Air India aircraft to London with 242 people onboard which crashed in Gujarat's Ahmedabad is one of the deadliest aviation accidents in recent times. With many families waiting to get their loved ones' bodies who were on the ill-fated plane, there is one who is desperately searching for his husband Mahesh Kalawadia, who is also a music director.
Mahesh Kalawadia's wife searches for her 'missing' husband
According to a report in PTI, Mahesh Kalawadia's wife Hetal said that she had gone to an acquaintance in the Law Garden area. Reportedly, Mahesh has mysteriously vanished, who was near Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. Even his family has also submitted DNA samples in a desperate bid to locate him.
His wife said, "My husband called me at 1:14 pm to say his meeting was over and he was heading home. But when he didn't return. I called him, only to find his phone switched off. After informing the police, we found his phone's last location was just 700 meters from the crash site".

She further added, "His phone went off around 1:40 pm, a minute after the ill-fated flight took off. His scooter and mobile are also missing. This is unusual, as he never takes that route while returning home. We have submitted DNA samples to check if he was among those killed on the ground in the crash".
For the unversed, Mahesh Kalawadia, also known as Mahesh Jirawala, a resident of Naroda, directs music albums. On the day of a tragic air crash, he had gone to meet someone in the Law Garden.

Celebrities share messages of grief and solidarity
Several celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Anushka Sharma, and Ranveer Singh extended their prayers and condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the tragedy.

The London-bound flight crashed into a residential area in Meghani Nagar shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad airport at 1:38 pm. The Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner was carrying 169 Indians, 53 British nationals, 7 Portuguese, and one Canadian besides the crew. Only one survivor was found on the flight.
