West Indies coach Phil Simmons is in short-term&nbsp;self-isolation after being allowed to attend the funeral of his&nbsp;father-in-law and has since twice tested negative for coronavirus, team chiefs said Sunday.

Prior to the start of their three-Test tour of England, Simmons had already sought permission to leave the team's bio-secure bubble at Old Trafford in Manchester.

"The entire process of his exit and re-entry to the bio-secure location was approved and managed by the medical&nbsp;teams of Cricket West Indies (CWI) and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB)," said a statement.

Simmons travelled to the small private family cremation and returned on Friday.

"Following his return, Simmons has been in self-isolation away from other members of the squad, exactly as had always been planned.&nbsp;

"He has so far undergone two COVID-19 tests since Friday – both of which came back negative.&nbsp;&nbsp;

"He will have another test on Wednesday before he will re-join the squad as they prepare for the three-match series against England."

The first Test of three against England gets underway in Southampton, another bio-secure location, on July 8.

All matches will be played behind closed doors.

Former Cricket West Indies (CWI) chief Dave Cameron has entered the race to succeed India’s Shashank Manohar as the next ICC chairman. The United States Cricket Hall of Fame recently recommended Cameron to the top post of the ICC.

Cameron is of the view that ICC needs to find a sustainable financial model where teams can earn on the basis of merit. The former CWI president has an interesting take on the sharing of revenues.&nbsp;

"I believe we need to find a sustainable financial model where teams can earn through merit," Cameron, who served as CWI president from 2013 to 2019, was quoted as saying by 'Jamaica Gleaner'.

"The big three India, Australia and England have all the events, the audience and the biggest economy, but the smaller nations have to always be coming back to the ICC for financial support, so what we want to happen is not equal share of revenues, but equitable share," said Cameron.

Jurgen Klopp has urged Liverpool fans to celebrate "in a safe way" during the coronavirus crisis after chaotic scenes marred the club's <a href="https://www.wionews.com/topics/premier-league">Premier League</a> title celebrations.

Thousands of Liverpool fans gathered at the Pier Head for a second night of celebrations on Friday after the club became champions of England for the first time in 30 years.

Police said officers were subject to violent confrontations and had glasses and bottles thrown at them as the celebrations continued in the city centre into the early hours.

Klopp, in an open letter to fans in the Liverpool Echo, said he "did not love" the scenes that took place at Pier Head.

"I am a human being and your passion is also my passion, but right now the most important thing is that we do not have these kind of public gatherings," wrote Klopp.

"We owe it to the most vulnerable in our community, to the health workers who have given so much and whom we have applauded and to the police and local authorities who help us as a club not to do this," he added.

Klopp said fans should celebrate in a safe way in private settings to avoid spreading the disease.

He added: "If things were different I would love nothing more than to celebrate together, to have a parade that would be even bigger than the one after we won the Champions League last year so that we could all share this special moment but it just is not possible."

The German boss urged fans not to let efforts to fight COVID-19 go to waste.

"When the time is right we will celebrate," he said. "We will enjoy this moment and we will paint the city red. But for now, please stay at home as much as possible."

In a joint statement with Merseyside Police and Liverpool City Council on Saturday, the club criticised supporters who had ignored social-distancing advice.

Liverpool's mayor Joe Anderson condemned the scenes, saying they had brought a "negative focus" on the city.

Klopp also praised fans for their support during the season, which was interrupted for three months by the coronavirus.

He described it as "an incredible time for incredible supporters of an incredible club in an incredible city".

"I love your passion, your songs, your refusal to accept defeat, your commitment, your understanding of the game and your faith in what we are doing," he said.

Police said £10,000 ($12,000) worth of damage was caused to the Liver Building, one of the city's most famous landmarks, after a firework landed on a balcony on Friday.

Pakistan skipper Azhar Ali has his eyes on England “fragile top order” as the countdown for the upcoming series gets underway, England’s top-order batting has looked a bit shaky in recent times but the Pakistan captain made sure to lavish high praise on their bowling line-up.

England have been inconsistent against the new ball in recent years and no pair has opened together more than nine times. Even if the likes of Rory Burns has looked solid, he remains inexperienced like the others in the fray for the West Indies series.&nbsp;

"Their bowling attack is brilliant in their own conditions and there is no doubt about it," Azhar said before leaving for England. "Other than Jofra Archer we have faced all of them - Broad, Anderson, Woakes, Stokes and even Wood was there, but we have still won against them. Looking at their batting, their top order has been fragile for some time since Alastair Cook retired. They have tried a lot of combinations lately and might be looking a bit more settled, but they haven't been really confident with it. So there is something for us in it to look at."

Pakistan have won three out of six Tests in two drawn series since 2016. 2-2 and 1-2 in 2016 and 2018 respectively. Pakistan remain to the only visiting tem to score 500+ in a Test in England since 2016. Azhar is optimistic about a win this time.

However, Pakistan’s inexperience bowling attack could be a problem. They might have fire but the experience needed to crack English conditions is lacking. Only Mohammad Abbas has played two Tests in the country and Yasir Shah has had a torrid time in England.

They can give trouble to any team in the world. In a very short time, they have achieved a lot and that is a good sign.

"You can't buy experience immediately, and for that you obviously have to play more, but then we have a very experienced coaching staff with Waqar Younis and Mushtaq Ahmed. Their expertise and knowledge can be utilised and they will be helping them. So I believe, when this combo of experience and skill is brought together, that we can produce a great result. I am confident about this.
