The importance of this helicopter was realized at the time of the Kargil War of 1999 when the Indian Army felt the lack of an effective light combat helicopter in the high altitude areas.

1. The only attack helicopter in the world that can land and take off at an altitude of 5,000 metres.&nbsp;

2. LCH Prachand is fitted with a 5.8-tonne twin-engine named Shakti engine, primarily designed for deployment in high-altitude areas.&nbsp;

3. It has the best stealth features, armored-shield systems, and dark-mode attack capability.&nbsp;

4. Its crash-resistant landing gear gives it an added edge for better survivability among other technologies like radar and IR signature.

5. Its maximum speed is 268 kilometres per hour, range of 550 kilometres and endurance of over three hours.&nbsp;

As engaged in controlling inflation, RBI recently rolled out its first pilot test programme to review and improve the currency’s functionality. Reserve Bank of India launched its first digital rupee on November 1 for the wholesale segment.&nbsp;

In Union Budget 2022, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman already cleared that the RBI would be rolling out its digital currency soon.&nbsp;

1. Retail CBDC (e₹-R)&nbsp;- It would be potentially available for use by all i.e., by the public.&nbsp;

To make Sri Lanka a 100% organic farming country, the government has completely banned all fertiliser imports since 2021. This severely affected the food production in the country. Rising food prices, currency depreciation, and to control the rapidly depleting foreign exchange reserves, the Sri Lankan President declared an economic emergency. This decision had an impact on the economy.&nbsp;

Economic mismanagement in Sri Lanka has depleted 70 per cent of Sri Lanka’s foreign reserves with only $2.31 billion left with debt repayment of over $4 billion. Sri Lanka's high dependence on imports of essential commodities such as sugar, pulses, and cereals adds fuel to the economic slowdown as the island nation lacks foreign reserves to pay its import bills.&nbsp;

Apart from that, Sri Lanka's FDI also declined. According to government data, FDI stood at $548 million in 2020, which decreased by $793 million and $1.6 billion in 2019 and 2018, respectively.

Recently, riots have been happening everywhere in Sri Lanka. There is anger among the people, and Sri Lankans are awaiting President Gotabaya Rajapaksa's resignation.

Overall, Taiwan sees itself as a separate country, while China considers Taiwan as its part. The same fight is still going on between China and Taiwan for their rights, which can also take the form of war in the coming times.&nbsp;

What is the role of the US ?

America is considered Taiwan's most important and only friend. From the Second World War until 1979, the relations between the two countries remained very close. Then in the year 1979, the then US President Jimmy Carter broke his diplomatic relations with Taiwan, taking the initiative to strengthen relations with China.&nbsp;

However, then the US Congress passed the 'Taiwan Relations Act' in response, under which it was decided that America would supply military weapons to Taiwan and if China attacks Taiwan in any way, America will take it very seriously.

The greatest tension between the US and China over Taiwan was seen when China conducted missile tests in 1996 to influence Taiwan's presidential election in its way, in response to which the then US President Bill Clinton launched massive US military power. It was called the largest US military demonstration in Asia since the Vietnam War.

Former U.S President Donald Trump has always been in support of Taiwan and now US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s move to visit Taipei has also shown President Biden's support too. Biden confirmed that the US would come to Taiwan’s defence if China attacked.

What is One-China Policy?

Under China's "One-China Policy", China considers Taiwan as its part. It refers to the United States' policy of strategic ambiguity which accepts that all "Chinese on either side of the Taiwan Strait is only one China and that Taiwan is a part of China."

The policy says that if a country wants to establish diplomatic relations with China(People's Republic of China), then it will have to end its diplomatic relations with Taiwan(Republic of China).

Beijing considers Taiwan its part and will do everything possible for this. Now it has to be seen that like the Russia-Ukraine war, this matter also does not take a terrible form.&nbsp;

Now, our prestigious KFON project can kickstart its operations of providing the internet as a basic right to our people."

The government's aspiring IT infrastructure project

The Internet has not only made the way for education, banking, and other sectors easier, but it has also gotten rid of the congestion in government offices. The mission of Kerala Fiber Optic Network Limited is to provide free internet service to every village and town in the state with over 2 million&nbsp;economically backward households. The project also aims to connect all government offices, educational institutions, and hospitals and partners with telecom service providers to increase their connectivity.

In fact, in 2019, the Pinarayi Vijayan government started a project worth Rs 1,548 crore by declaring internet connection as a fundamental right, intending to provide free internet to government offices, including 20 lakh poor households. At present, only 10% of government offices in the state have high-speed internet. This scheme will give high-speed internet to 30,000 government offices. IT parks, airports, and seaports, education, transport, management, tourism, and IT sectors are expected to see a huge boom.&nbsp;

Let us tell you that Andhra Pradesh also has its own internet company named Andhra Pradesh State FiberNet Limited. But it offers paid internet packages, while Kerala claims to provide free internet service only to financially disadvantaged sections of society.

Kerala: The first State with its own internet service, gets ISP licence

The rupee is falling day by day. On Monday, it fell to the level of 80 for the first time against the dollar. However, in the end, it closed at 79.98 with a fall of 16 paise. The rupee opened at 79.76 in the interbank foreign exchange market and touched a psychological low of 80 during trading. However, later the situation improved and it closed at 79.98. On Friday, it closed at Rs 79.82 per dollar, up by 17 paise against the dollar. Now again it hit its all-time low and breached the psychological mark of 80 per dollar on Tuesday.&nbsp;

What is the meaning of "falling rupee"?

A fall in the rupee against the dollar in the forex market means that the Indian currency is weakening. This means, that while importing from the United States or any country, India will have to pay more because the payment is done in dollars,i.e., less import cost more.

Sectors being affected&nbsp;

India imports 20.96 per cent of its GDP. It includes mineral fuels, oils, electrical machinery, nuclear reactors, mechanical appliances, jewellery and many more. As all these imports are done in dollars so the weakening of the Indian currency against the dollar is affecting these sectors.&nbsp;

1. Oil and Gas

India imports over 85 per cent&nbsp;of oil and half of the gas it consumes. As the dollar is touching the sky, this sector is adversely impacted. Crude importers (Indian Oil, BPCL, HPCL, RIL, Nayara), as well as gas importers (GAIL, GSPC), will have to face a rise in purchase costs.&nbsp;

2. FMCG

Major raw materials such as crude and palm oil derivatives are imported and account for about half of the input cost. And now companies are increasing the prices to compensate for the higher input cost.&nbsp;

3. Electronics&nbsp;

On average, India imports $56.73 Billion in electrical, and electronic equipment in 2021. About 40-60 per cent&nbsp;of the total input cost including components is imported; In smartphones, around 70-80 per cent&nbsp;of the input cost is imported. Now that the value of the dollar has increased, then their cost will also likely increase.&nbsp;

4. Telecom Services

Telecom companies spend around $6 billion annually on importing network gear. Gear imports become more expensive due to the depreciation of the rupee.&nbsp;

5. Renewable Energy

Indian solar plants are largely dependent on imported solar cells and modules. This will increase the cost of the project, higher tariffs in future bids and so on.&nbsp;

The main reason for this fall in the rupee is the rise in crude oil prices, foreign investors withdrawing money from the Indian market and the monotonous environment of domestic business. Brent crude futures, the global oil benchmark, jumped 0.72 per cent to $123.15 per barrel. According to provisional stock market data, foreign institutional investors were net sellers in the capital market. In June, Foreign Institutional Investors (FII) have withdrawn a record ₹50,203 crores from the stock market.&nbsp;

How will it affect you?

The devaluation of the rupee will make imports costlier. Since the rupee has weakened against the dollar, importers will now pay more for the same quantity and price.&nbsp;People who are aiming to study abroad during this time would see an increase in the amount of the fees.&nbsp;People residing abroad who send money to their families in India would cost more as they will end up sending more in terms of the rupee.&nbsp;On the other hand, the depreciation of the rupee makes exports cheaper.&nbsp;
