegedly escaped on a motorcycle that their third accomplice had kept ready for their getaway.
Sources have also indicated that the accused allegedly conducted a recce of the area before carrying out the attack. They reportedly waited near Pushpa Park for approximately 45 minutes before opening fire at the actor’s vehicle.
After the shooting, the accused allegedly travelled to Andheri West railway station and abandoned the motorcycle at a location near a police beat chowky. Investigators suspect they may have chosen the spot in the belief that CCTV cameras would not capture them.
Sources had suspected that the accused may have fled towards Surat following the incident before being arrested in Kota.
